If you’re just catching up to the high waist trends, then you are a tad bit late. Infact, high waist jeans have been popularized for at least three seasons now starting as a huge trend in the U.K and moving here to the U.S. But, besides how long its been the “it” look – high waist jeans have triumphed over the “low rise” phase where we practically saw the glory of a woman’s butt crack.
Celebrities and their stylists have taken a big liking to high waist jeans, mostly because of the fun you can create with a pair. The most hot style right now would have to be the high waisted suspenders, which I received numerous emails about after posting photos of Meagan Good rocking the look. The corset jean, rock’d by Eve (Fetish High Waist Jeans) and Elise Neal most recently has also added positives to “the high”…
LOOKING FOR SOME HIGH WAIST JEANS?
Here are some great alternatives you can find online right now. Though High waist jeans are more appealing on certain body types, I think that any woman can try a pair and find the right fit for her. High waist doesn’t necessarily mean all of them come to your chest! So don’t be afraid of this look…

I love the fact that they’re rockin these styles but damn, I hate how everyone just starts to look like they came from the same mold.
I love them all. Now I am going out to buy a pair or two or three.
DON’T NOBODY WANT TO WEAR THOSE UGLY ASS PANTS…..
GOOD LOOK FOR SOME.
um? didn’t anyone learn anything from the 80′s? how about wearing some well designed normal jeans? wouldn’t that be a shock!! and it might actually look GOOD!
I love the skinny jeans and Im trying to find the high waist jeans!
TO MZ D.
ANYONE ……. I REPEAT ANY WHO HAS A BOOTY-DO (THATS WHERE YOUR STOMACH STICKS OUT FURTHER THAN YOUR BOOTY DO) SHOULD NOT ROCK THE HIGH WAIST PANTS….
If you do not have a pair already you are HELLA LATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
evryone looks great!! i luv tha new trend. but u have to have tha rite figure for it!!
it’s not a new trend like tianna pointed out. it was out in the uk before kelis rocked them so we’re really just following europe’s lead. btw the new trend has been wide-leg jeans/trousers for a while now but only tall ppl seem to rock those well.
THESE JEANS ARE VERY SIMILAR HOW MEN WORE THEIR JEANS IN THE EARLY 1920′S….THE WORE HIGH TROUSERS. *FAST FORWARD TO 2007*…WOMEN ARE WEARING THEM THINKING THEY HAVE INVENTED SOMETHING NEW.
my mom is sooo happy that high wasted pants are back in style in the us…lol my mom’s a fashion designer. and yeah tianna’s right. it’s not a new trend. well, new to us…lol
i just wonder for a plus sized sista as myself, what’s available for us?!?! skinny jeans are available, but not everyone looks good in them. me included.
The jeans second from the left are a BLACK OWNED denim line named Jainesse . Jaycia is the designer and she is really killing the fashion game right now Kelis, Jessica Alba , Mandy Moore and many other’s wear her jeans. They are currently carried at Fred Segal, Petro Zillia, Nordstrom, Atrium and many other fine boutiques. Those jeans are called the Charlotte’s and they are the best sellers and instant classics. SUPPORT BLACK BUSINESS and visit more Jainesse at myspace.com/jainesse.

