It’s sort of sad that we have to have this “silent” protest. I think if this were any other situation I know some others would be sporting T-shirts with slogans like FREE THE JENA SIX or whatever. But I guess we’re not there yet. Surprised no one has thought of that yet. You know how we love to sell stuff. lol

This is where the focus needs to be, to right these types of ridiculous injustinces. Instead, we focus on dimwitted celebrities, who don’t think they live in the real world, and have carte blanche to do as they please i.e. Michaels Jackson and Vick, O.J., etc., We’ve got an epidemic of AIDS, gang violence, drug addiction, homelessness, church-addiction, you name it.

I added this on the update Jena post but it won’t hurt to add it here also…

You can go to this website to search for organized protest on your area…some are marching, some are rallies, and some of just people convening to support the cause. I hope that people understand that the cause of Jena6 is more about abusing the law and unfair treatment in the name of Justice and Law and Order but it’s really cloaking blatant rasicm.

I will mos def have my black on. I wish I could make it down to Jena, to show my support. If only money grew on trees. But I think it’s kind of cool that blacks will be making a statement tomorrow even those who can’t make it down to Jena, LA. I’ll be fighting for our rights right here in NY. I wonder how much news coverage this event will get.

I was watching the news last week and the anchor man said “In other news the supposedly Jena 6″ I just didn’t like the way he said it. Like it wasn’t confirmed that the Jena 6 was real or not. I tell ya, the media has a heck of alot of influence in every matter in the world. I guess that’s why I’m a part of it, to put my thoughts into it.

30.

noeatingheretonite

LIARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Most of you on here saying that you’re going to wear black tomorrow are full of shit. Y’all know damn well McDonald’s, Burger King, Krystal, Popeyes etc. require you to wear their uniforms.

So let’s be realistic and protest in a way that will really show our power. Just don’t show up to work tomorrow. The fast food industry will grind to a halt!!! That’ll show them!!!

NO JUSTICE, NO GREASE!!!!

I go to a majority Hispanic college in Bronx NY and my professor today asked if anyone knows about the Jena 6..Only like 4 people out of 20 said yes (I was shocked, that most people didnt know about this case)….Well he asked us to write a paper about the media’s response about issuses involved in the black communities…Such as the Jena 6 and the recent case of Ms. Williams.

I will be wearing black tommorrow to show support.

Racism is alive and kicking in America.

LOL@48. You crazy!

@29 filmgirl6

You will catch the media doing that sometimes when it comes to stories pertaining to black victims. The other day when CNN was speaking about the case in West Virginia, the news reporter called her the “alleged” victim when it has already been established that she was sexually assaulted and abused.

I think its subliminal. They are trying to precondition the viewers so that they can become biased when it comes to certain news stories.

66.

judah

Wednesday, September 19, 2007 /

I’m here in New York as well and not once has this story made the front cover of the newspaper. Not once. I see that the funnelling process has already started. The powers that be are using their phony civil rights organization, the NAACP, to dilute the racial tension by publicizing a donation by David Bowie, lol. Predictable, but it is what it is. Most black people are so obsessed with money and the dream for racial unity that a ploy like that will work to subvert the potential for people to actually see what’s going on. It will be interesting to see how this whole thing plays out now. I see the young men being exonerated due to the story exposure and then being at a press conference surrounded by Sharptongue, Jesse Jackson, and some “caring affluent caucasians”, some crying, some simple negroes, alot of cameras, and some hugs. Problem solved….or better yet, cleaned up. We’ll see.

@ Ezelmo, you are a mess. LMAO. But you do have a point. I don’t think as many people will put their money where their mouths are, so to speak, when it comes to this. I simply won’t believe that. Call me jaded but some of my Black folks are so full of shit sometimes, especially the youngins. They too busy arguing over Beyonce’s new Black hair color right now to be thinking about actually wearing Black. lol.

@ Judah, 100% co-sign on your entire post (first time for everything bruh). :-).
Yeah, I love how Bowie’s name gets thrown all into the mix and shit when people like Baisden, Vanzant, Mos Def and others have been all over this shit before it was even “national-news” relevant, which is still really isn’t. Paris Hilton can make a f-ing cover but this can’t? SMFH for real. Once again, the spinning has begun. The question now is how far and fast will WE fall for the okey-doke.

71.

QUEEN

Wednesday, September 19, 2007 /

White people are the most hated people in the United States. If whites wasn’t the majority shit like this wouldn’t be going on. Why the f*ck are they still the majority now. Racism should have never existed in the first place. There need to be a change in the whole world not just America and not just with racism but people in third world countries should not be straving. Wearing black is nice but we need to have something better. No race was and is never suppost to have the rule over another.

I hope the protest does get some news coverage because whats happening in jena aint even right. so even if you dont go to the protest still wear black…i just hope that the cops dont try and shut this down, and if they do i hope those that go stand up agianst them. United we stand we cant fall!
