Omarion & Bow Wow – Hoodstar
This new track, “Hoodstar” is taken from Bow Wow & Omarion’s duel album, Faceoff, which I have heard little information about it. “Hoodstar” is the rumored first single, not “Designated Driver,” which we featured in our Hot or Not section. I’m sorry, but I just can’t get into this song at all. When Bow Wow raps, it seems as though he always has something to prove to people, since he’s an “adult” now. I guess that’s the downside of being a child star. The production also overpowers Omarion, sometimes I can barely tell that he’s there.
So far, I’m not really getting what I need from these two on their joint venture. I’m hoping that they’ve worked with some good producers (and writers) to knock them out some better material. Maybe this stuff is just to create a buzz about their album, Faceoff, which is due out December 2007.

Well first off I will say that they both are fine as hell. I will gladly do both of them as long neither are playing thier music in the background. I think the song could have been better. I felt the song needed a better production. The beat was nice. Omarion vocals were barely hearable. Bow Wow was garbage on this track. I think he need to get T-Pain on here since EVERYBODY is hitting him up. Personally this has been a good year for Timberland, look what he did for Justin and Nelly Furtado. They need to work on this album a little more.

O’s had tattoos for years. And Bow Wow has been tatted up for years too. He got those most likely because his favorite basketball player is AI. And we all know that he ain’t no thug or hood. He grew up in suburban Columbus, Ohio. O is more hood than he is lol. He used to be in a gang before the whole B2K thing. It’s in his book. His last album was good. I hope he gets even better with his next one. I think he will. I don’t know if this FaceOff thing is a good idea though cause Bow Wow ain’t really taking off the way O could. Who does he wanna be? T.I, Lil’ Wayne or Jim Jones? No personality at all. The last thing he did that I liked was maybe “Fresh Azimiz”. He was much better with the Lil’ on his name.
I can understand Bow idolizing people and T.I. and Lil’ Wayne are good rappers to idiolize, but he’s 20 years old. It’s time for him to find his own style.
