Toni Braxton has finally spoken out about the breast cancer rumor that has been going around the web for the past week. The singer exclusively told Access Hollywood:
“There has been a rumor circulating that I have been diagnosed with breast cancer. After feeling something uncomfortable in my left breast, I went in for a screening. I was very fortunate that they did not find anything and I am in great health. However, I encourage women to take their annual tests and suggested precautions to prevent this disease that continues to affect so many women.” [SOURCE]
Toni is right ladies, according to African American Health, Breast cancer is the most common cancer diagnosis among African American women, and among women nationwide. African American women are more likely than white women to be diagnosed at later stages of the disease and are more likely to die from it.
RUMOR: RIHANNA DATING SHIA LaBEOUF?
According to Radio With A Twist, Rihanna is reportedly dating actor Shia LaBeouf. “It’s all the talk of the Indiana Jones 4 set,” a snitch dishes to news sources. Shia took Rihanna out on a romantic date at Kate Mantilini in Beverly Hills on Tuesday.

A judge has rejected jailed rapper Foxy Brown’s lawsuit against the Corrections Department in New York for unlawful incarceration. Like i always say if your black and your argument is that love comes in all shades, but you have to ask yourself does your rainbow include BLACK if not then self hate continues to do us in.
Obviously, the reason why black women and even some black men get upset about black men dating white women is largely to do with disproportionate numbers. Black men are about 5-10 more times likely to marry outside the race than black women. This, though black women are constantly talking about wanting to meet a good black man. People view interracial dating among black men as a disturbing trend that reflects the devaluation of black women and a symptom of black hatred. In this way, black men going “out of their way” to marry white women its viewed by some as racial betrayal.

Black woman are the most disrepected, devalued, denegrated group of woman in our society. We live in a society that tells us that everything we naturally are is wrong. Some of us rise above that, but many of us internalize it and therefore see these relationships as slaps int eh face. I’m not the type of woman who cares who a black man dates. MY DOCTOR SHARED A STUDY WITH ME THAT SHOWED THAT BLACK WOMAN HAD HIGHER OCCURENCES OF CANCER DUE TO THE CHEMICAL COMPOUNDS FOUND IN THE HAIR PRODUCTS. We are know for using ALOT of chemicals in our hair unfortuatly, the less chemical you allowed to be absorbed through your scalp the better. I use Carol’s Daughters products, they work well and are chemical, petrolium and mineral oil free.

At first I thought dble standards like Sade had stated. I’ve had my share of comments about inter-racial relationship (marriage, dating,children). I’m not sure if all the ladies who were negative about black men dating non-black women are the same ones commenting on Rihanna and Shia. I’m not going back to check the other posts to see who said what, I’m just going to give everyone the benefit of the doubt. As for that polow post that seems to keep coming up, the main problem there was that Polow wants a servant. Most of the ladies agreed on that, it wasn’t so much that he preferred White woman but that he thought white women SERVED him better than black women. It became more of a let a man be a man, let him take the lead or think that’s he’s taking the lead discussion. there were some side comments regarding religion but it was mostly about “what is submission vs letting him take the lead?” Just my take.

I’m on my mom and grandmother every year to get a mammogram and what not……i’m 21 but in a year I think i’ll start getting them regularly too….i’ve heard of women as young as 24 getting breast cancer. I’m glad Toni is healthy.
