J. Holiday – Suffocate
Upon listening to J. Holiday’s debut album, Back of My Lac, I see that he has a little something for the ladies and the thugs. He’s the new blend of street and sweet. The Capitol Records signee says that he gathers his inspiration for his album from living the street life. But although he draws from his many experiences there, he takes a step back and says: “The streets are not anything to glamorize. I’m trying to let my people back home know that I’m with them. DC has a lot of talent and I’m just trying to show people that we are here.”
But it’s obvious that with the hit single “Bed,” produced by Los Da Mystro and written by theDream, J. Holiday also draws from his experiences with the ladies. The DC native is to release his debut album on October 2nd, so make sure you check it out. Aside from the obvious “Bed,” stand out tracks include The Clutch’s “Fatal,” and his follow-up single, “Suffocate.” The major disappointment for me was the fact that J. didn’t include a few songs from his mixtape that I’d really developed a liking for.

i think his album will be a disappointment,considering i was expectin more…so far “Bed” and “Suffocate” are the only songs that im REALLY in love with.”Fatal” is good but i dont get excited about it as everybody else.like i said,i dont know if “Pusher” is on the album but i like that one too.
and somebody mention TREY SONGZ…his album is a hit!i love it,not more than his first album but i have a few favorites(No Clothes On,Sex For Yo Stereo,Fly Together,Last Time)Set of Wings is a beautiful song too!
Grub On makes me laugh,sounds like somethin r.kelly gave to him.
i dont think Set Of Wings is on his album…is it on a mixtape or somethin?
i like both songs and the fact that he is from DC..that’s the place to be!!

I heard J. Holiday’s song at BET and its not what I expected after hearing Bed and Fetal. I agree with whoever said that it sounds like 2 different albums but I guess thats because the first 3 songs are about struggling in the hood then he moves to the baby making music. I would give the cd 2.5 out of 5 but I would still buy it becuase it might grow on me.
As far as Trey Songz go I heared it on MTV.com and I’ve been bumpin it since Thursday night. I would give this cd 3.5 out of 5.

Well it is all or nothing the album is out today the heezy with singles.. I want my plate full of all the songs.. I know I am going get full of this album.. J holiday got some good ish…

J Holiday cd is the sh*t. I love all 14 songs on the album. J has songs for the fellas and the ladies. Back of my lac is one of those albums you just put in your cd player and drive. J Holiday keep up the good work and don’t worry bout them haters. Your sexy, good singer and your a very humble person. I’m so glad I got to meet you I support you 100%.