” But yea this style has been done to death in the UK.”
I love peculiar pieces, I stalk them lol but I hate these sort of trends because people grab on and they become too popularized, and then they’re dated… I think high waist jeans are…I think the only celebs you’ll see rocking them from now on will do so because they LOOK great in them. I don’t think it’s about the style anymore. And, in that way it’s okay to wear them, if they’re not the focal point of your outfit, if you’re just wearing them because they’re a great fitting pair of jeans.
But most women won’t do that, they’ll wear them like many of the ladies above, with tees or other easy to miss tops and accessories… Check how Kelis and Lauren Hill (who was the first to wear them here, yall forgot about her at the BET awards with the Fugees) wore theirs, they didn’t rely on the jeans, they paired them with equally stylish tops…
I love the style but I don’t have the body for it oh well there are more styles out there…
They already got my money!
Denim Analogy #1: Hi-waist jeans: Jainesse :: Hummingbird: Jamaica….
The hi-waist blue jeans (top row, 2nd image from left–available at Intuition online) are from Jainesse and there’s more hotness where that came from too Kelis, Jessica Alba, Eva Pigford, Maria Bello, and Mandy Moore have been rocking Jainesse signature hi-waist styles before it was a “fashion revival.”
You’re giving yourself a shout out? That’s neat as shi*! lol Do you design only jeans??
I question the comfort of those extra high pants, but Elise is killing it! Fabulous! I figured this was something I could never wear, but there was a girl in the store much shorter and curvier than me, and she had on a pair of wide leg ones, with this crazy blouse. She looked great. I don’t know if I’d buy them (I actually don’t know what stores have them), but I’d try them before I diss them completely.
FAT WOMEN PLEASE, DON’T TRY THIS STYLE, PLEASE FOR THE SAKE OF ALL OF OUR EYES. FAT WOMEN WHO CALL THEMSELF THICK, STAY WEARING SHIT THAT SHOULDN’T BE CAUGHT DEAD IN. IF YOU ARE EXTREMELY HIPPIE WITH BIG BUTT AND THIGHS, THIS LOOK IS A NO, NO FOR YOU.
I have these already (the ones Kimberly Elise is wearing). I love them. They only look cute on smaller women.
Love this lool, this style makes your ass look nice and round! But not for the thick or fat ladies!
LOL… It’s so funny, but all the trends lately have been for skinny girls… The drapy mini dresses, the skinny jeans…. And, then you’ve got the more body conscious silhouettes coming up for Spring…
I’m a thick girl, thick enough that I don’t do pieces that are unflattering on larger bottoms… That’s why I was never into those bubble dresses or potato sack dresses (see Beyonce in that Catharine Malandrino bubble dress, to see why I didn’t go there). But, as I am a Southern girl, I’m not averse to having a bigger bottom… So, I indulge myself. I’m into layering. I’m into jersey dresses, pencil dresses, pencil skirts… I’m into all these things lauded as “skinny girl trends…”
So, I will agree with you ladies, some things are meant for waifs, some pieces, either you’re 90 lbs or you can’t begin to look even okay in them; but, others… it’s a matter of opinion, and as our culture (and especially my southern heritage) celebrates stout bottoms and big legs, I see nothing wrong with wearing many things traditionally believed only for spectral girls…
THE END OF MY RANT lol
KELIS is such a trendsetter and style ICON.
high waste jeans are so cute…so 70′s…but i dont think all kinds of high waste jeans look good on me, im short and so i would need heels. and plus…im not so cuuuurrt round the low waste area..LMAO
Speaking from a UK point of view, high waisted jeans have not “triumphed” over low rise jeans. Here in the UK we have atleast 10 different fashion styles going on at once. High wasted jeans stand next to low rise jeans among others, they don’t cancel them out. I noticed American fashion is probably the slowest in the World. And you all only have one fashion going on at once, that everyone feels they have to copy. No individuality.
Some of you really need to travel, you could learn a lot from others. Not only in fashion.
I have the jeans Megan Good has on and she go them from Bare Feet. For $30.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
I hear you #84. It’s why I don’t bother even window shopping anymore–every store sells the same exact thing these days. I don’t ever remember it being this bad before. That’s why I’m like “screw it” and am designing my own clothing.
I’ve been looking for a pair of those jeans for the LONGEST. Thanks for posting that site up..I’ma go order 2 pairs now. lol
You should try shopping online, then… I mean, your own designs are inevitably the best, but you can find a variety of oddities online… I would say go thrifting, because I’m addicted to it, but it has become such the cliche lately (nearly every conceivable vintage style has been reproduced and is now available at every shop (both high and low end) you can think of)… I plan on putting a directory up in a few days (the site is pathetic now, because I’m busy writing, but I’ll have it in order soon), I’ve got quite the list of online shops, but you can do a “boutique” search on google and find some too… That’s if you’re interested in finding some unique pieces online… Anyway, I get what you’re saying…
that was to #86… anyway *sigh* back to the grind… ——>
Gotta get me some cause I definetly have the body for it.

Maybe it’s because I live in London, but you guys are a bit late with this one. High waisted trousers have been around for about a year!?!
I’m sorry but I am having a hard time reading the web addresses since they’re on the pants. If you’re able to make out what it says, can you please let me know???
