If i’m correct, this is largely a blog for african americans, and so that’s why the stories are in large about black actors/entertainers/models/dancers.

If i remember correctly, Angel said the reason why they created the blog was because if you go to the majority of the blogs, they weren’t about black people, instead they were about brad pitt, jennifer aniston, angelina jolie, paris hilton, lindsay lohan, britney spears, and etc. So they wanted to create a blog that highlights african amercans, whether its stories that relate to blacks or concerns blacks, or whether its about black celebrities.

hope you weren’t referring to me because first off, i never said this is a ALL BLACK anything, i used words like “largely” and “mostly”.

And you said this is a urban site, not a black site, well at last check, there’s a huge number of black people who live in urban areas, dare i say mostly urban areas of the cities. Dare i say, urban areas are made up mostly of blacks…that’s where our numbers concentrate.

@#70, Yeah, I’m serious. I have not seen the honeymooners & daddy’s little girls, but in every other movie, she always plays the character the same way. She’s always a smart, sassy female who is on point with attitude. The variables change very little (man stealer, don’t need a man, career woman, yada yada). Perhaps that is what the role calls her to play, but it gives me the feeling that she dosen’t have any range because she does not step outside of that basic character.

I understand there are not that many roles for black females in Hollywood, so she’s gotta do her thing, whatever that may be, they all do. But that’s what I see, it is what it is.

Yeah, i see your point….Gabby never plays a weak woman…she always plays a strong woman in some way or another. So i see what you are saying, but i guess that’s what i love about her and she played those roles so well, you’d actually think that’s her personality..

JSCENE, I do think that is probably just her personality. I actually live in AZ and her father lives here with his family, so she comes through now and then and does the radio shows, her personality seems to be consistent with what we see on TV. One thing is very sure, she is a very strong woman. After being raped and brutalized in real life, she has defintately wound up on top, so she deserves her props!

I think flawless is in the eye of the beholder…I’ve seen Halle and Gabrielle in person and Gabrielle is just as cute. Halle really doesn’t stand out that much in person…just my opinion! Nobody in Hollywood is totally natural.

I could have better articulated my last comment… I was beating around the bush, and it ended up sounding worse than if I had just said it. So, here goes: Yes, this is an African American site, and yes we do need one as I am so sick of seeing and hearing about subpar, inflated, white people BUT it does not make sense to inflate more mainstream African American women. I said the same thing in that other Beyonce post… How does that make this site any better if you harp on the same few black celebs “mainstream America” has chosen to embrace…or let into their fold, I should say. It’s like, why should you invent things that aren’t true just to talk about the same old celebs, when it is certainly true for other less popular African American celebs???? I think that’s an injustice… Especially since, as I said before, there just aren’t that many stylish mainstream African Americans… Highlight somebody who truly deserves it… I think bringing light to them and their sense of style is ultimately more interesting, anyway. why is there always at least one non black female imagining that black women are lashing out in hate because they ar intimidated by her.if anything the only other women i have every felt intimitadated by were OTHER BLACK women. but then again non black females like to think of black women as the least desirable race because it makes them sleep better at night it gives them confidence and esteem. people are quick to assume a black girl is mixed or not even black as long as she has a COMPLEXION ,HAIR TYPE or facial feauture that doesnt look like anything they consider “BLACK”. think about the fact that maybe it is not these females gene pools that have some non black genes, but perhaps yours has been “tainted” by black genes.
