I hated the show, be honest I had to change the channel it was a waste of time and it wasn’t even focused on the awards. WTF it was too much going on. These past couple of years the VMA’s have went down the hill. Performance wise, Chris Brown and Alicia Keys did good. Britney [SMH] … I though she would do better than that, I was rooting for her. Oh well there is always next year.

it was more of a celeb get together/party than an awards show. I’m glad I didn’t sit and completely focus ( I was flipping the channel, mainly keeping it on other channels).
I don’t know what to say about it, nothing *sigh*…. I’m ready to talk about the fashion and see what everyone thought about what the celebs were wearing.
The whole award show was a mess. Heck Kanye’s and Justin’s parties were hotter than the actual show. Kanye performed like how many songs at his party and he was killin it – and they only played like 10 seconds of each performance! And Justin T. – love his music but always disliked his personality – his performances were hot – if only they f**kin showed all of them! WTF… why couldn’t Kanye and Justin perform on the main stage for the whole show? Shit no one else didn’t have to perform – Kanye could’ve performed his new songs and Justin could’ve done his thing and that would’ve been a better award show. And yet we only kept seeing 10 second clips of their parties and were stuck with a confusing ass mess of a show… Alicia Keys did a great job – best performance of the night. Chris Brown was cool – his dances were pretty hot. And Rihanna – I have a whole new respect for her especially after seeing Britney’s dumb ass perform. At least Rihanna was doing her thing and puttin her all in the performance and plus she didn’t lip-sync when she was performing with Chris. And why couldn’t we see all of the Shut up and Drive performance? Oh and did I say how much Alicia killed it? Cuz she did. She was the only good thing about the show… And did anyone catch Mark Ronson and Daniel Merriweather at the booth? I doubt some people on here know who Daniel is but his performance was hot even though they showed 10 seconds of it. Shit why couldn’t MTV ask them to perform on the main stage? What kind of fuckery of an award show was that? Did I really spend 2 hours watching it? Seriously… There was good music playing but they kept cutting it off and went to commercial and would only play 10 seconds of the good performances. Sorry for the rant but I’m just so pissed. I didnt watch the awards… but I just caught this video of Britneys performance on another site. I feel kind of bad for her….her hair tracks (wtf?), her dancing, singing, that little outfit….the crowd doesnt even look moved by her performance. I think everyone was genuinely trying to be supportive….but dam! She should have practiced more and maybe wore a hat or a wig.

The award show was dismal at best but there were two wonderful performances by Chris Brown and the immensely talented Alicia Keys. I don’t understand why Rihanna performed even a piece of “Umbrella” since she performed the song at the other lame MTV awards a couple of months ago. Britney Spears has never been able to sing but atleast she knew how to perform due mostly in part to her dance skills. However, her dancing was completely and utterly atrocious tonight. I think it is time for her to give it up because even her lip synching skills were amiss.

She is a good dancer, so why was she acting like she just landed from another planet? I still lover her-deeply-but she needs to re-group pronto! Everything was laid out for her to be the biggest success ever and she just didn’t seem to get how very important this performance was to her career. This was personal for me. I wanted her to succeed b/c she has, most undeservingly, endured more scorn and backlash than Hitler. She is the ONLY reason I watched the show in the first place. I’m still on Britney’s team, and love her song, but I”m just sick about how her part of the show turned out. You don’t just give the coveted MTV crown away like dat!
