JA RULE INTERVIEW W/ COMPLEX CATCHING HEAT

Thursday, September 13, 2007

jarule.jpg
Photo: Universal Motown.

Ja Rule recently sat down with Complex for an exclusive interview on his new album, 50 Cent, politics, and more. He is currently catching heat for what he said about homosexuality in the media.

The rapper mentions the Jena 6 controversy and claims his kids can’t even watch T.V. in the afternoon because MTV is promoting homosexuality. Peep the snippets.

On Congress & homosexuality:

“…They got my man Doug Morris under fire and shit, they got him going down to go speak to Congress about hip-hop lyrics, are you fucking serious? There’s a fucking black kid right now about to get 25 years for having a fight with some white kids over hanging the nooses over the white tree, lets get to that. Let’s get into shit like that, because that’s what’s tearing up America, not me calling a woman a bitch or a hoe on my rap songs. And if it is, then we need to go step to Paramount, and fucking MGM, and all of these other motherfuckers that’s making all of these movies and we need to go step to MTV and Viacom, and lets talk about all these fucking shows that they have on MTV that is promoting homosexuality, that my kids can’t watch this shit. Dating shows that’s showing two guys or two girls in mid afternoon. Let’s talk about shit like that! If that’s not fucking up America, I don’t know what is.” [SOURCE]

Dang MTV is on everyone’s shit list right now. No word on when his new album, The Mirror is hitting stores. Another snippet from the interview is after the cut.

on 50 Cent:

“That’s the difference people don’t understand. Everyone talks about the beef I had with 50; he has beef with all types of rappers, but I’m the only rapper who went and handled my business and went and hollered at him man to man… And the moment I heard he had a record about me, I knew where he resided, I knew where he hung out, I went and seen and him. “Homie, you have a problem with me? What’s happening? You ain’t got to rhyme about it, I’m right here in front of your face.” So that’s how our situation took place, and I handled my business with 50 and 50 knows that. That’s why I’m such a threat to him, that’s why he doesn’t like me so much.”

I hope him mentioning 50 isn’t his way of promoting his new album. N E Who, He’s right about MTV and people needing to support and actually do something about the Jena 6 situation. I hope he’s doing something, like myself (I’ll actually be down there on the 20th).

as if ja rule needed to lose anymore fans he`s gonna say some fuck`d up shit like that about gays. one thing i will say is that most of the people behind the celebrity blog coverage- both hip-hop & beyond; are nine times out of ten gay.

& i bet money alot of them ain`t gonna take kindly to those remarks.
Ja should take a long look in “the mirror” before releasing an album because doing so will only result in “murrrrrdduuuuuhhh” of his career. his comments made in the complex interview have sealed the deal on his reputation with me & to top it off it
ain`t like he`s a true mc anyways. go cop the new kanye & let this one “rule ” himself out.

thas how i feel.

Oh please!

Why are his kids watching MTV in the afternoon anyway? Shouldn’t they be watching Nickelodeon or the Disney Channel? I don’t see why he’s complaining. Maybe he should be more concerned about the negative message rap videos are sending instead of some MTV dating show his kids have no business watching in the first place.

I agree with most of Ja’s words. Its true tho, MTV be showing that NEXT show with homosexuals all tongue-kissing at 3pm!! Its ridiculous! They need to go back to showing videos. Why doesn’t congress talk to the head honchos of these entertainment outlets, let them sweat it out a bit. They’re just hitting up the artists who at times are just a reflection of society….

Amen to the Jena 6. Let’s really bring that to the forefront .Oprah did a show with the Rutgers Women’s B-ball team about the Don Imus situation, I hope she does a show about this blatant injustice on these young men and the black people in general down there.
Back on topic…Ja Rule they do have parental controls for tv, but I agree rappers are not the only individuals who can be held responsible for the negative images that are affecting our culture. Yet and still, don’t act like you labeling women as hoes and b*tches in your music, don’t influence the ways that children, teenagers and some adults act and react to one another.
As far as 50 goes-boo to the both of you. You are 2 grown a** men acting like kids beefing over some nonsense.SMH I don’t feel like commenting anymore on this immature mess

He chooses to talk about homosexuality when there are millions of other points he could’ve made? Being gay should be the LEAST of anyone’s worries, its not like we’re commiting a crime, were just simply wanting to be with someone just like any straight person. If anything, I applaud MTV for willing to put it out there, show people that its REAL, its not a choice we make but something that we have to deal with. Its raising more awareness of the whole thing. Sorry Ja, but you lose respect from me, BIG time.. NEXT!

..oddly enough I have a new found respect for Ja Rule. His comments about MTV had quite a bit of truth in it…Although, I don’t agree with calling women out of their names it is def true that not only do the rappers do it but so do the movies so if we are going to get the rappers let’s tackle everyone. Of course they would never think of attacking MGM etc cause that’s where the big bucks are! Interesting to hear him say he can’t let his children watch MTV. Good to hear that he is teaching morals in his house. Interesting.

I don’t think Ja Rule was knocking alternative life styles. I think he was saying that he doesn’t agree with it being on tv at 3 in the afternoon. I agree with him. Yes, homosexuality is real. Yes, it should be addressed…but should it be at 3 in the afternoon? As strange as it might sound coming from an openly gay woman, but I wouldn’t want my children watching homosexuals kissing or hetrosexuals kissing on the first date etc. I really don’t want them watching homosexuals kissing because I don’t want them to get confused. I was born this way and I don’t want my children to get confused by seeing a woman kissing a woman…granted I don’t have kids but if I did I wouldn’t want them to get too confused at an early age.

Actually, you should allow your kids to watch gays kiss. That way they’ll be better able to deal with it when they see it for the first time in real life. Keeping your kids in the dark may keep them safe, but they won’t be able to relate to anything happening in the real world.

Ja Fool can’t talk shit about gays, cause I thought he was a closet case homo at one point–but then he disappeared off the face of the earth. Look at him–the dude is about 4 FOOT 9 INCHES and he talkin all this shit to sound hard. I hate 50 Cent, but at least he’s more real than this rat lookin muthafucka.

Also, he’s talking about two DIFFERENT, UNRELATED THINGS HERE:

“There’s a fucking black kid right now about to get 25 years for having a fight with some white kids over hanging the nooses over the white tree, lets get to that. Let’s get into shit like that, because that’s what’s tearing up America, not me calling a woman a bitch or a hoe on my rap songs.”

Two things:

1. I’ll give him props to mention the Jena 6 case, cause that is FUCKED UP AND RACIST.

2. WHAT THE FUCK DOES CALLING A WOMAN A BITCH OR A HOE HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE JENA 6??!! THEY ARE TWO FUCKING DIFFERENT THINGS. NEITHER OF THEM ARE RELATED IN ANY FUCKING WAY–THEY ARE TWO MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE ISSUES. THIS NIGGA NEEDS TO GET SOME LOGIC. JENA 6 IS A FUCKED UP SITUATION AND RACISM BY THE AUTHORITIES. BUT WHAT RAPPERS SAY ABOUT WOMEN AND THE WAY THEY DEGRADE THEM IS JUST AS DISGUSTING, CAUSE U GOT A GENERATION OF YOUNG BLACK YOUTHS WHO WILL THINK THAT SHIT IS COOL!

As for MTV–ALL dating shows need to be scrapped–cause they all TRASH SHIT. Whether it’s promoting gay, straight, lesbian, bi relationships, that shit ALL needs to be cancelled. MTV used to be hot, but in the last 5 years they play NO music anymore, and have replaced it with mindless gameshows, reality TV and stupid documentaries about spoilt lil bitches whining about they bday party when they should try to get a good education.

IF THEY DIDN’T THEN THEY WOULD BE GETTING HEAT OVER THE FACT THAT THEY ARE NOT ENTERTAINING THAT COMMUNITY..DAMN THEY CAN’T WIN. ALL PARENTS HAVE TO DO IS PICK UP THA DAMN PHONE AND CALL THE CABLE COMPANY AND BLOCK THE CHANNELS THAT THEY DON’T WANT THERE KIDS TO SEE.

Hate MTV–and most TV these days anyways. While we had overblown, crazy relationships only on soaps, now we see them everywhere. Those “dating” shows and Real World, Laguna Beach, The Hills, etc aren’t promoting HEALTHY,MATURE romantic relationships. EVERYTHING is about meaningless sex–something that not only children need to not see, but teenagers and adults as well. Y’all wonder why relationships are so screwed up these days? And why kids are learning way too much of the wrong thing at too young an age? You can say parents control the TV all you want, but in this internet age a kid can get their hands on anything they like–I don’t even watch Flavor of Love or whatever but I can go on YouTube and find videos of that ridiculous show quite easily. Or even just the MTV website.

I’m also glad he commented on the jena 6 ordeal. u have rappers from the region and area that saying squat. look at lil wayne,bg,big tymerz, juvenile and a host of other rappers from there and they aint saying shit. because these artists can support there kind from the same place I can’t support these rappers anymore. these rappers have died along with the bling era for me.

The Ja, really made some sense. I agree with him totally. MTV does have some crazy shows on during the day. Especially around the time kids are home from school watching the shows.

As for 50.. Let it die already. There are bigger issues in the world to beef about: poverty, the homeless, racial discrimination, and the list continues….. I am not going to purchase anything because of a beef. If I like your work, I buy simple as that. All that beefing is just stupid and adds to the stereotype of AAs.

@ #20, Completey!! lol. Of course I’m sure if asked he’d probably say he never curses in front of his kids or lets them listen to his music though. smh @ the stupidity of it all.

I wonder if he would have felt the same way about MTV when he was at the height of his career and his videos (IT’S MURRRRDDDDAH) stayed in heavy rotation? I’m not in agreement with MTV’s practices but I don’t think Ja can serve as a moral compass either.

True, there are bigger fish to fry out there in the world but celebrities are too quick say take the spotlight off of everything I’ve done because someone else is doing worse. No, let’s not take the spotlight off you. Let’s get on your ass too. Let’s address it all. Let’s address inappropriate lyrics from rappers that claim they’re just tellling the story of their lives; let’s address the blantant disrespect of kids by parents who say “do as I say, not as I do” yet punish their children for not understanding the difference; let’s address the overly sexualized images and content that both rappers and top execs create and condone, let’s address it all.

I hear what you’re saying Ja but you’re the last person I would take seriously. Live it, speak it. What you talking about right now is like Puffy going off about the importance of birth control and abstinence.

How is Ja Rule going to relate being disgusted by gays kissing to protecting the innocence of his kids, when HIS KIDS probably can’t even listen to HIS SONGS! Step up and be accountability. Your lyrics disrespect black women - not unlike the same black women you married and its damaging to black kids - the same black kids you purportedly are tryiing to protect. Stop being homophobic and stop being misogynistic. Forget MGM and MTV, do your part JA Rule!

The whole “gay” issue is fucking tired and lame. People act like it’s the biggest damn threat to all of society. Yawn.

Politicians use it when it’s time to vote to get your attention and divert your attention from the real issues.

Washed up has-been rappers use it to get the blogs all hot.

The real issues are that there’s a g_ddamn WAR going on and three soldiers who wrote an op-ed in the NYT about their REAL experiences in Iraq were recently killed (one critically injured) . Coincidence? The Jena Six. And yes, Jah, violence in RAP, you ignorant fuck. What the HELL are you kids doing watching MTV at ANY time of the day? MTV’s programming is questionable 24/7.

You heard this one before - THEY SHOULD READ A G_DDAMN BOOK!

Can I ask one question:

What parent would REALISTICALLY look to MTV for moral values for their kids? NEXT is a raunchy show with or without the gay people on it. Children shouldn’t be watching a dating show, period. I agree it shouldn’t be on during the afternoon though. Besides maybe the TRU-LIFE series, tell me what show you would want your little ones to watch on MTV these days.

In the words of Kat Williams: “Don’t worry…I’ll wait.”
***waiting***

And I’m supposed to hear this from a rapper who’s lyrics his kids can’t even listen to? Everyone knows that hiphop helps to influence more kids that any one episode of next. It’s definitely the pot calling the kettle black.

