Keyshia stooped by Fuse TV’s The Sauce this week. According to numerous sources, the singer will debut at #2 next week on Billboard charts. It is said that she has sold over $300,000 of her sophomore album Just Like You.
Along with the album release, comes the rumors right? This latest one surrounds Keyshia and her ex Young Jeezy. According to Sandra Rose, Young Jeezy was actually dating another woman and seeing Keyshia on the side.
Here’s the real story behind that drama. Last year I told you about Jeezy’s other woman, a patient young woman named Mialy who has been with Jeezy for over 4 years now. I met Mialy at Vision in July ’06 when she walked into VIP with Jeezy. At the time I had heard rumors about Jeezy and Keyshia, so I swooped in on Mialy. I will never understand, what is it with these “she’s so ghetto, she’s so hood” comments? She is what she is… her Moms was on drugs since her birth, she was in the foster care system since age 3 or 4 and yea, her foster parents may have lived in the hood as opposed to the suburbs, She has been on her own since a teenager. Like most people, she’s a product of what she grew up in.
As people learn better, they do better… Thank the Lord, that you were blessed enough with a family that loved and nurtured you from birth, Thank the Lord that your parents were drug free, Thank the Lord that they taught you better and protected you from the “hood” and “ghetto”. Then ask the Lord to help you be less judgemental and prejudice.
I think she is doing the best with what she knows, she is growing as an artist, growing as a person. She didn’t have the benefit of growing up in the industry with managers and mentors and people leading her career, and protecting her, she was struggling and surviving.
Just like most people, as she learns better, she will do better.
I still love Keyshia!!! She keeps it real and she in a non-conformist. Folks are taking this interview way out of proportion. She was having a bad day, was not aware of the nterview and she apologized at the end of the day. That’s a REAL WOMAN, right there. I understand your point, but with celebrity entertainers it’s hard to discern where work starts and where it ends. Truth is.. it never ends. She will need to understand that interviews and personal appearances are all part of the music business. She probably believes that her job is putting out good music… let the music and CD speak for itself.
All of these interviews with folk you don’t know, who have been clowning you and your family just a few days before now want to ask you all kinds of intimate and personal questions that have nothing to do with yoru music or profession.
You’re right, most of us can’t act the same on our jobs – but I guarantee you that if on your job your co-workers, or boss or cleaning crew start asking you questions about being a jump-off , or your momma being a ex-con or criticizing your hair color and style, and you will probably get a lil’ stank with yours too.

I don’t know where God will direct Keyshia’s path musically, but I’m sure that with time, her voice will mature and grow . As far as her approach to being professional, she is a product of her environment and experiences, there is alot of pain inside of Keyshia, when we have pain and discontent, we are reactive…God is working in her life, and I believe that Keyshia will find the peace that will take her to even greater heights, peace and wisdom don’t always come so easy, but when it does, Keyshia will be more in control of how she conducts herself professionally. But make no mistake, many of the things she is critized for, are the same things people love about her. So Keyshia, if your reading this, be you and be better!

Anybody who listened to that interview and concluded that Keyshia mishandled herself is delusional. Because even the DJ acknowledged that there was some misconceptions and confusion, and he came at her a little raw because she wasn’t giving him what he expected.
If anything this was a good look for her – she cleared up the confusion, and the DJ was going at her because he “thought” she stood them up the day before, and she explained that she wasn’t even aware of the scheduling problem.
Her asking to speak with the brother off the air – and then his explaining that he had a geniune concern for her was the way folk ought to try and build each other up – not take every opportunity to knock one another down.

It would be different if he were ugly with a nice personality a woman can work with that.
