Remember Mario? He is best known for his hit singles “Just a Friend (2002)” and “Let Me Love You” [written by Ne-Yo], which won him two Billboard awards, as well as for appearing in the films Step Up and Freedom Writers.
Well his new album Go is supposed to be dropping sometime next month but the dates are all over the place it can’t be confirmed. Above is the second single from the album, entitled “Crying Out For Me”. Brian posted this in the New Music Review last year! But it’s still a great track nonetheless. It was produced by the infamous Polow Da Don, but don’t let that skew your mind. Check it out (if you haven’t been bumping it since earlier this year) and give your two cents in the comment area.
They also released the video for the single, but I’m waiting on a better quality version to hit the net.

Number 19, why do R&B singers sound so “sweet”, why shouldn’t they? Why can’t be a man be sensitive, passionate and vulnerable? If you think back to the 50s, 60s, 70s there were groups and men who had very “effeminate” qualities, doesn’t mean that they were “sweet”. Folks have really distorted views on what a man is and what a man, “should be”. It’s a shame when any man who is any body is accused of being gay. You young mothafuckers need to grow up.
Anyway, Mario is one of the few young R&B singers that have at least an ounce of respect for women, knows how to sing to a woman, or no how to sing period. This song was nice.

I love Mario’s singing voice, and he has gotten so handsome since he first came out with Just a Friend, and lost the braids he matured nicely.
I don’t get the point of all the comments about the song being old, does it matter? It’s a new “single. Old or not, either you like it or you don’t.
The song did not come out before “Promise” (Promise dropped in late October), nor was it officially released as his single. It was leaked on the internet but, again, never a single.
Back to the song… I loved it then and I’m still loving it. It’s a beautiful, classic record, and Mario’s vocals are superb.

Its good to see some other people got love for Mario like me. Dude is so underrated but has the best voice of these young male singers out right now him and Sammie but they never get that shine. Maybe they should dance a little better. Anyway love the song.