(SIDE NOTE: Any one who’s in the music industry knows that some of the gayest people in the industry are those that protest it the most…so many of these “straight” rappers ain’t so “straight”)

And Ja Rule, give up on that 50 Cent situation…you lost.

There are far more greater issues of concern…ones that actually do affect people. Talk about Jena 6…talk about that woman who was raped and tortured for a week by a group of white people…so much more to talk about that this nonsense.

63.

Why Lawd

Thursday, September 13, 2007 /

MTV and it’s shows can be ridiculous and over the top, but I don’t have any personal animosity about them showing same sex couples. I don’t like to see ANYONE slobbering all over each other, gay or straight, so it makes no difference to me.

On the long list of things that are messing America up, I don’t think homosexuality is even in the top 20. Sex is smeared all over TV, but if it’s people of the same sex it’s more disgusting? Smut is smut regardless. MTV does need to get back into the actual MUSIC in music television.

And why even talk about 50? He’s right, 50 does have beef with everybody but it’s so tired that no one even pays attention to that anymore. Ja, you did not make a solid argument for why you should call women bitches and hoes, instead choosing to deflect by throwing up the gay shield. And mentioning Jena 6 does not strengthen your argument either. Please sit down, you’re hardly relevant.

I agree with Ja. I’m not against lesbians or homosexuals but the same way i don’t want to see a man and woman tonguing it down in public/tv between the hours of 6 am - 10pm is the same way i don’t want to see two women or two women doing it. We are all entitled to our PERSONAL lives, why does it have to be so public. There is a station on cable called the HERE Network…play that mess on there or at 2 in the morning.

I was watching MTV one morning and NEXT came on, I was getting dressed not paying attention, when my oldest & youngest come into the room just in time to see two men together…i ran to the remote and turned the tv off. That’s just too much.

In this society we want to act like everything is okay and i’m not saying that everything should be swept under the rug but there is a time and place for everything.

JA RULE HAS A VALID POINT-

IT’S RACIALLY MOTIVATED-HIP HOP IS PREDOMINANTLY BLACK RAP ARTIST

THE MOGUL COMPANIES HE MENTIONED ARE RAN BY WHITE COLLAR BUSINESS MEN WHO CAN’T GET ENOUGH OF THAT DOLLAR

THEY JUST ATTACK HIP HOP BECAUSE THEY WANT TO PRETEND THEY CARE AND ARE DOING SOMETHING ABOUT IT

JUST LIKE LOCKING UP THE DUDES ON THE CORNERS HUSTLING OR FOR CARRYING OR SELLING A GUN BUT THEY DON’T GO AFTER THE PEOPLE WHO FLY THE SHIT OVER HERE ON THEIR PLANES

WHY-CAUSE THEY ARE IN IT-IF THEY FOCUS THE ATTENTION ON THE SMALL PERSON IT WILL GET THE ATTENTION OF THE BIG WIG

#10– I agree. I don’t know wtf they’re showing on MTV these days, cuz I’ve outgrown it after the Beavis and Butthead days, but PARENTS, there is a simple solution to protect your kids from viewing trash on TV. Just use your cable’s remote control and change the settings. You can block channels by rating as well and put a password on that mutha.
My daughter only can access about 10 channels on her TV, and they’re all children’s stations.
You’re in control, not your kids.

Cosign with #53, some people act as if homosexuality is the biggest threat to society. It doesn’t matter if rappers like 50 cent, Snoop Dogg, or Ja Rule call black women bitches and hoes all day long. That some of these rappers have half naked women in their videos that reinforces stereoytpes that black women are oversexed creatures with no brains. It’s o.k. for black women to be degraded in music video’s but as soon as a television show comes on where there’s two men or women kissing it’s a problem? If I had children I wouldn’t let my child watch MTV period. Children should be reading a book or watching something educational like Sesame Street learning their math and how to spell. I think some of the people who agree with Ja Rule should have their priorities in order.

As for gay stuff on TV, I agree that kids should not have access to that or any kind of straight overtly sexual content. But I believe I heard it stated above that it is everywhere: ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, etc. What about those daytime shows like Maury (You Are Not The Father), Springer, with it’s depraved guests prancing around, and even the court shows which have some gay content. It’s all on in the daytime.

So it’s here. Deal with it. Look at the big picture and EDUCATE YOUR CHILDREN. Teach them the value of READING. Even train them at a certain age to read the newspaper and give them a sense of what’s going on in the world around them.

I do believe it’s up to the parent to educate their children about sexuality, IF THEY CHOOSE TO DO SO. Unfortunately, a lot of parents don’t and our children are learning it from TV. That goes for BET with their soft-porn rap videos as well as MTV for their nihilistic programming.

But your kids are going to learn about questionable things like gay, promiscuity and the like from the playground and school, whether you like it or not. It’s a hot issue, but there are much bigger threats like rampant teen pregnancy and heterosexually transmitted teen AIDS, not to mention national and world events that will further impact your children

Take just a moment and substitute the word Black (or Chinese, Japanese, Puerto Rican or Mexican) for the word homosexual in little man’s tirade and then tell me if this makes any sense. It’s a damn shame that in 2007 (notice I didn’t say 1907) that we’re even having a conversation like this. As people of color, we will stand behind our men and women when they’re jobless, hooked on drugs, selling dope on the street, have nine kids with eight different partners, on lock down for any variety of reasons, etc….but we’ll often cast aside our brothers and sisters because of who they LOVE. Tragic. Truly tragic. PS: Please don’t get me started on the whole bible thing, either. Don’t you worry about how me and mine are getting into heaven; we’ll do just fine, thank you. But you ought to think twice about YOUR entrance if all you can do is invest your time speading hatred and intolerance.

I really appreciate that you just took the perspective of what you see pertaining to homosexuality and not making judgments. And I agree on the part, homos are portrayed in a promiscuous way on that channel (so are heteros). But I know that there are gay (like straight relationships) that are monogamous, pretty conservative, and healthy. (You’ll probably see that more on broadcast tv (rarely) rather than MTV). People have to put those type of relationships out there more to prove the homosexuals won’t bite!!!!

I do agree that we have more important things for Congress to focus on right now. It seems like they are trying to blame all their problems on hip hop when it is television also like JaRule said, movies, explicit cartoons, and rock and roll is just as bad chanting satanic stuff and talking bout killin urself and all that. AMAZING!!!!!!!! People have no problem with him calling black women out of their name and PROUDLY promoting MURRRRRRRDAAAAAHHHHHH!!! , but they have a problem seeing two women or two men on a date? Black folks, please.

And just like a rapper to not take responsibility for their actions by trying to place the focus on something else. The get on my nerve with this whole attitude of, “why do people care of we call women out of their names on our records that kids hear, when there is global warming. It doesn’t matter that we promote materialism and violence on our records because there are people in Africa who are hungry.”

Rappers and the Hip Hop community in general refuse to see or understand the role and influence they have on society, particularly the youth. They have no grasp of how much they influence fashion, swagger, language, dance, attitudes, etc. And when you try to point it out to them, they start pulling out the “But children are hungry in Africa” joint. Give me a break Ja Rule.

First off, I am no Ja Rule fan. He sucks….

However…he makes some good points and honest observations:

1. Jena 6 is a glaring reminder of America’s true spirit.

2. The accusations of vulgarity and foolishness in entertainment should ALSO be placed at the feet of the major media houses.

3. Hollywood has been ‘aggressively’ pushing the homosexual agenda (political and social) and lifestyle, and has been doing so for about 7 years now. I know of NO OTHER agenda — other than the routine ‘white supremacy in sex and money’ — that has received more support.

You know, to be honest, I’ve canceled my cable and regular TV and I subcribe to Netflix and Blockbuster Online. That way, I get all the movies I CHOOSE to pay for and watch, plus all the TV shows I CHOOSE to pay for and watch. Mostly everything that I like from Top Chef to The Wire is available on DVD anyway, so I don’t feel like I’m supporting a cable company that has me by the cajones. It’s MUCH cheaper, too.

I’m not really missing anything. Any news can be gleaned on the internet, and even the networks have their shows ready for downloads on the internet. Perhaps some parents might consider this. You can actually create your child’s viewing list. Most Nickelodeon and Discovery Channel shows are available on DVD as well. You can carefully monitor programming and send the shows back in the mail or choose to buy the ones your kids like the most without any commercials influencing them.

Just an idea…….

Well I disagree, I don’t think it’s wrong. I thinks it’s something natural. But that’s OK, we are all entitled to our opinion. But at least you were not hateful about it. We can talk back in forth about how you and I perceive this but perhaps in another arena ( I don’t want this to get off topic). It’s just that I know a lot of gay people personally that said they would not want to put themselves through this stigma by choice. The way I see it, if it was a choice it would have been defeated a long time ago.

Rap music is entertainment. It has a parental advisory sticker on the cover if parents dont want their kids to listen dont buy the records. Same as rated R movies.
vides can only go so far or they are not going to show it on TV. A few women dancing with bathing suits on is no worse than Baywatch on primtime TV.
The problem is hip hop is a black thing and spread all over the world when everyone thought it would be a fad abd fizzle outt . So it gets picked apart and sh*tted on by white america who are mad that their children are now the biggest hip hop music consumer and imitators. Freedom of speech is for everyone including rappers. If the Ku Klux Klan can have a rally in front of a court building denouncing races and saying what they wish. Then rappers can say b*tch hoe or whatever the hell else we want to say. DONT GET MAD TITO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The thing is, I believe religion is blown WAY out of proportion, so god created me to be a homosexual just to be damned to hell from the get go?? I believe in my heart god is love, & that’s the one simple thing I think we should all live by. If homosexuality is a sin, then so is eatting shellfish, & we should be allowed to have slaves still right? I mean its all in the bible, I’ve done my research, & the more I’ve read it, the more I stray from it, I think man wrote the bible in their OWN words, & have twisted SO much around. The god that I know loves me for who I am, & wants us to be who we are, ill be damned if I have some preacher trying to CURE me of my gayness. It seems as if the people who have such an issue with it are closet homo’s themselves! They’d rather live their lives in fear & lie to themselves, instead of embracing who they are & just try to live life the best they can. Ok..some of this ish is going way too far. Imus calls the Rutgers girls team nappy headed hoes and guess what…he gets to revert attention to hip hop. Anyone on this site plz quote ANY rapper when he baically states a certain group of women are nappy headed hoes or B’s…went on radio or tv and said it? They mention women they encourter or have seen in the hood. People get a grip..their are nuccas and b’s out there!! What do you call girls that specifically target rappers, bball players etc. Do these idiots out here also Ms. O think Imus’s ancestors were saying oh…look at that pretty, good hair black woman. Remember..white men use to rape our women and even kill them. So all of a sudden, we are supposed to believe that Hip Hop created b’s, hoes etc. Now they want to focus on hip hop cuz its mainstream now..Im not a homophobic but doesn’t this activity kinda lead to AIDS? Im just saying….I dont think saying the N word or saying B is going to kill you. But they constantly promote that on MTV..that leads to more undercover dudes hooking up w/ other men then crossing the tracks back to women. Did Hip Hop lyrics cause a woman in VA to be raped, beaten & tortured? I mean they did say thats what they do to N’s around their area. Oh yeah Jay Z said N in one of his lyrics and that caused this white group to go off. Also cause a white student to hang nooses from a tree and use racial slurs…its ALL hiphop’s fault. Do people honestly believe people want to see all these rich rappers when the prediction was that Hip Hope wouldn’t be around. One last thing…I wish we would get over the N word used in rap lyrics. We took a derogatory word and used it to our benefit. Then we come back and say that was a demeaning word in history towards our race…please some of us are still eating damn chittlins (pig intestines)..that to me is the most degrading thing cuz in some cases thats all the slavemasters would give your people. Total disgrace but we trippin off a word~

You gay people kill me…”Oh we’re not a threat to society” “Oh their discriminating”…STFU …When a GROWN man acts and carries himself as if he is a woman, you are discriminating against yourself. You’re emmulating the stereotype, just like these phony rappers…

Question: Why is it whenever someone says something about gay people, the majority of the gay community respond by saying: “oh he gay too”…

Can’t even go into Lenox without seeing a dude “smack his lips” like he a chick. disgust.

