Maxwell – Pretty Wings (snippet)
Remember this post from last year? Well, finally the wishes of many have been granted. Maxwell is back with a new single, which he posted on his myspace page. Even though it’s a snippet, I think many will be satisfied just to see that Maxwell’s making a comeback. Six years later, after 2001′s Now, (an album that practically everyone I knew owned), Maxwell brings us “Pretty Wings” from his upcoming trilogy album, Black Summers’ Night.
Maxwell is still a great vocalist with one of the prettiest falsettos that I’ve ever heard. Hopefully, within the coming week, we will get the full version of “Pretty Wings,” and who knows, maybe even some other teaser songs from the album.
And oh, the hand fiddling with Maxwell’s necklaces (or chains) are that of a female. Her hands just look kind of masculine. Anyway, I wouldn’t give a hoot if Maxwell was gay, transgender, bi, straight, whatever the case may be!!! He is beautiful and very talented!!! This c.d. is going to be fly!!! It’s a classic and hasn’t even come out yet!

I heard this last week and i LOVED it. Cant wait for his new cd. Rumor is he is gonna release 3 cds starting with 07, then 08, then 09 then take another break possibly.
Maxwell has always made quality music with substance and we adults needs to support him and others like him

Perfection! He sounds like he is in good form and his voice is so …. creamy…! I love it and miss him and glad he’s back! That really takes me back, but the fact that he is so missed means nobody has been able to duplicate his work. Same for L. Hill. If she were to put out an album I think people would support her…

im sorry…..this snippet is getting me upset….i need to hear the whole thing man….that melody is sooooo haunting and i cant get it out of my head. His voice is beyond sexy. That song is by far the best baby making song ive heard all year…

His voice still gives me shivers. I am feeling this track so much. Production is great and his caramel voice flows so delicately on it. And yes, his falsetto is magical sometimes..like warm syrup just oozing over some fluffy pancakes…you can help but to eat it up.
Hes releasing a trilogy over the next three years. Black in 07 Summer in 08 and Night in 09. Making Black Summer’s Night. Im so excited! The new snippet is amazing.
I wish he would drop his album. I can’t believe Now was 6 years ago, I still bump Now and Embrya like they just came out.
This dude is so dope……It makes no since why he’s not mentioned with the greats. He’s the king of alternative soul (yes I made that up). Pure music. Unduplicated powerful music. Different splendid annoited music. He’s miles from others in my book. Truly the greatest singer songwriter producer combo in the business. Oh and until we see him with a dude the haters mine as well shut the F@(K up!!!!……. On the real tho……if that were found to be true that would ruin the experience for me being the heterosexual male that I am. That would take his musics credibillity away cus everytime he said “She” he meant “He”. Yuckkkkk!!!!! But getting back, Man if everyone listened to this music it would be all good. That track, those lyrics that arrangement those vocals are solid on “pretty wings”. He would win american idol off a rehearsal. He’s never had a bad CD. And the best part of it is that he has taken different risk and themes with all of them. That music makes me wanna take my lady bye the hand and you know. His music has a sensitive and honest vibe that makes me wanna be a better man to my lady. He makes listening to other music really hard. Real talk from a dude born and raised in the heart of south central L.A.(filled over masculine black heterosexual males), who woulda thought. Maxwell embodies how music should be….ya dig.

It’s sad. Just because a rumor goes around, all the sudden people are trying to find validation in a hand on a picture.
Who cares, he is still an amazing vocalist.
And as to Aaliyah’s falsetto, Maxwell put her to shame when it came to vocal range. Mariah Carey sings (or sang, her voice sucks now) in falsetto, Aaliyah sings in a high soprano.

LOL, to the ones that address this issue,do many of you know what Falsetto is?Aaliyah is not a falsetto she is a high soprano.Falsetto is referred to when a man is imitating a high pitched woman like voice.I study music so I know this as a fact so really Chris is right.Brian McKnight,Marvin Gaye are other example of singers using their falsettos.

This song is truly awesome!!! To hear the full version I had to go and listen to it live from when he sung it in Amsterdam on tour. He always was a gifted singer and he could make a song cry. I’m so happy to see that he still can and I’m just over the moon excited for when this album drops. I’ve been waiting for it since he released “Now” and I think it’s going to be worth the wait.
