The R.Kelly trial is set to start Septembber 17th and word is the the girl who was featured in that infamous tape is going to take the stand in R.Kelly’s defense.
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the young woman, who’s father played bass for Kelly and who the singer refers to as his “goddaughter” in the liner notes of his TP2.com album, will turn 23 this September. She is set to take the stand and testify that she is in fact not the girl in the infamous video tape.

The man who allegedly died in a vicious dog attack at the home of actor Ving Rhames was identified Saturday as 40-year-old Los Angeles resident Jacob Adams. The exact cause of death, however, may not have been due to the actual dog bites.
Word is, Adams may have died of heart failure during the attack, coroner’s officials said Friday.
There’s no doubt he was attacked by the dogs,” said Los Angeles Police Department Lt. Ray Lombardo. “Whether or not the coroner can determine that the mauling actually caused the death, or the mauling contributed to him having a heart attack, that’s a decision the coroner will have to determine.”

In the lawsuit filed Monday in Manhattan state Supreme Court, Roberto LeBron, 20, charged that he was kicked in the head after an encounter with Rhymes and his nine bodyguards in August 2006.
Rhymes’ attorney, Scott Leemon, said he hadn’t seen the lawsuit. “Nothing has been proven yet,” Leemon said.

Unless the law is different where I live, it’s almost IMPOSSIBLE to convict someone of a crime where there is a “victim” and that “victim” refuses to testify against the perp. Not to mention: the length of time that’s elapsed since the alleged crime took place, a lack of physical evidence (other than a grainy tape) and no proof that a “crime” even took place (ie verification of her age at the time).
If the prosecution pulls this one out of the bag, it will surely be as a result of the jury seeking redemption for Kelly and his lawyers making a mockery of the court system for all these years. It will not be because of substantial evidence or any other level of proof that a “normal” court case requires. I’m just sayin. But regardless of whether he gets off or not, you cannot escape justice from the man upstairs.

Yes, you can proceed with a case without a victim but there’s a whole lot that goes into it and the burden becomes very heavy for the DA. Furthermore, it’s not up to the defense to prove that Kelly is innocent. It’s up to the DA to prove he’s guilty.