#129 i feel ur statement on children is a bit ignorant cos i know that children are very influential towards each other, and can be influenced by anyone and anything, and yes, it is up to the parents to teach their child wat they want to teach them, but without that, a child can become wayward, so you can’t use that as a general statement for everyone with kids, cos some people don’t teach there children right..

The thing is, I’m NOT picking it up from the bible, if you really wanna know, I go to this site http://www.nderf.com. That site has changed my views seriously, reading stories about people who have died & been revived, & they tell their stories about what they’ve experienced in the afterlife, life is so simple yet we make it so complicated, check it out, it might open your eyes to some things in the world. All I know is it has brought me a LOT of peace, & its helped me realize that I am what god made me to be, & that there is nothing wrong with it. =) go check it out yall.

PS - I’m not trying to CHANGE ur beliefs, just simply trying to give u insight FROM a homosexual’s perspective.

There are basic rules in the bible to follow and if I choose not to obey one of them, then I might as well not obey the whole thing. I just hope you open your mind to what I’m saying. Do the people who cringe when they see men kissing on TV also cringe when they see three women grinding on each other in a music video? How about when they see women portayed as jump offs for being with five or six different men? What about men who brag about being with multiple women at the same time - menage a trois style? Do they cringe then? Does the TV get turned off when there are unmarried baby mommas and baby daddys shown on TV? And do these same people cringe when they see someone’s head getting blown to pieces in a movie? Do they cringe when a child listens to gangsta rap or plays video games that depict violence?

Just asking….

Morality doens’t fit inside a little box that says Choose One. True morality is broad, encompassing and specific. It kills me how people become experts on morals at the very moment they decide not to act “immoral”. lol

But the thing is being gay isn’t an issue that you can just GET over. Its not an illness, its not a disease, its just an attraction & wanting to be with someone of the same sex! By no means do I think its right for men to go out & sleep with anyone they can sleep with. All I’m looking for is someone to share my life with. The only way I can put it is imagine how it is being with a woman for you right? You long for that companionship. Trust me, I’ve TRIED to be with women, but its not there for me, its like I’d be living a lie, pretending to be in love with someone just cuz society says that’s the way it should be. I find happiness being with a man, emotionally, physically, & spiritually. I know its hard for straight people to understand, simply because they don’t have to go thru it.

Most of television sucks and have BS programming because people are tuning in. The majority of people who watch tv watch the crap that is being televised. VH1 keeps bringing back the flava and NY and mtv play those stuoid date shows and BET play the crap it plays because the more people that tune in the more money sponsors pay to advertise in that time slot hence the more money that station makes. It’s all about the money. Nobody in the television industry cares about what your kids watch. So you have to care.

Its all our fault when the N word is used, we sell guns in America -companies benefit, our vice president even shoots someone in the face…but rappers says gun in rap music and like Chris Rocks says…oh congressional hearings. Thats BS. MTV will ban Janet for showing one breast which is natural but then they run stuff on tv about gay people etc. Someone said heterosexual blacks (espeically women) have the highest HIV…there is a reason for that too. Im not against Gays but all for Hip Hop…people need to stop the madness about us causing all this ish that goin on right now. #148 PLZ, I understand about there being more than the gay thing, it’s just that I don’t understand how a group of people who were, and still are, looked down upon for no reason other than becus the majority did it, can turn around n do the same thing to another group of people for the same reason…As far as hip hop is concerned, these RAPPERS have to take accountability. Im not sayin it’s their fault that ppl end up doing stuff, becus it’s the parent’s fault to raise their own kids. Rap City has more of an impact in the hood than school does, and anyone who’s honest knows it does. The problem is all of the street shit they bring onto the big screen. How u go to Hollywood, become a film and hip-hop star, and u still livin ya life and sayin shit in the media that sounds like u still livin up in the projects. Celebrity and hoodrat dont mix for long, becus u have to understand the business side of things. When rappers promote havin bling n money n what not, hoodratz, both young and old follow right behind. They got their bling, rimz, and a nice roach filled place to live in apt 17J in the _____ (insert the name of the most “gangsta” projects here) Houses.

All Im saying is celebrated and glorifed ignorance, is still ingorance. And everyone keeps talkig about how THE MAN is attacking Hip Hop, when THE MAN is the one signing these acts (purposely, because black folks eat it up), and getting all of the profits.

And yea, white teens are the biggest supporters, but thats becus they get off on rebelling against what their parents say during teen years. But unlike stupid black ppl, they’re listening to it while they’re studying to pass the SAT. The black kid meanwhile listens to it and decides this is going to be his way out of the hood too, just like 50, his idol. Meanwhile every kid in his old classroom (before he dropped out cus school was “sum bullshit”) is thinkin the same thing.

I get so tired of homosexual trying to make ppl accept their lifestyle . I don’t care if it’s a choice or not stay your ass in the closet!! We were not created to be with the same sex. Just because television advertise it and everyone says ” let them live their life” doesn’t mean I have to like it. I’LL SAY THIS AND KEEP IT MOVIN MY BROTHER IS GAY AND HE CONSTANTLY TALKS ABOUT HIS RELATIONSHIP VERY INTIMATE DETAILS AND ALL-MY PEEPS IS FROM THE OLE SCHOOL WE OF COURSE LOVE HIM UNCONDITIONALLY BUT WE ALSO HAVE OTHER YOUNG CHILDREN IN THE FAMILY THAT ARE AROUND WHEN HE GOES ON ABOUT MY MATE/MY COMPANION, MY HUSBAND SO FORTH AND SO ON YOU GET MY DRIFT

THOSE MESSAGES ARE VERY CONFUSING TO YOUNG CHILDREN WHO HAVE NOT EVEN ESTABLISHED THEIR SEXUAL IDENTITIES-IF THEY SHOULD CHOOSE TO DATE THE SAME SEX WHEN THEY ARE OLDER THAT SHOULD BE THEIR OWN DECISION AND NOT BECAUSE OF THE INFLUENCE OF OTHERS-

HOW DO YOU EXPLAIN WHY A MAN IS SAYING THAT HE HAS A HUSBAND TO A 3 YEAR OLD? ESPECIALLY IF IT GOES AGAINST YOUR MORALS OR YOU HAVENT DISCUSSED SEXUALITY WITH A CHILD?

I FEEL AS THOUGH SOME GAY PEOPLE TRY TO FORCE PEOPLE TO ACCEPT THEIR RELATIONSHIPS BY GOING OVERBOARD BY REFERRING TO THEIR MATE/LOVER/HUSBAND ETC. IT’S LIKE I’M MARRIED AND I DON’T SAY MY HUSBAND ALL THE TIME OR OFFER GRAPHIC DETAILS ABOUT WHAT WE DO SEXUALLY SO OPENLY, NOT EVEN TO MY GIRLFRIENDS.

MY BROTHER AND I HAVE ALWAYS HAD A VERY CLOSE RELATIONSHIP AND DISCUSSED EVERYTHING EXCEPT INTIMATE SEX DETAILS BUT EVERY SINCE HE HAS ” COME OUT” HE TALKS TO ME ABOUT THIS-ALTHOUGH IT MAKES ME UNCOMFORTABLE TO A DEGREE I ENDURE IT BECAUSE I’M AFRAID THAT HE WILL ACCUSE ME OF BEING HOMOPHOBIC-THAT’S NOT THE CASE BUT I AM A HETEROSEXUAL AND I CAN RELATE TO HETEROSEXUAL SEX-WHAT IN THE HELL DO I HAVE IN COMMON OR CAN I ELABORATE REGARDING THEIR SEXUAL RELATIONSHIP? IT’S WIERD AND HARD TO EXPLAIN-IT’S LIKE YOUR GRANDMOTHER TALKING TO YOU ABOUT SHE GETS HER FREAK ON-TMI

TOO MUCH DAMN INFORMATION-KEEP THAT TO YOURSELF

THIS IS MY OPINION AND WHAT I’VE EXPERIENCED-SO DON’T JUMP ALL OVER ME FOR ME STATING JUST THAT

This discourse is both interesting and sad. It is interesting because you get to see how people really feel about things that they don’t understand and you get to see people who only desire understanding try to express themselves and their point of view and be heard.

What’s sad is, the real focus should be peace, respect, community, diversity, growth and prosperity. For those here that claim to know the word of god, the word also says judge not lest ye be judged. It is not your job to tear someone down and send them to hell because you don’t approve of their life style. You are not in an athoritative position to do so. God did not appoint you to do so. He gave you the word to spread. So if you have a seed to plant you do it peacefully and move on. Jesus associated with robbers, beggars and prostitutes and so on…dwelled with them and taght them the word of God that they might have faith and change their ways. It’s not about disgust and vulgarities and right and wrong and arguing and making someone feel bad about their choices. If you are not hurting anyone who cares how you live. God will deal with whatever he is displeased with in the after life.

No one is perfect. There is always something that a person does that will not please God. Will he be pleased if you are having sex out of wed? Will he be pleased with alcholics and drug abusers? Will he be please with domestic violence? Can anyone stand and say Im perfect and God will be pleased with me???

There is a greater power on this earth that pit us against each other for trivial matters taking our focus off of real issues like the war, the developement of our children, homelessness, racism and civil discontent. Those are the things we should be concerned about. Not who is sleeping with whom.

The word teaches us to love thy neighbor and to teach our children. If we spent more time with our children and build them into spiritual and civil indivduals maybe we could counter some of the influence music and tv has over them. If each person took responsibilty for them selves and came together as a community on the real issue this would be a much better worldto live in.

Racial and cultural divides are a waste of time and energy. And so are sexuality related divides.

I knew a guy that was gay. He struggled with his sexuallity for a long time. He became cellibate and went to church in an effort to “change”. He met a guy who became his partner. His partner convinced him to tell his family. He did and they disowned him. He couldn’t live with his family not accepting him. His struggles continued to plague him and rendered him into a depression. He sank so low because his family made him feel like a vile creature…so he didn’t think he deserved to live. So he committed suicide. A good upstanding black man, that had a good job, went to church and loved the lord. He never hurt anyone. Volunteered at the AIDS clinic and donated clothes and food to charity. And now he is dead because no one he loved could accept him for who he was sure he was.

There are sick people that rape, molest, kill, and do all sorts of things to people and get to live long healthy lives. And there are those on concrete loop arguing about the fate of someone elses soul. Perpetuating hate and exclusion. SMH

Peace Love and Diversity!

