The body of Nailah Franklin, 28, was found near her car in Calumet City, Ill. early Thursday morning. Friends and relatives became concerned last week when she sent a vague text message to friends and family saying that she was having dinner and that she’d call later. Franklin’s car was found Friday in Hammond, Ind.
Nailah Franklin’s uncle, Jon Merrill, and family friend and spokesman, Andrew Holmes, told a CBS news affiliate that authorities have confirmed the body is Franklin’s.
There are many leads in the case, but the police are investigating a possible ex-boyfriend who was leaving threatening voice mail messages for Nailah shortly before she disappeared. This is a horrible outcome and my heart goes out to the family. For more info on the case please check out the links provided below.

Upon listening to J. Holiday’s debut album, Back of My Lac, I see that he has a little something for the ladies and the thugs. He’s the new blend of street and sweet. The Capitol Records signee says that he gathers his inspiration for his album from living the street life. But although he draws from his many experiences there, he takes a step back and says: “The streets are not anything to glamorize. I’m trying to let my people back home know that I’m with them. DC has a lot of talent and I’m just trying to show people that we are here.”
But it’s obvious that with the hit single “Bed,” produced by Los Da Mystro and written by theDream, J. Holiday also draws from his experiences with the ladies. The DC native is to release his debut album on October 2nd, so make sure you check it out. Aside from the obvious “Bed,” stand out tracks include The Clutch’s “Fatal,” and his follow-up single, “Suffocate.” The major disappointment for me was the fact that J. didn’t include a few songs from his mixtape that I’d really developed a liking for.

Yung Joc @ Ozone Awards in August.
I’m sure you’ve all heard the rumor about Yung Joc and his elaborate Hustlenomics “H” pendant being jacked in a London club brawl. Word has it that some fight broke out and a random dude ganked the chain and ran. T-Pain tried to save it, but it was too late. LMAO!
Well, he spoke with MTV yesterday to clear the air:
The Atlanta native said he and Pain did indeed have to defend themselves in London — they were in town to perform at the MOBO Awards — but they came out unharmed and with all their belongings intact.
“It was my birthday, so we was poppin’ bottles,” he continued. “We was bottle-poppin’ major. Pain was talking to this chick and this big football-player-looking dude came up. He was big as hell. … The dude grabbed her arm and she was like, ‘I’m not leaving,’ and [moves] away from the dude. … The next thing you know, the dude started talking sh– to Pain. The dude poured his wine out and … I looked back at my security [guard], gave him my chain. He put it in my case and handed it to Rico. The dude hit T-Pain’s partner in the head with a glass in his hand.” [ READ MORE ]
