@# 6..sometimes your friends play the part of being a true frind and at the end of the day they are not so I wouldn’t think that she had a mental illness just because she “thought” they were her friends. This is crazy! Last week I was having a conversation with two of my classmates about Jena 6. One, who is Korean didn’t even know it was going on. The discription of what happened was one of the most heinous and repulsive things I’ve ever heard. My thoughts go out to this poor young woman and her loved-ones.

I am a black 27 yr. old woman who lives here in Charleston, WV. In Logan, WV unfortunately it is a small town with people that has alot of hatred towards anyone that is not white. This was so shocking to hear what this poor woman went through. This will not be overlooked, the prosecutor said that he will make sure they are sentenced to the maximum possible.

I feel what you’re saying but she is still an adult and I’m not sure her mother has the right to make that decision. If it were me I would be very angry right now. We already know what happened to her, what is releasing her name and picture going to prove? Most rape victims remain anonymous for privacy reasons. She hasn’t even been released from the hospital yet and her picture is posted on concrete loop! Who wants the whole world staring in your face while you laying in a hospital bed, especially with everyone knowing all the sick things that happened to you. I’m sure most folks are sympathetic with her but something like this is extremely personal and while everyone wants to be the first to report the “scoop”, people should have a little more respect when it comes to certain things.

Yeah the father and the son raped the little boy and made him perform oral sex on them even though the little boy screamed that they were hurting him and the mother sat there and “got off” from watching it. Then they killed him and threw him in a garbage bag on the side of the rode like he was nothing. The police would not even let the parents see him that is how bad he looked. Christopher’s body was found in a trash bag about 3 miles from his home nearly one week after he disappeared from a playground near his father’s home.

“The last preacher that spoke said that he was in a better place,” mourner Louis Hill said through tears after the service.

The emotions were shared by Glynn County Police Chief Matt Doering, who headed the search effort and the investigation. Four people are now charged in connection with the boy’s death.

“It’s tough,” Doeing said. “How can you not get a little bit emotional and not get attached to a 6-year-old child?”

The Barrios family thanked everyone — some of them total strangers — who cared enough to attend both Thursday’s funeral and Wednesday’s viewing.

Christopher Barrios Jr. disappeared from a playground hear his home about 6 p.m. on March 8. His body was found a week later in a trash bag near the Burnswick airport.

“I’m just going to hang on tight to my family,” said Christopher’s grandmother,
She said the day of the funeral was the hardest because her grandson was going to be put in the ground.

On Wednesday, the Glynn County grand jury returned a 13-count indictment against four people, charging a convicted sex offender and his two parents with murder, kidnapping and the molestation of Christopher Barrios.

District Attorney Stephen Kelley said he will seek the death penalty against 32-year-old George David Edenfield, who has a prior child molestation conviction from 1997, and his parents, David and Peggy Edenfield.

“This is one of the most horrific crimes that I have seen in 21 years of prosecutions,” Kelley said.

Donald Dale was indicted on charges of concealing a death and tampering with evidence. Kelley said Dale did not become involved until after Christopher had been killed.

Christopher was missing for a week before police found his body about three miles from his trailer park home outside Brunswick. The Edenfields lived in a mobile home across the street from the boy’s grandmother.

“It makes me sick, and it makes me so angry,” said Christopher’s grandmother on Wednesday. “All four of them need to be charged with murder, and they don’t need to be kept alive long. They killed our baby. They don’t even need to be alive now.”

The indictment does not say which of the three is accused of causing the boy’s death.

“They deserve the worst, for them to torture my son like that, every last one of them,” said Mike Barrios, the slain boy’s father.

Glynn County police arrested the Edenfields four days after Christopher vanished while playing alone outside.

Doering said all three suspects confessed to playing roles in the boy’s abduction.

Police have said Dale admitted to investigators he helped the Edenfields dispose of Christopher’s body. Charges against the Edenfields also include false imprisonment, cruelty to children and enticing a child for indecent purposes.

Police have described George Edenfield as mentally slow but capable of understanding right from wrong. They have said he is not retarded.

The Edenfields moved into the trailer park where Christopher lived last year because of a Georgia law intended to keep child molesters away from children.

Sheriffs’ deputies told George Edenfield in September that he had to leave his home near downtown Brunswick because it was too close to a playground. Georgia law prohibits registered sex offenders from living within 1,000 feet of schools and other places that draw children.

His family went to live in the trailer park in October after George Edenfield was arrested for failing to move as ordered. He pleaded guilty to the charge and was sentenced to probation March 5, three days before Christopher disappeared.

George Edenfield was required to register as a sex offender after he pleaded guilty in 1997 to molesting two boys, ages 7 and 9. Prosecutors said he rubbed his clothed body “in a sexual manner” against the boys, who also were fully dressed. He was sentenced then to 10 years on probation.

His father, David Edenfield, pleaded guilty to incest in 1994. He was accused of having sex with an adult relative who was not his son.

Why would any of those people be her friend? The look a dirty, drugged addicted mess.

This ish is really pissing me off. I find it disturbingly eerie that there are six culprits involved which is parrallel to number number of black kids caught up in the Jena injustice. What irks me is they are being tried for attempted murder for beating a lone white kid with a shoe; yet we have a black woman who was held against her will, degraded, sexually abused, stabbed, and beaten and the victimizers are charged with some bull that in my eyes equates to aggravated assault. Where is the attempted murder charge here, is her life any less valuable.