@SOULPHLOWER MUCH RESPECT TO YOU AND I AM GRATEFUL FOR YOUR MESSAGE OF PEACE AND NON-JUDGEMENT

ALTHOUGH I DO AGREE WITH YOU WHOLEHEARTEDLY-THERE WILL AND ALWAYS BE THINGS THAT ARE CONSIDERED BY SOCIETY AS RIGHT AND WRONG AND BEING THAT WE ARE HUMAN AND LIVE AMONGST ONE ANOTHER WE MUST ACCEPT THE FACT THAT OUR ACTIONS MAY BE JUDGED TO A DEGREE

ALTHOUGH AS YOU MENTION WE ARE ALL OF SIN, NOT ONE OF US HAS THE RIGHT TO JUDGE ANOTHER BUT WE ARE HUMAN AND WE ARE A REFLECTION OF GOD BUT WE OF COURSE ARE NOT PERFECT WE HAVE FLAWS-SO THEREFORE WE ALL ARE NOT CAPABLE OF VIEWING ONE ANOTHER AS GOD DOES-IF WE DID I COULD ONLY IMAGINE WHAT A BEAUTIFUL, PEACEFUL WORLD WE WOULD LIVE IN

I HAVE A BROTHER THAT’S GAY, AN AUNT WHO IS GAY AS WELL AND I LOVE THEM IRREGARDLESS, I WOULD NOT TOLERATE ANYONE DISRESPECTING THEM BECAUSE OF THEIR LIFESTYLES

BOTH OF THEM HAVE ENDURED SOME FORM OF SEXUAL ABUSE AND STRUGGLE WITH IDENTITY ISSUES CURRENTLY AND ALTHOUGH ACCORDING TO SOME-GAY PEOPLE ARE BORN GAY BUT I BEG TO DIFFER TO A DEGREE-EVEN IF THAT WERE THE CASE IT DOES SEEM TO BE A COMMON FACTOR THAT GAYS SUCH AS YOUR FRIEND YOU MENTION WHO COMMITTED SUICIDE-LOW SELF-ESTEEM AND IDENTITY ISSUES

NOT SAYING THAT HIS FAMILY JUDGING HIM DID NOT AFFECT HIM AND CONTRIBUTE TO HIS SUICIDE-I DON’T KNOW BUT THERE ARE SO MANY GAY COMMUNITIES AND SUPPORT GROUPS THAT I CAN SHAKE A STICK AT

WE ARE ALL PLAGUED WITH SOME PERCEIVED SHORTCOMING, FLAWS, AND WANT TO BE ACCEPTED BUT MY DEAR FRIEND THE REALITY OF IT IS HEAVEN IS NOT HERE ON EARTH AND HUMAN WILL DO HUMANLY THINGS-THOSE WHO MIRROR OR REFLECT GOD’S IMAGE ARE ANGELS PUT HERE TO DO GOD’S WORK-I RESPECT AND VALUE YOUR OPINION AND ACTUALLY ENJOYED YOUR DELIVERY

BUT BE REAL CLEAR THAT ALTHOUGH YOU CAN CHOOSE TO LIVE YOUR LIFE AS YOU SEE FIT “SO CALLED FREE WILL” YOU ALSO HAVE TO EXPECT THAT OTHER’S WILL NOT AGREE WITH YOUR LIFESTYLE AND MAY OSTRACIZE YOU AND THAT CAN AND MAY BE VERY HURTFUL AND LONELY

EITHER YOU CAN CHOOSE TO STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS AND SORROUND YOURSELF WITH LIKE MINDED INDIVIDUALS AND SAY TO HELL WITH WHAT OTHER’S THINK-WHICH I ADMIRE FROM ANY INDIVIDUAL

OR YOU CAN BE A BIT MORE SELECTIVE ABOUT WHO YOU DIVULGE INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR PRIVATE SEX LIFE-WHOSE BUSINESS IS IT ANYWAYS WHO YOU SLEEP WITH AT NIGHT

THESE ARE MERE SUGGESTIONS AND MY THOUGHTS ON YOUR POST

GOD BLESS YOU

I hate when people try to tell me that homosexuality is right, when the bible CLEARLY, CLEARLY, POINT BLANK, says its wrong. Gay acts are disgusting and nasty, and unclean. God says men who lie with men for unnatural purposes, murderers, liars, fornicators, adulterers will not inherit his kingdom. So if you are regularly practicing these things without repentence, you should already know what’s up on judgement day, make being gay/lesbian sound pretty cute and harmless if you like, but God has already sounded off on this issue. So if gay people don’t change this unnatural, ungodly lifestyle, you will not be in god’s favor.

AND I’M NOT JUDGING ANYONE, THIS IS WHAT GOD SAID TO EVERYONE IN THE BIBLE…I AM MERELY THE WORDS OF THE SCRIPTURES….IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH WHAT WAS SAID, PLEASE GO TO GOD IN PRAYER AND TAKE THAT UP WITH HIM….SURE HE’LL SET YOU STRAIGHT.

Good for Ja Rule . If he said as much in his raps as he said in that excerpt, he might still be a relevant rap artist. The people that support homosexuality only support it because either they’re homosexual, one of their friends or relatives are, or because the white man said that it’s not illegal. If homosexuality was outlawed in America, their would be no discussion or debate. I always find it funny how defensive “open-minded” people get when someone refutes their opinion. It’s alright for you to agree with homosexuality but it’s not alright for someone else to disagree, lol. In other words you can be open-minded, as long as everyone’s mind is opened in the same direction. Definitely don’t refer to the Bible. All hell will break loose then, and that from the “believers”.

See, the reason why black men get no respect is because brothers act like they stand for something and at the same time, they don’t want to offend anybody. That’s not possible. If you speak the absolute truth or honesty in any way, people will be offended. You’re supposed to welcome that disagreement because that’s when the true spirit within a person comes out. People holler about the lack of “real black men”, but as soon as a brother voices his true feelings (i.e. Polow Da Don or Ja Rule), there is a backlash. The only thing this does is encourage mental weakness.

Anon - I hear you and you have some good points. But you are putting way to much responsibility on Hip Hop. That responsibilty lies soley on the parents. I had alot of influences growing up ..but I knew based on my upbringing what was right and wrong. Too many kids aren’t shown any attention at home and go seek it. You mentioned the man…you cant be serious with that comment. They sign them because Hip Hop is the ish right now..you know how many millions these corporate giants make off these artists. I feel Hip Hop has provided alot to many we see and many we dont see. I’m a huge Jayz fan …he got his moms out the projects, his sisters all his relatives. He is opening new ventures to create jobs as well. You can’t just jump out there and say Hip Hop did this..but its stated on TV or whatever as a negative. Look at Bill O…all he talks about is negative. Never mentions lets say what Luda has accomplished. Of course there will be knuckle heads out there that send the wrong message but you can’t blame Hip Hop for that. I mean everyone knows now that DMX is on crack…are you seeing youngsters out there smoking crack because of that. NO! And plz look at history overall..Im far from the hood right now in my life but I had a father and mother growing up. You can’t take 500 yrs or more, control the job market, pack us up in projects, bring crack into our communities but arrest only the blacks that sell to get by in the hood. If you lose focus of that then you are truly lost. People need to understand this..not everyone is going to come out of the projects like say a Jayz or Pac. Celebrating ignorance is stupid..I agree too. But you can’t say Hip Hop is the blame for everything..And back to the gay thing..once again Im not against people that do it. But just like a Hip Hop star can go on TV/CD and talk drugs, N word, hoes, Bs etc And now that Imus got busted its all Hip Hops fault…but next thing you know you have MTV airing gay shows. So what Im saying is alot of the MTV crowd whether you believe it or not is very impressionable. So what if you have a guy who might think he is gay…is messing with chicks for now but then growing up sees this show like ok MTV is showing and doing it like its ok. He may finally see there are still issues with this topic (prejudice, attacks, family disowning you)…might just decide to go back to women. That my friend is only causing more cases of HIV & AIDS….if that individual is not taking care of himself and his partner. Kanye West made a comment about gays and Hip Hop…I dont see youngsters backing him just cuz he made a comment. So its up to that individual on what they want to do. I brought KW up cuz he is dueto have a huge selling week on his 3rd album. I would say he has some type of influence!

Ja has a good point and we as people better open our third eye to the fabric that is being destroyed in “Amerikkka” entities like MTV, where they have shows where kids are blantly disrespecting adults and same sex situations are the norm.
These images like it not are shaping our kids, just as we where shaped by TV’s coming up. I can appreciate Ja Rule for keep it real.

GAY IS A PERPETUATED LIE. YEAH YOU CAN FEEL THAT WAY BUT DO YOU GOTTA ACT ON THAT, LIKE GET DOWN W/ ANOTHER DUDE???

PLUS AINT BEING GAY ONLY ABOUT ACTIN OUT YOUR LUST, BLUNTLY STATING, PUTTIN YOUR DICK IN A MAN’S ASS OR IN HIS MOUTH??? REALLY THAT’S ALL IT DOES COME DOWN TO, ACTIN ON SEXUAL LUST. SOMETHING WICH YOU CAN SEPERATE YOURSELF FROM.

YEAH JA NEED TO CLEAN UP HIS LYRICS BEFORE HE POINTS FINGERS, BUT I AM NOT MAD AT HIM FOR “BEING A PARENT.” IF YOU CRITICIZE MUSIC THEN YOU GOTTA GET ON THE FILM PRODUCTION COMPANIES TO.

^^^^^^ I THOUGHT I WAS DONE UNTIL I READ ABOVE ABOUT SEXUAL ABUSE. THAT’S ONE OF THE MAIN REASONS I SAY GAY IS A LIE. SOMETHING HAPPENS IN SOMEONE’S CHILDHOOD THAT SHOULDN’T HAVE AND NOW THAT PERSON HAS TO THINK W/ A REARRANGED MIND, THINKIN IT’S OKAY TO BE GAY. HOMOSEXUALITY FOSTERS ABUSE.

#159 I also knew a person who was gay, came out of the closet only to be cast aside like yeaterdays newspaper. He too tried to ask the Lord for understanding but it came to late and he hung himself.

This is why I cannot agree when people says it’s a choice as if they can turn it on or off like a switch. Why would a person choose a road full of constant scrutiny and risk exile from one’s family? It doesn’t make sense. People actually think that humans are walking chameleons that can control or morph themselves into whatever they see fit and that just isn’t the case with everything. We have evolved to the point that we think we can control anything and everything that we come in contact with. We are creatures that inhabit the Earth just like the million of other species we trample over, destroy selfishly and hold little regard for. The sooner we realise that homosexuality is a part of nature, the easier it will be for us to live our own lives.

Enough already. Any degenerate claims to not be able to control their behavior. It’s a question of legality with the supporters of homosexuality. Simple as that. Rapists, serial murderers, pedophiles, etc. all claim to have psychoses that they cannot control and people are ready to throw them under the bus because it’s illegal. If someone said that Michael Vick had an uncontrollable urge to fight dogs, they’d be laughed, ridiculed, and castigated off the damn thread because according to the laws of the land it’s ILLEGAL. A topic like this is dicey because homosexuality is not illegal in America, or most territories dominated by caucasians, so thusly moralistic aspects enter and the fact of the matter is that everyone does not share the same morals. This is why people get tight when the Bible is brought up because it’s like an anvil hung around people’s neck whenever they’re not referring to their infamous “love” scriptures, taken out of context.

I see where you’re going, but to be honest most people here don’t have an issue with what his personal beliefs are, but more so the fact that he’s putting out music and images that are far from high moral standards. How can Ja be so critical of what MTV displays on tv when they’ve helped him to create his brand of music and identity which in most people’s eyes, do nothing but corrupt the mind of the youth? people are looking a bit deeper than just the gay issue. He’s trying to pretend that he’s on to something that others have overlooked, which is far from the case.

@164:
I Think I know more adulters, liars and fornicators than I do homosexuals and thats just me. And I believe tv and music put more adultry, lying and fornicating on tv than homosexuality. How many liars and fornicators are posting on this topic right now?

While I am reading I try to take in the whole of what is conveyed in the word not just whats convenient. You don’t have like anyones behavior thats where you can form your opinion. But my argument is why tear people down.

Let ye who is without sin cast the first stone. My argument is no one should be in here throwing stones.

I don’t have to go to God in Prayer about the word because I am not questioning it. I didn’t go against anyone using the bible as a tool against homosexuals. I didn’t state rather I believed it is right or wrong. My statement was to say that if you are going use the bible to say it is wrong to be a homosexual then remember it also says not to judge.

@163:
I understand this…thats why it is the job of those that fel the way I do to pass that energy on. If no one ever voiced the need for civility we would still be disenfranchised. I am siply following my spirit.

My intention is peace. And letting people live their lives. And if you have faith in God he will take care of the rest. If you are going to stand against something, stand against hate. Promote humility and humanity.

Brother, if it’s a publicity stunt, then it’s a publicity stunt. That would be nothing new or out of sort for Ja Rule or for anyone else in the entertainment industry. I take very little of what entertainers say seriously. He got himself locked up with Lil Wayne on that bogus gun charge. I’m inclined to believe that his response to the interviewer was genuine because he was asked a question and gave a pertinent anwser. It wasn’t like the man asked him about his album and he just screamed out, “…BUT WHAT ABOUT THESE DAMN FAGGOTS THO!!!”.

In America, there is a general spirit of confusion so it doesn’t surprise me at all to see people contradict themselves mid-thought. Allegedly, Ja Rule was or is bisexual bisexual himself. I could care less, that’s his business. My point being is that when people allow mankind’s opinion to govern their own morality, it will constantly be in a state of flux, constantly changing, because the opinions of people change based on outside stimuli like television, like radio, etc. The topic of homosexuality would never have been discussed as something relevant 20 years ago because it was taboo. Now what the underlying force behind these cultural movements are, is based on what you believe, whether it be happenstance or Satan.

