Kanye West feat. T-Pain – Good Life
So, Kanye West’s Graduation has leaked already. I’m sure you music savvy people have already gotten your mitts on the album. Graduation is just what I expected it to be – a good mixture of production and lyrics. It has some really great songs, but then it has its dull moments on certain songs, which sound like they could have appeared on Late Registration. But I am feeling the majority of the new material. Kanye tried some new things as far as production, but still stuck to his sampling guns. Stand out tracks include “I Wonder,” “Good Life,” “Flashing Lights,” and of course the host of singles that will be released from the album.

Graduation is set to release on the same day as 50 Cent’s Curtis, September 11th. I think that hip hop heads are probably excited to see who will come out on top with this Fiddy vs. Kanye. But all I’m saying is, I like what Kanye’s doing. Make sure you log on to Kanye’s official site, kanyewest.com, when the album releases. Also, make sure you log on to his MySpace and let ‘em know that CL sent you!

The only song I really like off of Curtis is “I’ll Still Kill ft. Akon” ..the rest is blah….

Why are yall being so mean? Since those two are going against each other on 9/11, why did u didn’t put 50 cent review album on there but you put kanye west as soon as possible? I think you should of put 50 cent album review on there too because it is not fair for the 50 cent fans….I have good respect for kanye west, but every song that 50 came out i liked…Kanye west had some good songs too, but right now i am not feeling those two songs that he has out now…And everyone is rooting for ”BUY KANYE WEST GRADUATION!!!”, but you don’t see the 50 cents fans bragging about it…Just do the 50 cent’s fans a favor and put the album review on there because it is not right to just promote kanye and forget about 50…

I The fact that 50′s music and content is internationally praised in stead of lyrics and substance speak volumes more so then any thing you can say to back track out of soundign like the fool you made your self into earlier. You big ballin’ shot callin….. in cairo and you feel 50′s life reflects more apon yours, riiiiiight. You and people like you are responsible for the decline of music like I said in the first place, you don’t know any better.
Those two tracks are hott!!!! I’m glad that you posted those two songs. I was starting to lose interest and enthusiasm! This has rejuvenated my enthusiasm.

My 2 cents: Is this rivalry really necessary? I’m not saying anything new by pointing out people have to prefer one or the other. They are both very different artists, if they were the same that would be BORING. That said, after listening to both albums I have to say I prefer Kanye’s. 50′s album is more upbeat, but as someone else pointed out his subject matter is not as varied as Kanye’s is. Kanye is lyrically clever and his music uses samples by songs the average hip-hop fan has never heard of. All of these things make his album a more interesting listen. Basically, what it comes down to is this: I listen to Kanye’s words whereas “Curtis” is about the beats. It doesn’t matter if 50 outsells Kanye in the end (although I hope that doesn’t happen) because Kanye’s album is more creative at the end of the day.
Furthermore Kanye is more relatable. How many people can say they can identify with being shot 9 times? I can’t wait to BUY Kanye’s album.

I was pissed when 50 had the nerve to say that the song “In da club” was a celebration of life. Dude had the nerve to compare it to that Tupac and Biggie song. Wtf? In no way, not even CLOSE, is 50 similar to Tupac or Biggie. Fuck that.
Kanye does have his dull moments, cause honestly when they both first came out, I didnt see anything special about neither. But I did acknowledge the fact that Kanye had more “Real talk” than 50 ever could. Especially after 50′s first album. And I’d rather listen to something that’s real over bullshit. Kanye has a soul and he loves music. He makes music b/c its in him and he wants to share it with us. He’s not using it as a way to get rich.
For about 95% of the rappers out there: Take away all those common topics of hoes, cars, gangsta life, money, and bling (pretty much any bullshit) that those rappers speak about and you know what you’ll have on your hands? A rapper (a joke really) that aint got nothin to rap about.

Heard half of Ye album and heard on on snippets of 50 Album. IDK, ‘ye has some bangers on there(Flashing Lights, Champion, Good Morning, and Barry Bonds). I have to get into the rest of it though. As for Currrrriiiitssss, can’t say…. It starts of nice, but then it just flatlines. Fire has to be the worst beat Dre produced, ever!! But I would say I Still Kill is one of the best songs I’ve heard this year. Akon proves he could make any song sound good, And DJ Khali has to be one of the better producers of the year(hear Game’s “My Bitch” if you want a example). Other then that, which CD will I cop? Both… Kanye’s from Best Buy, Currrriiittss from homie on the corner of Crenshaw & Martin Luther King Blvd. And I’m out like Michigan is out of the polls.

I was on the fence between the two but after hearing both albums (which i think a lot of people should do before they comment) It’s clear that Graduation has surpassed Curtis on a level of original creative content. 50′s rhymes are tight on Curtis but every track sounds either commercially indulgent or like recycled G-unit tracks. I will download Curtis but definately buy Graduation on September 11th because it is a classic.

I listened to both and they’re both worth checking out. Some people choose either Kanye or 50 depending on their in the media personality which makes no sense bcuz most likely you don’t know them personally and you either like their music or you don’t. None of them has given the public any real personal insight to their character to receive so much hate on either end. Anyway, go and buy which ever one you like or both. Just support the artist in the end.
