As most of you know, I spoke with Kanye West via the phone over the weekend. Since then, I’ve been getting a lot of emails asking when the interview with Kanye was going to be posted. Well I still have to transcribe it, so I’m shooting for this Friday or next week Monday at the latest.
Until then, here are three snippets from the interview. First up, Kanye speaks about whether he has spoken to 50 Cent and the whole album release frenzy. I also attached (2) other snippets (after the cut), where he speaks on the Jena 6 and misconceptions people have about him.
KANYE SPEAKS ABOUT 50 CENT & ALBUM RELEASE
KANYE SPEAKS ABOUT THE JENA 6 SITUATION
KANYE SPEAKS ABOUT MISCONCEPTIONS
Please check back this Friday or next Monday (at the latest) for the full interview. Big big shout out to We Hustle!

Congrats on the album Kanye! I have the album and I give you props, but I feel that you can do even better. I felt you were holding back. I also expected about 15-17 tracks. You’ve done better producing the tracks of other greats so I feel that you have it within you to go a further. It was so many creative thoughts just going through my head off of where certain melodies and lyrics from this album tho. Kanye – your music tells a story whereas 50 Cent’s CD is a repetitive flo of lullaby BULLS***. 50 is a joke, degrading to the African American male, and is not a real lover of hip hop. You can tell those that love hip hop and music because what they produce is of quality and its timeless. Its rare that an artist can make music that lasts for decades.
As for the interviews, some of the things that Kanye said made a lot of sense, but much of it was a lot of “I think” and “I,” “I,” “I” which may very well prove the theory of arrogance. The answer against Jena 6 was more about him than the situation overall. Kanye, please listen to a few of your interviews and become more adept at participating in interviews. I still love you much tho.
The Jena 6 issue is indeed a complex one. But several things come to mind. How can people like Remy Ma committ attempted murder and get out, and no justice is being served for high school students who were defending their race? Basically, I am really disappointed in the legal system. Lawyers, if you are listening…There are clearly hundreds of videos showing Black men being beaten by white men in the Civil Rights era and before that period. I guarantee you those men are not locked up today. Yes, lots of those actions may have been protected by lelgislation but then they may not. If not, this should be used as evidence that Jena 6 is WRONG!
Oh and Kanye..People always say I look like your sister because I have puffy jaws-lol.
Keep up the ingenious music!
Luv ya!
dats my dude cant wait for the interview…its going to be the interview of the year
I’m gonna wait til it posts in its entirety so I can lay into his ass… lol
Seriously, Ye doing his thing!
thanks, kanye, for being real, being intelligent, and not posturing to fit what people expect hip-hop and black men to be.
long as you actually have something to say, i’ll have enough money to buy a copy.
awwww man i wish there was a script version to read cuz the sound on my computer is not working!! =(

@CJade,
I am in no waying singling one person out and asking them to change the world. WTH? All I’m asking is for the black artists to actually act like they give a dayum!! I did not see this nicca at the Jena 6 rally. Bun B (my nicca) was there, Mos Def was there, David Banner was there. I only saw 3 black artist there. That is soooo sad. If they want to act like they don’t care, then fine. Guess what, you won’t get another ragedy a$$ penny out of me. Trust. I am not the only one to feel like this. Where I live EVERYBODY that I have come into contact feels like this. We gonna hit them where it hurts. And don’t you mean money is not the ONLY key to giving back because it is a big part. Just ask any artist who have made it and gave back monetarily. (sp?) He acted like he cared with Katrina. So what are you saying? That wasn’t his “job” (as u put it) to say “President Bush doesn’t care about black people” but he said it. Because he felt the need to say it. My point is If you don’t give a dayum about us, we don’t give a dayum about you.