I have always found it intersting that most people who believe being gay is a choice, are straight. Most gay people with tell you they did not choose to be that way and I would guess that if anyone should know, it should be gay people.

I do not believe homosexuality is God’s will or best, however I do think through man’s sin we are all born with certain “bents” or weaknesses to particular things. And those who don’t have a particular “bent” throw rocks at other people’s “bents” and judge them. So if I have a bent to alcohol, it’s easy for me to point the finger at the drug addict. If I have no problem with gambling, it’s easy for those who don’t gamble to pick up a rock to throw, but they themselves can’t stop gossipping about people. Oral sex is only a sin if homosexuals do it. Pre-marital sex is only as sin if homosexuals do it. Living together is only sin if homosexuals do it. Masturbation is only a sin if homosexuals do it. Homosexuality is cool but only if it’s two women. We need to all check our hypocritical selves. We as people need to stop judging people on “sins” we personally have no interest in.

JaRule need to check himself. And furthermore MTV IS POISON AND HAS BEEN SINCE THE EARLY 90′S.

#186 I understand you to a point, cos no one ever said oral sex is only a sin if homosexuals do it. Pre-marital sex is only as sin if homosexuals do it. Living together is only sin if homosexuals do it. Masturbation is only a sin if homosexuals do it. Homosexuality is cool but only if it’s two women. Yes pre-marital sex and masturbation, and homosexuality are sins, but from what I read in the bible, the body’s desires can be overcomed and I definately believe that from past experiences, I am not and was never gay, just some other issues.

And yes I do believe we may be born with some certain ‘bents or weaknesses’ or developed them as we were growing up, but at the end of the day, if you are a believer, which I encourage everyone to be, it’s all about pleasing God at the end of the day. Right?

@186

No disrespect to you, but why is it that when someone makes an observation, people call it a judgement? A judgement is an enforced ruling. If you were in court you wouldn’t tell the white man in the black robe, “You can’t judge me.”. You would stay in your damn place, respect the ruling, and beg for leniency. You’re going into your own personal philosophy on how you view the homosexual issue, as did Ja Rule, and that’s fine because that is your right. At the same time, I notice that “open-minded” people try to cleave onto that term “judgement” or “ignorant” whenever someone disagrees with them.

When Christ protected the harlot and he said, “He who has not sinned, cast the first stone”. That wasn’t a figure of speech, that was because those cats were literally going to stone her. After Christ confounded them and the men left, Christ didn’t tell the sister “Do you, cuz no one can judge you.”. He said go and sin no more (John 8:1-11). People take a literal story in the Bible and try to turn it into a figure of speech so that they can feel guilt free to satisfy their own lusts. No one is perfect, the only thing is that people need to be held accountable for their actions and they should thank someone who corrects them when they go the hell off. When you have that, “no one can judge me” mentality, what you’re really saying is that no one can tell you a damn thing unless your judged in a court of law. Then black people wonder why the moral standards are so low in the black community and the white man’s police force is so disdainful. Black people don’t even have the discipline to police themselves or each other.

#187, I know no one ever SAID those things on this thread. I used those as examples to how society, PARTICULARLY black people, use homosexuals as being the worst. Let’s be honest here. For the most part, people view homosexuality as the worst possible sin. Homosexuality is judged harder in the black community than other sins. There is a elevated level of judgement/desire to inform them about their sins, and it’s because that is something that most people do not struggle with. Sin is sin, but whether it is admitted to or not, there is a bias against homosexuality that other sins do not get. That is evident in JaRules case, which is why he can be called a hypocrite. Here you have Ja “MURRRRRRDAAAAAHHHHHHH” rule, trying to point out a particular sin on MTV, when he is spreading/has spread just as much sin to other people’s children.

In my eyes, the homosexual is no worse than the heterosexual who has pre-marital sex. Poster # 192 (Judah) I certainly hope you view it the same. Can it be said that most people feel that way. NO!

The one thing I loved about Pope John Paul ll as well as my own pastor, they were/are consistent. They were against homosexuality AND abortion. They were against alcohol AND gossiping. They were against lying AND premarital sex. They were against overeating AND pornography. They were against using profanity AND playing lotto. They believed the body’s desire for homosexual acts could be overcome AND the body’s desire for masturbation.

I stand by my belief that people unfairly judge particular sins they personally have no desire or interest in, and in the case of homosexuality, it is done so at a elevated level.

Usually people who say they are against it say it to hide the fact that they are sexually confused. Especially men. Thats why you see all these senators who are voting against gay marriage and gay adoption and anything to do with homosexuality caught trying to sleep/or actually sleeping with men on the low. Thats why you see all these preachers who preach against homosexuality and then go to their gay lovers in the middle of the night and get caught. And she said to me ‘they are gay. that means they are both men but love eachother like your daddy and me.’ And it was that simple. I didnt think about it anymore, I wasnt scarred by seeing it, and I wasnt “turned a homosexual” by seeing two men kiss at a young age. I saw it and moved on. #216 Its not that seeing it will turn a child into a homosexual, the FACT is that children are very easily influenced. @218, if you don’t believe homosexuality is right than thats just your opinion. I dont think being gay is wrong, but thats just my opinion. My opinion is that if a child sees a homosexual kiss in public or whatever, they would not care or think about it that much if we didnt make a big deal about it and just explained that some men fall in love with other men and women in love with other women at a young age. I mean, thats just a fact of life lol. Children may be easily influenced, but a child isnt going to become gay by seeing two gay people on tv or in public. If your child grows up and tells you they are gay its not going to be the media’s fault or seeing some gay people hold hands in a store… no one’s sexuality is gonna be changed that simply. If a young boy is straight then a young boy seeing two gay men isnt going to change his straightness lol.

@225, one of my best male friend is gay and is dating another guy and they actually do love each other; you can obviously tell. And tell me how many gay and lesbian couples are you around that you can generalize and say all they want is sex? I know plenty of heterosexual males who have only wanted to get with me simply for sex, so dont make it seem like straight men don’t do the same a lot of the time too. If a child sees two dudes kissing, they may very well think its ok, but that doesnt mean that the child is going to grow up to be gay himself because he saw two dudes kissing. If the child is straight, that won’t matter. If the child is gay then seeing two gay men kissing in public or not is not going to make a difference.

@229 that is the most rediculous thing I’ve ever heard. People do not become gay because they saw it on TV. There were gay people before TV was created; there have been gay people since the beginning. Yes, crime you see on TV and it is affecting teens. I’m not saying it is alright for a straight dude to do that, and never said so. Just like I don’t agree with rappers calling girl’s hoes and whatnot, but hey, if you are, then you are (not refering to you). But what I’m is clearly stated in my previous comments. I don’t think anyone will understand if you don’t understand morality and good stuff like that.

#231 It is very possible that people may become gay if they see it on the television. I don’t know how, but situations may lead them into that. e.g. I don’t know maybe bad previous relationships with the opposite sex. I don’t know man! Like they say, if you meditate on something, it eventually goes into your spirit and that is what makes you who you are. If you believe in something, and you stand up for something for example, that is basically who you become if you understand what I mean.

@233, you are the one with a comprehension problem. Seriously, it is not hard to understand. I grew up seeing homosexuality on MTV and tv. It didnt make me become lesbian. I do not know of any guys who turned gay because they saw it on MTV. In my experience, the girls who would kiss or whatever because of TV do it either because they were always bi-curious anyway or they do it to turn on guys. Gay guys still face harrassment in high school. Tell me why anyone would choose that. There are people who put their kids out for telling them that they are gay. Do you think thats right? Fucking 13 different girls and having 7 baby mamas is ok, but if a guy tells their parents he’s gay, THATS grounds for kicking him out on the curb. I saw a story on CNN just the other day of this boy who was forced to live on the street because his father learned he was gay. It’s so sad.

#238 Ur missing the point. There is no generalizing in this topic. If you didn’t get influenced like I did, thats fine. But all I know is, is that there definately some people in this world that would be. Those who are ignorant, maybe immmature minded and the immature, those who don’t stand up for anything and can be decieved by anything, and those who don’t have morals. There are many other reasons for people to turn gay.

240.

Ms dymomite

Thursday, September 13, 2007 /

People don’t just become gay on a whim. They are born that way. If you take a human sexuality course you would know that sexuality cannot be influenced just that simply as seeing gay people on tv. There were gay people back in the 50s when homosexuality was a taboo subject. Michaelangelo was gay; it wasnt because he saw it on TV. Eleanor Roosevelt was gay; it wasnt because she saw some gay woman on tv, its because thats just who she is. I believe you are born gay or straight or bi. But thats just my opinion.

241.

Every one needs to change for the better

Thursday, September 13, 2007 /

Like I said if you don’t stand up for something, you can easily be decieved, or if you believe in something and meditate on it or whatever, it becomes who you are. I don’t kow but certain feelings may be taken the wrong way.

For example, a child may be told in school that if he doesn’t have sex, it means he’s gay. And the students may start teasing him for that. If he is not yet developed to start having sex or whatever and he doesn’t have sex, he may start thinkin in his mind that he is gay, which leads to him starting to act gay and then eventually become one.

Peopel are different, Im not saying that is how it happens to all gays, but I don’t and will never believe anybody is born gay. Can you say someone is born a killer, or a thief or whatnot? Hell no!

Um, gay people may be a lot more accepted now, but they still face the reality of people like you who feel that the simple fact that they are attracted to the same sex and are being who they are and cannot help that, is “disgusting” “unnatural” and “sinful.”

If homosexuality is so accepted then why do men go on the DL? It’s because of the exact attitutde that everyone who calls homosexuality “sinful” perpetuate. The man who exposed going on the DL has said that the reason that men DO go on the DL is because of negative attitudes (especially in the black community) about homosexuality. They feel they cannot come out because they are looked down upon. So what do they do? They get married, have kids, and live a pretend happy life knowing that they are living a lie. They are homosexual, but because of the stigma, they are forced to keep it secret. So they resort to sleeping with men in secret without their wife and kids knowing. And its all because they feel if they say they are gay they will be judged as being in a so called “sinful lifestyle.”

246.

HOTT

@245 NO , THEY GO ON THE DL BECAUSE THEY KNOW ITS WRONG TO SLEEP WITH OTHER MEN. THEY SHOULD FEEL ASHAMED .YOUR RECTUM WAS NOT CREATED FOR SOMETHING TO GO INSIDE OF IT IT WAS MADE FOR WASTE TO COME OUT ! ITS BECAUSE THEY ARE LUSTFUL . LISTEN TO WHAT YOU SAID “SLEEP WITH OTHER MEN” . YOU CAN LIVE WITH A WOMEN AND PROCREATE WIH HER BUT YOU HAVE TO HAVE A PENIS IN YOUR MOUTH AND RECTUM AT SOME POINT ,THATS NOTHING BUT PURE LUST ! IM BOTHERED A LOT OF OUR RACE DONT SEE THAT. MOST DL MEN LIKE MALES FOR SEXUAL PLEASURE NOT FOR A RELATIONSHIP .

Ms dymomite

Thursday, September 13, 2007 /

If they go on the DL only because they are lustful why arent they out there cheating with a bunch of women then? No, its because THEY ARE GAY, not because “they are lustful.” And I thought you were done? Anyway, everyone knows that black people are especially critical of homosexuality for whatever reason, who knows. Personally, I love gay guys…they’re so happy a lot of the time and many have good taste :).

Also, if people find pleasure in having anal sex, who are you to judge that? Why do you care what goes on in the bedroom of another person anyway that it bothers you? Im guessing in your opinion, sex is only for procreation…?

249.

Ms dymomite

Thursday, September 13, 2007 /

And also:
@245 NO , THEY GO ON THE DL BECAUSE THEY KNOW ITS WRONG TO SLEEP WITH OTHER MEN. THEY SHOULD FEEL ASHAMED .

Well that just proves my point doesn’t it? There are a lot of people who feel like that and it kind of goes agains the whole “gay people are the most accepted people” thing, doesnt it? And I dont understand how anyone finds it hard to understand why people are gay secretly when there are people like you who have such a strong dislike for what goes on in the bedrooms of people you dont even know.

