Everyone looks nice especially Vanessa Williams and her beautiful family. Tamyra Gray is extremely talented and I hope that her next cd does well. The Mowry family are also wonderful to look at. India Arie definitely deserves all of the recognition that she is getting and I wish that the music community would recognize how brilliant an artist she truly is.

So glad India.Arie is getting some mainstream recognition and praise at least. She is imo one of the most underrated neo-soul divas after Teedra Moses. I was listening to “Acoustic Soul” on the bus last night and it really is a musical masterpiece. Just the softness and power of her voice switching up constantly and her lyricism and phrasing are sublime. (“you’re like a cool breeze”) Also I found the production to be a lot more gritty, edgy and hip hop-influenced than expected, definitely in a good way. Sorry for the mini-review y’all but whoever hasn’t really needs to check her out quickly, she beats Jill Scott and Angie Stone for me, and that’s saying a lot.

#32, it happens all the time. Yes, Gabrielle Union and Brittany Murphy’s careers have surpassed the Mowrys, but I don’t think it’s really that surprising. It’s more of a compliment to Union and Murphy than a knock on Tia and Tamera. Everyone has to start somewhere, even Leonardo DiCaprio was on Growing Pains and George Clooney was on The Facts of Life(!), so it’s not unheard of or uncommon for people with “minor roles” to go on to do bigger and better things. I don’t think other people’s success means that the Mowrys have failed by comparison.

They went to college, so they can fall back on a career if they get tired of doing shows. I remember I used to see them on 700 club. So, I think they were kinda sheltered by their mom, so they wouldn’t fall into that young adult/acting crowd that wants to change their image. Doing sleazy movies and stuff. I applaud them for that. Tia is on Strong Medicine on Lifetime (don’t watch), and of course The Game is my show.
People have different opinons of success, and to me they are definately that. Now, I like Gabby, but take a look at some of the movies she’s done….LOW BUDGET!

To their credit, Tia and Tamera didn’t really fall off, cause they have masters degrees, while so many of these former child/teen stars cannot sustain careers–a lot of them end up on drugs, alcohol, crime, rehab, or on the Surreal Life on sumthin! The twins are just gettin themselves BACK into the industry and re-introducin themselves. So many of us love and remember how great Sister Sister was, so they’ll be gettin new roles, and I LOVE ME SOME of The Game on CW. Hopefully Tamera will get a role of her own which is prominent.
