Common teamed up with U.K.’s Lily Allen for the eclectic song and video, “Drivin’ Me Wild.” Peep cameos from Lauren London, Damon Dash, and Jeremy Piven (HBO’s Entourage).
Common’s latest album, Finding Forever is still doing well on the Billboard charts, last I checked it was #3 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums. For more info on Common check out common-music.com.

I guess I have to disagree with the majority on this one. When I saw the video stills from the shoot I thought it was going to be hot like that “Testify” video but this video is a conglomerate of mass confusion. Why is Lily in an astronaut suit ? Why is Lauren London in this video when she’s a bad actress ? (she’s a cute girl but she was horrible in ATL) Why is Jeremy Piven in the video rocking a bad hair piece ?
But besides all that mess Common is still sexy.

Sick, I like it. I love Lily Allen, but if anyone ever has the chance to see her live, return your ticket. Seeing her live has to be the biggest dissapointment ever. Even if you go to a free concert, demand some money back.
Wonderful track. Common’s definitely coming back stronger than the last time. Seems like with every new album he is more on top of his game than the past album.

Just because a person prefers “Be” over “Finding Forever” doesn’t mean that they don’t understand Common, or that they are looking for a club banger. Honestly, when was the last time Common even had a club banger? Let’s give people credit and assume that if they went out and took the time to purchase a Common CD that they had the good sense to know that it would NOT contain that type of music (club bangers/radio singles). I for one wasn’t impressed with “Finding Forever “upon my initial listening, because it just didn’t jump out at me. I prefer “Be”, perhaps because of Kanye’s production on that album. To me, “Be” had a cohesive feel and I liked it instantly, it was more soulful and musical, in my opinion. It took a second listen for me to appreicate “Finding Forever,” and I can say that it’s a great album with some real gems. I don’t know what I was thinking not to like it at first, but sometimes music grows on you. It’s a very good album, but I prefer “Be.” Some folks think “Like Water For Chocolate” is his best work, to each his/her own. I think it’s good that people can disagree about his work, at least that shows that he’s being noticed and appreciated. I was happy that he debuted at #1 on Billboard.
The album is hot and the selected singles are a good look on behalf of the label. Common is making all the right moves… but that’s nothing new! Go hun!

I couldn’t agree with you more on the “Be” vs. “Finding Forever” feud with self. It took me a while to decide which one i liked more… but before that, I was trying to figure out whether I liked the new album at all. But yes- it had to grow on me… not because it was THAT bad- but because it took that much of a HUGE step into the realm of different and unique sound. The beats and hooks are not even something I can call “vintage” because surely these sounds are around today- just not usually for hip hop songs. But once I could link Common’s rhyme’s to the beats and realize that YES, everything was synchronized and did indeed flow, I was able to hum every track and appreciate them. They were real and extremely soothing. Now; I can even fall asleep to them, as opposed to sleeping ON them.
Thanks Common for cleansing my ears of the bullsh*t radio that i’d succombed to while on my hip hop hiatus and on my mixtape desperation grind.
^ Right on. Common is consistent too, if nothing else. He lost me with “Electric Circus” though, LOL. Maybe that was back when Badu still had his mind twisted!
NO NWORD, NO CALLING WOMEN OUT OF THEIR NAMES, NO SHOWING OFF YOUR GRILL, OR JEWELERY, NO HALF NAKED BOOTY SHAKING WOMEN INSTEAD A HOOK, WITH SOME NICE LYRICS AND AN ENTERTAINING VIDEO WHAT A SELLOUT. NICE TO SEE THAT SOME RAPPERS STILL RELY ON THEIR LYRICAL SKILLS AND NOT THE AFORMENTIONED MESS. GOOD JOB COMMON.
Common is the man. I’m happy for his successes, he deserves every bit of it. Finding Forever is an awesome album.

I got Common’s album and I saw the video yesterday on mtv2 I think (I don’t watch tv but I keep it on and happened to catch it coming on as I walked past it)…….very cute vid.

OK, I feel u… but I don’t have a favorite by Common…… Asking me which of his records I like best is like asking a mom which one of her kids she likes best. They each shine on their own to me. Please excuse the accusatory tone of my previous post…… but I’m a true stan for the brother and always have been. His music speaks to my soul. And even Electric Circus, if you let it….. can fill you up.