@179 SOULPOWER WHO WROTE:

______________________________________________________________________

How is what i said considered “tearing people down.” I’m sorry, but that’s why i added that little verbage at the end which states i am not judging, just simply quoting scriptures from the bible. And excuse me, but don’t the bible says to “go therefore and preach the word.” You’re suppose to share with your neighbor what you learn from the bible…but according to what you are saying, i shouldn’t be repeating the words of the bible “cause that judging.” What you said just supports what the devil would want, for people to not know God and what he expects of us, so that we can lose God’s favor and not be on the right road….the bible is not a novelty item for your intrigue, it’s a book inspired by God to help us navigate through these terrible times, a way to draw close to God, to understand our purpose in life, to correct our thinking and behavior, provide us with values and morals, and so that we know right from wrong; it’s suppose to be our base. It’s not simply a cocktail table ornament, or something we can pick up to amuse ourselves.

WOW, THERE’S SUCH IGNORANCE ON HERE I CAN’T BEGAN TO REALLY RESPOND… PLEASE GRAB YOUR DICTIONARY AND LOOK UNDER JUDGING, AND TELL ME WHAT IT SAYS, BECAUSE AT LAST CHECK, RECITING SCRIPTURES IS NOT CONSIDERED JUDGING.

Just for the record, God’s words are not emotional, it is what it is…HIS WORD OR RULES DOES NOT CHANGE JUST BECAUSE THE TIMES HAVE CHANGED….Man’s laws are fickle and imperfect and changes like the wind, God’s laws and his viewpoints have not changed, man’s law says homosexuality is okay, but this doesn’t change God’s position on this subject……so you either chose to follow his rules, or you don’t. But please honey, the excuses are sad…please come better than that.

This topic is always gonna be taboo, its one of those topics people should steer away from, like religion and politics…heterosexuals aren’t homosexual, so they will never understand it, and vice versa (granted their are many who except homosexuality) …personally I try to see both sides of situations, just the kind of person I’ve always been…and I think the issue is sexuality, and violence in the media period not just gays kissing…You have kids out here having sex, 13 year olds and shit having babies, contracting STDs, thats not kosher…lil kids shaking their asses and shit…Fucking children killing each other I mean what the fuck…instead of pointing blame at each other and saying oh being with another man/woman is wrong, or gays are fucking up America, we should be rallying together and setting aside our differences trying to solve the issues, the racism, the prejudice, global warming, the Violence, the diseases, and the poverty together. Because at the end of the day it don’t really matter (and for the other Christians out their yes the bible says its wrong and an abomination, I’m sure they are aware of it, but thats between homosexuals and God, he has the last say)

My intention is peace. And letting people live their lives. And if you have faith in God he will take care of the rest. If you are going to stand against something, stand against hate. Promote humility and humanity
______________________________________________________________________

And also, just to correct you, it’s not simply enough to have “faith” and God will do the rest, because the bible says, “Faith without work is dead.” Some people rely on simply believing and knowing God is real, but that’s not enough to acknowledge him, now that you have acknowledged him as your maker, as your head, then now there is work to be done, mainly like i said before, spreading the word to others, helping them come into the light and outta the dark of falsehoods and lies that satan fosters everyday.

I really suggest you spend some time reading your bible…

Damn I’m getting tired of all these ignorant-as-hell, lame-ass, non-educated, wannabe philosopher niggas thinking that they can weigh in on shit just because they’ve got a little cash. From Polow Da Don to this fool. Anyway, lemme break this shit down.

As far as his beef with 50 cent….no one gives a shit. 50 killed your career bruh, don’t try to clean it up.

As far as his comments about MTV and homosexuality, ol’ boy is certainly entitled to his opinions. However his argument his flawed and dripping with hypocrisy:

A) Your kids shouldn’t be watching MTV period.

B) Too bad 90% of the sexual stuff shown on MTV still involves heterosexuals. So I guess it’s ok for kids to be exposed to promiscuity and premarital sex that is also promoted on MTV and BET, as long as it doesn’t involve those “nasty gay people” who are the “root of all society’s problems.”

C) Since you wanna go all moral and righteous, you should also be attacking rappers (including your own lame ass) that promote violence and misogyny in their music. Everybody’s saying that what you see on TV can have an effect on you (true). The same goes for what you HEAR in music. So if he’s attacking MTV for “promoting homosexuality”, something he believes is wrong, then he should be attacking rappers, who use foul language and have racy videos full of scantily clad women.

Unless of course he’s like a lot of the Black community, who are morally outraged when it comes to the “disgusting” and “abominable” vice of homosexuality. But when it comes to condemning fornication, violence, materialism, ignorance, teenage pregnancy and colorism, those same black folks who rail against homosexuality suddenly become lukewarm and cautiously critical.

Quite frankly, comments like his are worthless because they are filled with double-standards. I’m not knocking is right to disagree with MTV and the “homosexual lifestyle” that it promotes. However, if he choses to do that, he sure as hell better be disagreeing with hip-hop and all of the vices that IT promotes.

That is exactly my point. I really cannot take much of what he said to heart simply cause he’s totally done the opposite. Instead of being a man and owning up to his own actions he quickly spins it and says that “if he did it, so can I” bullcrap. If this negro were so passionate about jena 6 he could at least use his celebrity to bring the injustice to light (like Mos Def) but instead he’s using it to back this garbage statement.

As far as the gay thing goes…whatever. I bet if a million gays were standing in line to buy his album he’d be grinning from ear to ear.

@202 & 203

First off, thank ya’ll for the compliment. Brothers you know what’s funny? I stumbled onto this blog about a year and a half ago and I find it to be more informative than most of the stories that you find on cnn.com. In addition to that it’s created and owned by black people so it serves almost all my needs. I don’t consider this a “gossip site”; I consider it a current events website and I need to stay current. We black people in general, and black men especially, need to stay current and informed because forces are martialing against us that we need to be aware of at all times. The entertainment industry is the most influential force on our people and one can’t speak on the issues of the black community and not be abreast of what the newest stories are.

In regards to any possible publications, I’ve never thought about anything like that. I know brothers that are but I’m not. I don’t look for attention and when I speak, I give the Lord all the credit. The knowledge of the Most High is not my knowledge, it’s our knowledge, our heritage, and our history in the spirit of the Most High and Christ. This is why, when the Lord chooses you and you apply that gift that the Lord has given you as a black or hispanic man or woman, no one can come against you. Notice, when you have a mastery over the Word, people will see you enter a debate and they’ll scatter because they know that they have no wins. The white man, the other nations, and the wicked of our people hate the Word when it’s spoken in truth because it represents the empowerment of the black man and restoration of order. When this society falls, like it’s already in the rapid process of doing, the only thing that will stand is the Truth and the Lord’s Chosen people with the knowledge of the Truth.

The way that you know that the black man of the captivity must be the Lord’s Chosen is because people are so captivated by him. He’s the most loved, hated, copied, adored, and disdained all at the same time. This is why when the black man speaks strong, he’s hateful, when he speaks against homosexuality, he’s on the down low, when he speaks on the black woman, he ’s a misogynist that hates his mother. Then those same people will say, “Where are all the real black men? Where are the strong black men?” There are so few because they were raised to be scared of any and everything except killing another black man. The intent is to either make the black man succumb to Satan or to ostracize him and thusly make him think that he’s out of his mind. It’s a 3-ring circus. The point of it all is to keep the black man in a massive state of confusion so that he can be used as the piece of meat people believe him to be. There is no America without the black man. He’s the prison system, the entertainment industry, the sports industry, and the number one consumer. He built America for free and he sustains it for free and he better not question the powers that be or the status quo or he’ll be deemed an “excuse-maker”.

Being gay is not a choice. People were born gay or straight, you can’t become gay by watching two man kiss. All gay people did not choose to become gay, they were born that way. It’s okay if you do not accept the lifestyle but know that people did not choose this lifestyle and let them be.. So much ignorance on this site.

Ja Rule saying it’s okay for him to call women bitches and hoes. I wonder what his daughter think or what he would think if someone call his daughter nappy headed ho. Yes there’s bigger issue in the world…world hungry, rapist, murder. We need to solve our own problem before we blame others.

Also if you know someone that’s gay, whether it’s your brother or friend, you will understand that they do not choose to be that way. They did not turn gay because they saw it on TV. Also you should have learn about the X and Y chromosome in college, which explain why Gay men to act feminine.

Seriously all these christian freak get up in arms when it comes to something agaist the bible. You should get a new religion that promote understanding for others. If not, at least understand why religion was created in the first place. There’s no such thing as heaven, it was put in the bible so that people are more comfortable when dealing with death.

You see girl kissing girl at parties, these girl are not lesbian. It’s the same as watching a porno with two straight female in a lesbian scene. It’s pretended, because at the end of the day they will prefer whatever sexuality they were born with.

#250 Ur just not opening your mind to the point I’m trying to prove here. It’s true what #246 said. One of the reasons why they must go on the DL is because they know it’s wrong, but may not knnow how to control it or whatever. Since you wanna talk about the bible and homosexuality being sinful, yes it is a sin and go check your bible. And I dnt know if your into faith or anything, but that is one of the reasons why people stress on homosexuality. I’m also aware that other ’sins’ are being displayed on tv, but you and I know that homosexuality is something that can take over someone’s entire life. All them pimps, or calling girls bitche sor whatever can easily be stopped, but homosexuality may not be easy, and you have to know that.

#257 I believe hip hop, tv, books and whatnot are very influential sources of information. I never once said promiscuosity, pre marital sex is ok, that can be overcomed in a certain way, but homosexuality… I don’t know, but I know that is something that can take over a person’s life.

If I had a son today, that means he was born a man. Therefore he SHOULDN’T be acting like a woman or desire what a woman wants sexually if you understand what I mean. Like I said many times, Adam and Eve were first created, not Adam and Steve or Eve and Shaniqua.

Bringing up kids, especially in the black community is all about bringing them up with morals. I’m not just focusing on homosexuality here.

@ JUDAH

Sorry I didn’t hit you back sooner. I’d just left work and when I get home, that time is for me to chill, and i kinda like to leave the “blog stuff” behind lol. In answer to your request to expound, I just think that with regard to some of the obviously intelligent remarks being made here, yourself included, when religion enters the discussion, it seems as if The Bible is used as the final word in all things pertaining to our society. I do believe in The Bible and was raised in a very strict Christian household, but having being trained and having worked in the rehabilitation field (men & women readjusting after prison, drug addiction, HIV/AIDS etc.), I realized that true life experience has added different dimensions to how I approach situations in society.

I’ve found that most situations do not requires a clear cut answer. But they require a combination of components in order to be resolved.

I’ll cut to the chase: Religion is all well and good, but in society in general, there needs to be a balance of those views with law, social and or otherwise. One must also consider research, statistics and facts before drawing a conclusion. So when I say pseudo prosteletyzing, I’m stating that the some of the posts I’ve read here seem to be a bit one-dimensional and judgemental with no regard to other factors or shadings, of which there are many.

I do not deny anyone’s right to express their religious beliefs, and I do think that healthy debate is critical in order for us to move forward as a people. You are by no means a shrinking violet in debate area, as proven here, and a great many young folks who visit this site are sure to learn quite a bit from you and others.

And I learn quite a bit here as well.

It all just boils down to a matter of opinion.

Respectfully.

I agree with Ja on the Gena six and Homosexuality. Everybody is so liberal these days till’ they don’t have morals. Not only dont I want my child wacthing that mess’ I don’t want to see it either. The girls gone wild commercials are just as bad on MTV and Bet, etc. Its easy to say block the channel, but everything on the channel is not offensive, but then in the blink of an eye, all you see is booty and breast. It is ridiculous. And don’t get me started on Gena 6 that is a shame before God. Everyone on here needs to look up that situation if you’ve never heard of it and make your voice heard.

