Cherri V – Between the Sheets
When Angel passed this girl along to me to hear the music, I was very intrigued. At first by her pictures and then when I got into some of the tracks, I was really liking what I heard. Cherri V is well on her way to becoming the next sensation in the UK. Her music is a great blend of Rock, Pop, and R&B.
In 2006, Cherri was a member of the girl group Trinity Stone and they were signed to Sony/BMG. The group soon disbanded, but Cherri was fortunate enough to travel to many places across the globe and learn about the industry, allowing her to discover where she could now hold a spot in it. Right now, she’s recording her album at her own pace and is gaining as much performance exposure in the UK as possible.

I like Cherri V. I’m not a huge fan of the song but I can tell that this is one of those songs that grows on you. I think the song might sound better as a slow song not as a slow fast song. But I think she has lots of potential.

Never mind. Went to her myspace page. While listening to a some of her songs the first person came to mind was Rhianna. She has a song “Fast Car”, what came to mind, Shut up and Drive.”

@30- I was thinking Amerie on the second song, too. If you speed up the track, it’s 1 Thing. They’re not foolin anybody. LOL. That said, they could’ve put a little more thought into the writing. 60 seconds of “until the sun comes up” gets quite annoying.
Although she sounds okay, it’s nothing all that special. Her style is just in-tune-head-voice. Just a stronger Janet-esque or Ciara-esque voice.
She can obviously sing so I’m appreciative.
LOL! You guys are funny! I can see what some of you are saying about Cherri being similar to Rhianna but in all fairness Cherri V was doing her thing with Trinity Stone way before we knew about Rhianna over here in UK so… Rhianna is like Cherri V!
‘Before the song comes up’ may also have a slight resemblence to the drum beat in ‘One Thing’ by Amerie…is that such a crime? Why do you have to make it a negative?? If you all went to see Cherri V live you couldnt really compare her to Amerie and Rhianna. The girl can dance her ass off and sing like a bird whilst doing it. I can’t believe in an artists untill I see them live…and Cherri has it all. Please do check her myspace, go see her live…then come back and edit your comments!

I love it, I really love her voice and I love the pop sound. Of course black people are not susceptible to different varities or style of music. If she’s not doing a thousand runs then oh she can’t sing. I’m sure she will garner a huge white/ pop alternative fan base when she starts to really come up.
