The reason why many celebrities wear hair extensions is in a way to protect their own hair and maintain their hairstyles. With image being first in this industry you have to always look your best meaning the constant prepping of curling, straightening, dying and styling of your hair. After a while, your hair WILL break off with the regular use of chemicals of relaxers/dyes and heat of curlers and flat irons. Therefore celebrities, predominately women prefer to hair extensions or wigs to preserve the fabulous look meanwhile protecting their hair. Hair extensions and wigs are faster and easier to prep for styling plus the style last longer than wearing your own hair. And it doesn’t matter what your nationality is…after a while you hair will eventually break off from the continuous heat and chemicals.

The long, straight hair is the style of today. In the 70’s it was the Afro, the early 90’s it was the dooky (thick) braids with the gold balls on the tips and today it is straight hair with colors from jet black to blonde. Is has NOTHING to do with trying to look “European” or feeling shame of their natural hair…extensions are convenient and effective in the look most desired plus it’s what’s popular.

Beyonce look good, point, blank, period. She is beautiful regardless of how she wears her hair. She’s they type of girl that we all love but hate.

I just realized that Usher is just as ugly as Tameka, good match.

they were weave because they want to, they think it looks better… Many of them say they wear it to protect their own hair, but you soon see that they’ve become so attached to extensions that you hardly see a shot of them, even candids “at home” without them… Plus, they’re always changing shades, they’ve got to dye their natural hair to add the weaves…you get my point… the weaves, eventually, aren’t a substitution for their “real hair,” instead it becomes their real hair and they dye and curl and every other thing they would have done before but the only difference is, you never see the damage this does to their natural hair because they’re wearing weaves.

I think they believe it apart of their “glamour” which means they believe it makes them attractive… Tyra says she feels best without the weave, but have you seen her without it lately? In fact she gushes about loving the drag queen look….so, she’s talking out of both sides of her face….

As a woman who has natural hair, I like to switch up my style. I wear my hair in it’s natural curly state most of the time, but sometimes, I feel like having straight hair, so I straighten it. Sometimes, I just don’t wanna deal with my hair PERIOD, so I throw a wig on. Currently, I’m thinking about getting a sew-in, and it has nothing to do with me wanting to look more European, or not being proud or these locks that God gave me. It’s fun to play around with different lengths and textures, and weave allows us to do that without having to grow our hair out or cut it off, or put chemicals in it.

That bob on Rihanna’s head is just as fake as the wig on top of Beyonce’s, but I don’t hear people screaming bloody murder about that, or saying that she’s trying to be white. She’s had hair down to her butt as well. Did she catch hell? No. Lil Kim stay with a head full of weave. Ashanti just had a thick bush of waves the other day on 106th and Park. Do we think that’s all her hair? Come on, people. Give it a rest.

I’ll say this and Tianna will get it… I’ve read a couple of times, people accusing CL of taking the most unflattering pics, well guess what… it’s not true! I saw more pics from this event, and they definitely went “best light” on this post…

I really think darker hair fits beyonce well. She can rock light or dark hair. Just not too dark. Dark is well for fall/winter, and light is well for spring/summer.