As far as fifty, he did damage Ja Rule but at the same token he’s damaged now also, and not as popular as he once was. Just a Hypothetical if the bible said that man shall not lay with woman kind, and woman kind shall not lay with man kind… how many of you would/could physically and mentally bring yourselves to sleep with a person of the same sex (and don’t jump on it and say its not what the bible says, thats why its hypothetical…its to make people think)…I know I couldn’t cause thats not who I am, thats not how I’m wired to be, and I’m sure the people that says its sick can’t even imagine doing it…people need open themselves to enrichment and enlightenment or we’re gonna end up back were we were in the 50’s and 60’s…the silent racism is already rearing its ugly head, and we fight against that…yet I’ve heard the same people turn right around and express prejudice against Latinos, whites, gays whatever it be(not people on this board just in general)…how can you want progression when you yourself are taking major steps backward…a lot of you have very valid points, I’m just asking you to open your mind. As I stated before I’m a Christian, but I leave myself open to other explanations, their is never one simple answer to a question…when you do follow the bible exactly without any interpretation, and you just take it word for word as what is written you can end up blinding yourself to some realities, What I mean is you can end up with a Family that follows the book exactly Like The Phelps Family(If you don’t know or remember them go to Youtube and type in Shirley Phelps), or you end up with someone that doesn’t see whats right in front of them. I remember I was visiting a family member in the hospital and another family was visiting in the next bed and i don’t wanna lie to y’all and try to quote word for word but, the gist of what they were saying is that the doctor doesn’t know what he’s talking about, their is no such thing as germs/bacteria, its just the devil and we have to pray for God to get rid of the devil (and they were a African American family)…now don’t get me wrong I do believe that God can heal threw the power of prayer, but having a jaded view like the family that I spoke about can be self destructive…as I stated before I’m just asking you to open your mind, and not to close yourself off

I’m not sure what you mean in that statement but an idea is that I or anyone shouldn’t believe every word of the bible or can’t believe every word. I’m not saying that is what you said but anyway, the interpretatio of th word of God or the bible is too please him at the end of all things. As a believer, and I have said this before, if I choose not to obey something in the bible, I might as well not obey the whole thing. I can’t choose whatI want to obey from the bible. I might as well say that ‘ok the bible says don’t kill, I’m going to ignore that and kill anyone that annoys me’. You get what I’m saying?

The reason for most of these comments is to defend morality and stuff like that man, which I can say is the rightest thing to do. And you can’t really say that we should pray for God to get rid of the devil, because God wants to know who is truly His’ if you understand what I mean. That is why temptation is approved by God so at the end, He wants to see if you still remain faithful. You can only pray for God’s help, and when you do what is right, the devil can not have anymore power over you because you resist him.

@ 272 CHRISP

Very well put. And my sentiments exactly. I caution to add that “enlightenment” is a term that does not go well amongst those who quote The Bible. I think I heard it mentioned here earlier that word of The Bible as it is written stands absolute and does not apply to modern times and changes in the attitudes of society. That might be fine for some people, although personally, I find that way of thinking to be rather archaic.

But to each his or her own.

It is by all means up to the person to stick by their beliefs and the live by the guide that they so choose. FOR MYSELF, I just find life to be more interesting when I open my mind to other ideas and perspectives without the fear of compromising my core values and beliefs.

Opening one’s mind to other perspectives does not necessarily mean that you adopt them, it just gives one a more full grasp of the subject at hand. But realistically, I wouldn’t engage in any deep religious debate, as I believe it is an oxymoron. And with respect to others here, I don’t see any point. I’ll voice an opinion and try to keep it moving.

Again, if you have a belief system that works for you, more power to you. But in the real world, sometimes life simply may not conform to your beliefs, as they don’t always to mine.

homosexuality is not being “promoted”; it is just being shown. the same way that heterosexual relations are shown. if you do not like it, simply change the channel. it is a reality in our world — there have been gays since the beginning of time, it didn’t pop up out of nowhere. people need to get over it. point blank. ignorance is crippling. man is the pettiest species i swear. always looking for ways to separate themselves among others; always placing each other into classes by superficial things that are irrelevant. people need to get on their ghandi, get on their MLK, and brrreathe easy. one person’s personal life decision does not effect your own. & children do not “learn” to be gay nor are they “taught”. it is something they are born with because really… with all this hatred against them, do you really think someone would honestly make a conscious decision to be a homosexual?

MY MIND IS VERY OPEN I DONT HATE GAY PEOPLE I JUST DON’ T AND WON’T ACCEPT THEIR LIFESTYLE. IF IT WAS THOUGH TO BE OKAY FOR TWO PEOPLE OF THE SAME SEX TO ENGAGE IN SEXUAL ACTS GOD WOULD HAVE GIVEN ALL OF US BOTH SEX ORGANS. YOU HAVE THINGS IN YOUR LIFE THAT YOU DONT CONDONE , WOULD YOU LIKE IT IF SOMEONE CALLED YOU CLOSE-MINDED BECAUSE YOU DON’T APPROVE OF IT ? THE WAY SOME OF YOU GET ON THIS FORUM AND CLAIM TO BE CHRISTIANS BUT HAVE THE NERVE TO SAY THE BIBLE DONT APPLY TO TODAY’S WORLD . YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF! IF TODAY’S WORLD APPLIED THE BIBLE TO THEIR LIVES MORE OFTEN A LOT OF PROBLEMS WOULDN’T EXSIST. IM GOING TO HAVE TO APLOGIZE IN ADVANCE FOR WHAT IM ABOUT TO SAY BUT, AFRICAN AMERICANS ARE ABOUT THE MOST STUPID RACE OF THEM ALL . WE ACCEPT ANYTHING AND DONT STAND FOR NOTHING . THATS WHY WE ARE THE MOST LACKING IN THIS WORLD .

#280 ” THE WAY SOME OF YOU GET ON THIS FORUM AND CLAIM TO BE CHRISTIANS BUT HAVE THE NERVE TO SAY THE BIBLE DONT APPLY TO TODAY’S WORLD. YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF!”

”IF TODAY’S WORLD APPLIED THE BIBLE TO THEIR LIVES MORE OFTEN A LOT OF PROBLEMS WOULDN’T EXSIST” These two statements, I totally feel you on them.

For everyone else, the point being passed accrossed in this comment stuff is basically to defend morality. Nobody is judging gays, or hating them. If you read the comments, you will understand, if ur not a believer, I can’t say that for you (Though I encourage you to be one). The basic things to do are to have knowledge of what is happening in the world today, and plan the ways your still going to obey the bible.

Mind you, more than three things the bible revealed in the books of relevations have already come to pass. It says something like in the last days, water will come up and wash upon a land or something (tsunami), the bible also says soemthin about a continuous war ( I dnt even need to mention the name of that), and some other things.

Fine. That’s your opinion. And I think I stated that for me, engaging in religious debate is useless. You won’t change my mind, nor do I intend to try and change yours.

And if you’re implying that I said that The Bible does not apply to modern times, you got it twisted - The implications of my statement was the opposite. I was referring to a previous post which I (full disclosure) paraphrased as saying that they believed in The Bible AS WRITTEN and as such the Word does not conform to modern times and thinking. To clarify, you follow the Word now as people did then. Or, The Bible is not amendable to changing attitudes. Or, if we as a society changed laws and made homosexuality legal, the laws of The Bible will not change.

As for your statement about black people being stupid, why apologize? I read what are, in my opinion, some pretty stupid statements lol.

#282 It maybe possible for someone to be moral without the help of the bible, that maybe your case, I don’t know, but your getting angry for no reason in my opinion man! It is normal for people in a society to want the right things to be carried out, and like I said, nobody is judging gay people, well I’m not and ‘HOTT’ ain’t. It’s all about what we beleive, and if you believe in something, you stand up for it. If someone does not believe in something, they can fall for anything. Real talk. And if people believe in the bible, like I do, you acan’t say anything cos proof is right there. You need to know duties of people that are meant to be christians, so you can’t really say anything. Without knowledge of something, you can’t say anything.

@ 283

Firstly, I’m not angry. I threw that last statement in a terse matter for a reason. It’s pure and simple and make of it what you will. If it don’t apply, then let it fly.

And it seems you are assuming that I don’t follow The Bible. That’s ok. But I will reiterate - I WILL NOT QUALIFY MY FAITH IN THIS FORUM. That is my personal business. If you read any of my posts closely, they were made in blanket form. Meaning I did not refer to anybody directly in terms of my opinions. And don’t you people READ? I’ve said over and over, and in the kindest, most respectful manner possible, if you have your own belief system, FINE. I’m good with that.

For the most part, I relish this exchange of thoughts and opinions, even those of people I don’t agree with. I just try and avoid making it personal

And you say ‘I’ve said over and over, and in the kindest, most respectful manner possible, if you have your own belief system, FINE. Black people are angry, bitter people who have sumthin to say about everything. Black people are victims of perpetuated ignorance (=lacking knowledge). No disrespect to you brother but what I find alot amongst so-called “educated” brothers is this new politically correct “pro-blackness” that certain black men try to use so that people don’t feel threatened by them. “I love my people but we all have to come together.”, lol. Now conjure up in your mind the probabiIity of black people coming together and multiply that by 1 trillion and that’s the probability of whites and blacks coming together. I don’t like when negroes try to sell me wolf tickets. I have more respect for atheists than so many of these “spiritual” people that want all people to uphold their own personal religiious philosophy. It’s not going to happen. This is why it’s so easy to see when you take the thought process to it’s ultimate conclusion that the white man is the god of this world because the enlightenment negroes that buck up against the Bible don’t do so against the Constitution. You people put an explicit trust in the white man that his system has something for blacks as a race to benefit from and it doesn’t. His system is designed to encourage vanity, and quite honestly brother, it’s worked on you. I saw earlier in the thread where you mentioned the Iraq war and, no disrespect, the American government doesn’t give a damn about your opinion concerning their war on terror. It doesn’t give a damn about your opinion period.

@CHRISP

Brother, what I find about people who claim that the Bible binds them in is that they don’t know the Bible, have never read it, or have never been taught it properly. The Bible is restrictive to you if you love this world which Christ tells us not to do (I John 2:15). When it’s read in the spirit of Truth it’s supposed to make you free if the Lord wants you to understand his word (John 8:32). Now if you cannot live in this world without loving it, that means that you were just not given the mental and spiritual capacity to do so. That does not mean that a person who is spiritually or mentally stronger than you should have to kowtow to your own personal philosophy on life.

The question shouldn’t be, if the Bible stipulated homosexuality, would we be homosexuals. It should be, if the white man stipulated homosexuality in his Constitution, would you be a homosexual because man’s morals are constantly changing and the Constitution is constantly being “amended”. That’s what you seem to be saying because you have an issue with the differences between this “reality” and what the Word of the Lord says. What’s funny is that when I look at this thread, I notice that the people who are against homosexuality are just speaking for themselves but the people that are for it feel the need to attack those that are against it.

@302

Honestly, brother, I respect what you said in that post, #302, more than any of the other cowardly slick talking that you’ve done before in previous threads in which you alluded to me but were too intelligent to engage me. Let’s keep it real brother, I’m sure that you love your people, I’m not God so I can’t tell another man what his true motives are. You really don’t have a damn thing to say. If I asked you any real pertinent questions on this society in relation to black people and where it’s going, you could not anwser them. You would get frustrated and say that,”it would make no sense to go back and forth with you”. Philosophical brothers know who they can mentally pick on and who they can’t mess with. The scriptures make alot of you brothers uncomfortable because your worldly “intelligence” becomes null and void. The white man has expanded your cage and lengthened your leash so you think that you’re free. That’s why when reality strikes on an issue like Jena 6 or the girl in West Virginia, there are no words of “enlightenment” from you. Only a “that’s so sad” or a “we gotta do somethin”. It’s difficult for alot of black men to function in this world and still see it clearly so they lie to themselves when they get a small slice of the American pie. Simple as that and with all due respect.

People forever want to call others a hater when it goes against what they are trying to accomplish. By definition a hater has intense dislike for someone or something. I don’t know you and I called it like I saw it to help you out and boo boo it was all said in love, therefore, you calling me a “hater” is not going to move me from my position!

