I wish Golden would get a new hair stylist, and Teyana has on to many accessories. It’s funny how Ms. Jay is always talking about how people look jacked up look at his hair and he’s being fake for not letting shawty know that all those accessories are not needed with so many colors.
Don’t get me wrong I like Teyana’s style to but she should think about toning the accessories down.
teyana taylor is definately growingggggg! I guess she doesnt have her “sweet sixteen” figure anymore but .. Oh well she can still do something about the Aunt Bunny moustache. I still think shes “cute” relatively speaking but cause she doesnt exploit herself so far…her and Lil Marlon are pretty decent when it comes to that “SO FAR” when people get desperate who knows what they’ll do.. I support what they are doing now! even though i crack jokes for fun. They are positive young women.

We lost touch and I have been trying to get her stop the RED lipstick for years. I was suppose to be her stylist…

13. dg1234, Yeah I remember Linc’s really well. It had Pam Grier in it and it was made by Tim Reid’s production company (Tim played the daddy in Sister Sister). Linc’s was some hot shit back then, intelligent and really good subtle humour and was related a lot to politics. The kind of sitcom u don’t see a lot of these days. Golden Brooks character was ghetto as hell, but there was one episode where she learnt how to speak formal English or sumthin. Underrated show.

i co-sign with Complexndope. in new york, a lot of teens dress that way. i know soo many guys that are going for the retro 80s and that skateboard and listen to lupe fiasco etc. the only thing that fairly sets her apart is the fact that she doesn’t perm her hair. she may texturize it but most black women perm their hair so that’s new. idk someone told me that they saw on the show that it’s not her hair but when i watched the show i didn’t see that.

i’m not saying ti’s new. i’m saying that most black women perm nowadays where i’m from. ALL of my friends have permed hair. ALL the black girls in my university except one have permed hair (there aren’t many black ppl in my school so i know this. she stands out). the women in my family who live in the U.S. permed theirs. when society tells u that silky hair is beautiful, most ppl will buy into it. when i was younger i thought perming my hair was a natural step, it never occurred to me that it was ok to leave it natural. it’s rare to see a 16 yr old, 17yr old like teyana wear her hair natural or even texturized, at least in new york this day and age. i’ve even had friends who told me that guys would tell them they needed a perm if they wanted to look cute and that’s sad. i respect her for wearing her hair the way she wants to.

In the area where I am from (Philly) mostly everybody and their mom are up on this crazy 80s trend, it’s getting out of control. I have also seen this trend in D.C., NY, and ATL…I guess everyone THINKS they are rockstars. I just hope this trend fades away soon.
the people out here in new orleans are also rocking this “rockstar” trend and it’s ridiculous. everybody looks like a bunch of crayons, whatever happened to matching and suttle things with the “right” amount of accessories, this is one bandwagon you won’t see me on…..
