What she needs to stop making albums because YOU SAID SO?!?!?, I mean somebody must like her voice and her music cause the woman can sell albums. I am sorry, if I hate you voice so much I am not going to buy your cd, but she has sold somewhere like more than 50 or so million worldwide. Jennifer is no Whitney, Mariah, or such, but she has a pleasant voice. I don’t think she looks ridiculous I think she knows how to go from hood to chic in .21 seconds and there is nothing wrong with that. All women have to ability to do that. J Lo is the epitome of fresh. This girl can rock anything and look good in it. I don’t necessarily think she can sing but she has some type of appeal. But in the dressing game ,I think she is number 1. second is my girl Tracee Ellis Ross . but on the last season of girlfriends she was slipping. I know it aint about her dressing game but I just had to throw that in there.
Why is it so important for a pop singer to be able to sing? Successful pop artists of the past = Madonna & Janet. Could either of them sing? Can they sing today? No one expects them to know how to sing. You had Mariah and Whitney for that – who were making R&B music. Today you have Beyonce for your real R&B music…although B’DAY was kind of void of that. Mariah even put out a solid R&B album, surprisingly. But anyway, Britney and Rihanna? No one expects them to know how to sing. Just like no one expects J Lo to blow. They’re Pop entertainers. The market for Pop is larger than R&B which is why Beyonce rides the fence and Jill Scott can barely go platinum. Even Alicia at the VMAs was looking kinda popish with the boots and the long flowing hair and skin tight get-up. It sells! Alicia is true to her music though which is why her current single is so soulful. She’s no sellout.

I actually do use my talents. I have a “career” that I was educated for, I am well-paid , enjoy and take pride in what I do because it positively enhances and impacts the lives of others . Sorry save the “so she got more money than you” routine for the mindless 9th graders and the incoming freshmens. It will not work on grown people .