Brother, once again thank you for the compliment. No, I’m not a hermit or locked up or a college professor, lol. I’m just a regular young black man that the Most High, thankfully, gave the ability to understand this Word to (Job 32:8). I went to a Catholic school in elementary and high school but I never absorbed the teachings in religion class. I saw brothers teaching in 2003 and it captivated me how they could relate the scriptures to current events and secular history. Especially how they knew the biblical names for the modern day nations (races) which basically clears up all the confusion of the prophecies of the Old Testament. It wasn’t until 2004 that I bought my first Bible and Apocrypha and thankfully the Lord has opened up my understanding and he continues to open it further and further every day. I can only thank him (Psa 30:12) . The people that come on here and say that the Bible was for back then, say that because they are unable to relate it to today (Isa 44:18). The Lord says that the Bible was written so that future generations can stil use it to help us understand what’s going on (Psa 102:18, Rom 15:4). The Lord doesn’t want everybody (Prov 16:4, Rom 9:21-23, II Tim 2:20).

A blog is a great forum for debate because it’s essentially mind vs. mind. That’s why alot of these people end up scurrying away when the scriptures come out. People get emotional on here and you can tell that if the conversation or debate was face to face, if they could, they would try to get simple and have to get hemmed up.

Whoever says homosexuality is wrong is CLEARLY a homophobic, close-minded BIGOT who attempts to justify his/her BIGOTRY with antiquated notions of a 2000 year old book (which was written by MEN in a patriarchal, sexist, xenophobic, and racist time period). Look up history: homosexuality has existed in the past, continues to exist in the present, and will ALWAYS exist in the future for ALL ETERNITY. So GET USED TO IT, or let your heavy, confining burdens of bigotry continue to impede you while the rest of society progresses.

And let it be known to “Cafeteria Christians,” those so-called “people of faith” who select the scriptures they wield like they select foods from an all-you-can-eat buffet, that the SAME document you use to DISCRIMINATE (defined as ” to treat, consider or make a distinction in favor of or against, a person or thing based on the group, class, or category to which that person or thing belongs rather than on individual merit”) was also used for the following:

1. White “Christians” justifying slavery of BLACK people. They passed out scriptures to slaves on Southern plantations stating, “Ephesians 6:5-9: “Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ; Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart; With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men: Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free.”

2. Spanish conquistadores around 1510 (so-called “Christians look them up if you aren’t informed) who first came to the Americas and landed near modern-day Mexico. They used a document called the “Requerimiento”, which basically stated that they had a “divine right” to PILLAGE, RAPE, AND MURDER MEN, WOMEN, AND CHILDREN of Native Mexican descent (the Aztecs) just to steal their gold, enslave their people, destroy their culture, spread disease, and create a caste system based on race & its various mixtures.

3. President George Bush, who used religion to justify his invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq, ravaging the countries and forcing Westernized capitalism, greed, and other forms of Americanization (since we’re so “perfect”, yeah right!).

4. White “Christians” again, whose hatred guided the aim of their water hoses as their excruciating blasts violently struck the bodies of our ancestors (some of whom were HOMOSEXUAL, like OPENLY GAY Bayard Rustin who organized Martin Luther King Jr.’s famous “MARCH on Washington for Jobs and Freedom”, helped King organized the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, and taught King about Mahatma Ghandi’s pacifist techniques in the FIRST PLACE).

So before you start proclaiming your BACKWARDS “Christian” morality and trying to judge others, please KNOW YOUR HISTORY, and try CRITICALLY THINKING about your religious beliefs and texts, because maybe your so-called “religion”, the respective books, and ultimately YOU ARE WRONG!

@Liberated Spirit (Allegedly)

Homosexuality has existed throughout history, and it does exist today, but you contend that it wil exist for eternity? How did you figure that out? What demon whispered that into your ear? You must be a god to tell me what will exist for eternity (Ecclesiastes 10:14, Isaiah 41:21-24, Ezek 28:9). Pedophilia existed throughout history and it exists today. Rape existed throughout history and it exists today. Murder existed throughout history and it exists today. Look it up you damn devil. You probably endorse that as well. When you say that homosexuality will be here for an eternity, what you’re really saying is that if you can help it, the white man will rule forever and the black family structure will be destroyed forever. What a ridiculous attempt at analogy you used.

Now, onto dismantling your bullsh*t:

1) “White Christians” did use the Bible to justify the enslavement of black people but it was because the Lord allowed them to put us into slavery to fulfill prophecy (Deut 28:41, etc.). Our people: the blacks, hispanics, and Native Americans of the captivity broke the covenant of the Most High through their spiritual whoredoms and their lust to partake in the customs of the other nations so the Lord said that we would be sold unto our enemies on SLAVESHIPS (Deut 28:68). This is why Christ tells us that Jerusalem (the land of Israel) must be “trodden down of the Gentiles” (ruled and controlled by heathen races) until their reign is over and Christ comes to put us back into power (Ezek 7:24, Ezek 36:5, Dan 7:13,14, Luke 21:24). It’s also why Paul said that when Israel fell, salvation (rulership) came to the other nations because he knew that the other races must be put into power over the Israelites to set up the pretext for Christ to come back to save us (Isaiah 33:22, Rom 11:11). The white man is Esau of the Bible, he cannot repent nor can he be a real Christian ( Mal 1:2-4, Rom 9:13, Heb 12:16, etc.)

When the NT speaks on slave and master, it means teacher and student, not literal slave and master (Matt 23:8, Mark 10:17, Heb 13:7, Heb 13:17, etc.). That’s why Colossians 3:22 says “obey in all things your masters, ACCORDING TO THE FLESH….” (meaning of the race of the Israelites). The white man bastardized it because he’s the devil that the Bible speaks of and will be put in slavery and then decimated when Christ comes back (Isaiah 14:1-3, Isaiah 60:10-12, Rev 13:9,10, Rev 20:7-10, etc.). During biblical times, if one was poor, then he or she may be a servant to another Israelite but he or she was to be freed after 6 years and there were rules on how to treat the servants, not the chattel slavery of the white man (Deut 15:11,12, Jer 34:8,9).

2) The documents that the conquistadors had and used were not predicated off of Christianity, and I’m not saying that because I’m a christian because I’m not. They were predicated off of the knowledge that the Native Americans that were in the Americas represented the Northern Kingdom of the twelve twibes of Israel and had to be destroyed. The popes of the Renaissance all the way up to the popes of today worship Satan. Christopher Columbus was a Jesuit priest, a satanist, and a 33rd degree mason as were most of the other explorers of the “Age of Discovery. The Aztecs were known in the scriptures as the tribe of Issachar prior to their escape from the Assyrian captivity. This is why the Aztecs are known for their ability to read the stars and their human sacrifice ( I Chr 12:32, II Chr 28:2,3, Ezek 16:20). When the white man came back into power during his Renaissance, he did it through Satan and he knew that to fully attain power, he must subjugate all the tribes of Israel. When you read Rev 13:3 and it says “that deadly wound was healed”, it’s referring to the white man’s Renaissance when he regained the power and kingdom that he lost when he was conquered by the barbarians (negroes) during the end of his Roman Empire and the start of the black Israelite rulership of the “dark ages” or “mid-evil” period. The white man breezes through and falsifies these events in his school system. The Israelites are God’s Chosen, so for the edomites to rule in the power of Satan, the twelve tribes must be subjugated and oppressed (Jer 50:6,7, Jer 50:33, Hosea 8:8). The Lord prophesied in the book of Hosea about the conquistadors (Hosea 8:1). That’s why the scripture mentions “the eagle” which is the scriptural symbol for the white man and is still used by the white man as his symbol to this day (Deut 28:49-51, Jer 49:16, Jer 49:22, Hos 8:1, Obadiah 4, Rev 12:14, etc.)

3) That point shows the type of demons that you have on you, lmao. You, like most homos, emanate nothing but confusion. First you brag about the white man’s society and how it’s progressing with it’s acceptance of homosexuality, then you’re lambasting America for how the white western civilization has forced it’s ways on the Arabs (James 1:8). George Bush is not a Christian or a believer in the Most High of the Bible. They, like you, are talking about Satan when they mention “god”. All that Christian rhetoric is a facade. This is the “mystery of iniquity” the the scriptures speak of which is Satan’s rulership through confusion and delusion (II Thes 2:7-12). George Bush, like all world leaders, is a satanist (Rev 12:9, Rev 13:4, etc.). He worships Satan at the Bohemian Grove in California in the form of the owl god, Molech (Lev 18:21, I Kings 11:7, Jer 32:35, etc.). Look it up yourself if you think I’m bullsh*ttin’. The Iraq and Afghani war, as well as things like the Tsunami, the Twin Towers, and Hurricane Katrina were all orchestrated by the powers that be as blood sacrifices to Satan so that the white man (Esau) can sustain his rulership as the Fourth Beast, or kingdom (Ezek 35:5, Rev 12:12).

4) Once again, the white man cannot be a Christian. He is Esau, the edomites. The reason why your god, the white man, sprayed black people and treated us in that manner is because the Lord said that they would have a “perpetual”hatred against us (Psa 137:7-9, Ezek 35:5, Obadiah 8). You capitalized OPENLY GAY in reference to that devil, Bayard Rustin, as if to stipulate that homosexuality should be respected because most of the civil rights leaders were homosexual. If you did YOUR research you would know that damn near all those peace march dudes were homos or bisexual. The white man coached them and instructed them on how to mislead black people and it worked beautifully (Jer 8:11) The white man only exalts a negro when he has that negro in his pocket and under control. Martin Luther King was a socialist, an idealist, a mason, and a pawn. That “I Have A Dream” Speech was mockery written by a communist white jew named Stanley Levinsohn, who was his “advisor” (Deut 13:1-5, Jer 23:25-28). Look it up. The white jews (the Amalekites of the Bible) had their hand guiding all the civil rights peace groups (Gen 36:12, Deut 25:17-19, Rev 2:9, Rev 3:9). King got rebellious at the end when he realized that he was being set up (Jer 8:11).

Lastly, I can’t stand when you damn sodomites talk about the white man like you’re against him. The white man’s society is the only thing stopping you from getting stoned with stones or burned at the damn stake if you don’t repent before Christ comes back (Lev 20:13). You know damn well that you’re for the white man. This is why I laugh at these homosexuals when they complain about the “bigotry”. The essential nature of the homosexual is that they are anti-Bible. You people are the biggest bigots against the Bible but you have the nerve to sit down in all these churches with a suit and tie on. The Bible is the Word, Christ is the Word, and the Word is Truth (John 1:1, John 17:17). If you are anti-Bible, thusly you are anti-Christ which makes you of Satan (I John 2:18, I John 4:3)

@379

This character sounds like that devil doesn’t he, lol.

Negro, be a man, and say what you have to say and direct it to the person that you want to direct the comment to. You black men are so weak and effeminate. If you think that I’m using the Bible as a tool to project hate, it’s because you’re one of those philosophical negroes that sits in a church because you were raised in the church but doesn’t believe what’s coming from the pulpit. You think that you’re smarter than the Bible until someone who actually knows it comes forth with confidence and makes you feel powerless.

#376 OH PLEASE. It has been stressed, concerning me anyway, that I’m not homophobic, I just find the whole act wrong and my reason was because of the bible. Statements of trying to Not cussing or anything, but the way your talking, your trying to say that the book was written by men or whatever, fine! Don’t believe in it then. If it is because of homosexuality you decide not to believe it then that is your business. Like I have stressed a lot of times, if anyone believes in something, they will stand up for it, if not, they will fall for anything. If you don’t believe something in the bible, you might as well not believe in the whole thing.

If your that smart knowing history and all, you should know about how the bible says the gospel was in the process of being spread around the whole world by the disciples. In all parts of the world. Does that make the bible prejudice. That was a very STUPID statement you made, very dumb.

Ya’all, everyone is getting all up in the bible, going on about how terribly wrong homosexuality is. But the passage in Leviticus is addressing issues of cleanlyness, not morality. Back in the day it wasn’t safe for guys to get with guys, just like it wasn’t safe to eat shell fish or animals with hoves.

But if you look at what folks do today, we break most of those rule cuz it was never about what was right or wrong, just about what was pratical. We don’t hate a kid and drag him out in the street because he “wears a fabric woven of two types of fibers” (another rule in the OT that people USED to adhear too.)
