As you all know, we usually do a special commentary post after every popular entertainment award show, but the 2007 Video Music Awards were so horrible that we aren’t even going to recap that sh*t for you. Britney wasnt so bad. She had to change her performance at the last minute. If u watched the pre show they showed her rehearsing! The hotel wouldnt allow the chris angel act. People keep sayin Rhianna was laughing at her, no she was looking at those pole dancers ontop of her table. Chris brown had the best performance. i didnt see nelly furtado at all. Alicia keys sounded off. Over all the show sucked. they should have stuck with the original recipe. It didnt feel like an award show. And if I were Janet Jackson….I wouldnt have even came to the whack ass show. They haven’t supported her music since 2004.
Britney was a mess. Just a huge mess. Chris Brown’s performance was the best SOLELY for the dancing, but he still doesn’t quite wow me. Part of it is because his voice is lackluster. And sometimes I feel like he’s so caught in the MJ imitation that I can’t get a real feeling for who he is as a performer. Timbaland and crew at the end was nice too, as was A. Keys.
The saddest part of all? That the parties Kanye, Justin, and Fall Out Boy were having seemed much more entertaining than the show!
Please with the Britney excuses! A true star would have brushed all of those excuses off! Give me a break!
I guess I’m one of the ffew who didn’t think Alicia did so hot. I felt she over sang and to be honest I don’t like that song. Her lyrics are so elementary. I expect better from her.
Chris can dance, but it was blatantly obvious he was lip synching. I hate it when they make it so obvious that that is was going on.
Beyonce couldn’t have saved that show and I’m tired of some of you saying that. Her performance at the BET awards wasn’t all that great, even her lip synching was off at certain points when she was trying to sing and dance.
Oh well, some continue to support subpar music and looks instead of the talent what do you expect.
It was a Waste of time. Only good performance was Chris Brown and A Keys I still don’t like the song. They were trying to make the awards different and it went wrong. It was to much going on at one for me.

Yeah i agree…the show was not good this year…what killed me was Brittney…that girl was high on something im sorry…either that or she was drunk cuz she looked like she was out of it, str8 up. that shity show gave me a damn headache with all of the different partys that was going on in those rooms and all of those techno colors once I saw Britney make a stagnant hoe fool of herself and then seen Chris Fine Ass Browns amazing performance I took my black ass to sleep, that VMA award show involved too much thinking. I hated the whole structure of the show..

Not impressed with Britney…Next. Chris Brown was tight, I guess he had to lipsync although I was disappointed by that, but his dancing made up for it. Im glad Im not the only one who absolutely hated the MTV awards! It sucked. It was confusing and the format was stupid!

50 Cent’s performance last night was epic, that have to go down as one of best performances in VMA history. I must say that his fanbase and the approval rating continue to rise for 5-0.
I knew after 10 minutes that it would be wack… i’m glad i didn’t watch the rest of the show.
How in the world can mtv allow Britney to perform after all the crap she’s been doing, and just snub Janet Jackson altogether. That’s who should have opened the show!

Justin killed it…but you know Chris killed it soooo much more! Unfortunately…the rest of the hour and 50 minutes of the show sucked. It was all out of order and ridiculous. It was random as hell having Fergie win woman of the year. I guess they didn’t want Shia and Rihanna on the same stage…too much sexual tension.

Yes, I did watch the show and thought it was entertaining. I thought there was plenty to recap. I thought the different shows going on in the different rooms was an interesting twist. Britney was horrible. Beyonce’s dress was unflattering and predictable seeing as how she always wears gold or silver to award’s shows. I want Jennifer Hudson to start wearing outfits that support her breasts. And finally, I’m glad Kanye West didn’t perform on the main stage. I’m not really feeling any of his music right now or him in general.
I don’t see why everyone was giving C.Brown so much credit when he lip synced just as much as Britney did. Didn’t you all notice him? His choreography was good though. The MJ dance was too much though, he REALLY shouldn’t have done that. Excuse me for sounding a bit alternative here, but Linkin Park was the best performance in my opinion. It was in full and very lively. Rihanna was good as well as Nelly Furtado. Overall, they do not need to do the VMAs like this again. If you are gonna do it in Vegas, do it at MGM or Mandalay Bay, don’t make up stupid categories like “Quadruple Threat Of The Year” when most of the nominees are barely “Triple”(I’ve never heard of Timberfake’s clothing line), and play FULL performances, or don’t air the FUCKING show. Last year’s was way better, 2004′s was the hottest, maybe Miami needs to be the official spot.

ever since the janet jackson nipplegate incident, mtv has watered down the vmas so much, it makes the american music awards look more fun than this nonsense. the stars dont even dress crazy anymore and now more than half of the people they had on lip sing.

i didnt watch the whole thing……after chris brown performed i changed the channel. i just sort of suspected it was gonna be shyt….i mean look at the opening act! Brittany’s drunk ass was stumbling across the stage out of dance step, she couldnt lip sync right to her own song, she looked like a has been whore and i felt like shooting the fucker who did her tracks. omfg she was soooo horrible i was like “is this what everyone’s been waiting to see?” her dancers so did put more effort inot her performance then she did. she looked bored and wasted. as for chris brown, i wish he didnt lip sync but the dancin was hot, rihanna also did her thang. i heard alicia did a great job….ill hav to wait for the rerun to see it. but i’m not sure i would be able to sit down and watch the whole dam show……
The show was MTV at it’s complete worst…….further more it only gave us an indication of where entertainment is headed. What was all that about??? Was it a night club or an adward show?? MTV was doing too much. Kanye and T-Pain were good though!!! Better luck to MTV next year.
