J. Holiday – Suffocate
J. Holiday, a DC native, has had so much success after the release of his hit single “Bed” that it was only a matter of time before they released a new single from his upcoming album, Back of My Lac (out October 2nd).
“Suffocate” was produced by Tricky Stewart and personally, I really love this song. It’s a nice, mellow R&B track, and I just think it’s a really good follow-up to what J. Holiday’s given us with “Bed”. From the other material that I’ve heard from his album, I think that he’s is gonna have a great album under his belt. So, you know we’ve gotta ask you what you think – Is it hot or not?

I love this song and its simplicity…I definitely think its a great follow to BED…
original concept with the suficate thing, this kid can sing unlike some other artists in the game so i think this is the best choice for a follow up,
he needs a cool video and a hot leading lady and he’ll do well, its good to see that his team didnt get him on a club song because rnb is lacking consistency

I luv BE WITH ME….I saw him preform last week @ the gatsby in Houston…and he can saaaaaaaang…his cd is gonna be good.
Actually I don’t think his vocal ability is really as good as people are saying in the previous posts. I mean he can hold a note, but he ain’t no Trey Songz, or no Brian Mcknight, Or even Chris Brow at that!!!!!! I do like the two singles Bed and this new one b/c it’s kind of setting the tone for RnB again, passionate songs like these. Not a fan of his voice, but like the music!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Heyyy, I like this. It’s mellow and smooth. I agree with #11 Bammm, I’m glad his follow-up single isn’t a club song, singing a ballad like this helps me appreciate his voice better. I will put this song on shuffle as soon as I take Bed off repeat. lol

I like it, but I doubt it would ever chart. It’s kinda bland. I think he’s just gonna be a one hit wonder unless he gets The Dream to write the rest of his songs.

Okay, I’m sorry, but I can’t not stand the song “Bed”, it has got to be one of the most annoying songs of the year – to me only I’m sure. Whenever it comes on, I HAVE to turn the radio station because it’s like nails on a chalk board to my ears. I’m sure this has to do with my age and not with the artist or the song. My R&B tastes are more along the lines of Musiq, John Legend, etc.

i’ve had this song on my Zune for a minute, i love it, i can relate to lyrics…its really good, better then his 2nd single “Be with me” or wuteva, J. needs to make a video for this, but it would be kinda weird to have 3 slow jams in a row…but I Luv this song, cant wait 4 the album!!!
