In reading I see that many of you still haven’t come to terms with the fact that “marriage IS NOT an advantage to men”, therefore although he can be swayed into believing “you” are the one, he’ll soon realize that you may not be. Marriage was never designed to benefit men. It’s what society has forced us to accept. Just like they tell us what to wear and what to eat. People on here comment on what people are wearing, but in Africa who gave a dam? It’s because they tell us we should care. They tell us what good causes to fight for, or what “civilized” people do and we pretend to be more and more civilized as we immulate them. Someone said “divorce was once frowned upon”, that’s because they told us to frown. They told us child suppport and alimony are “entitlements”, now that’s all you hear people doing, trying to get what they’re entitled to, but we know Black people, that wasn’t for us originally.

Marriage, as defined by this society tells us who we can marry, where we can marry and if it qualifies for those entitlements. But what do “WE” say? People who are in love, who never married, don’t conform to society. People who swing or have multiple wives don’t conform. People who never marry don’t conform and in not conforming they don’t have to follow the “map to destructions” that many of these accepted ideas require us to follow.

What’s wrong with just loving someone? Wanting to be with them because they make you happy? If they no longer make you happy, you leave. Everyone will come to the relationship understanding that if I don’t do my part, I can lose my partner. There’s no incentive to sit back and wait for the alimony or child support. You leave with what you came with. Instead we’re brainwashed into thinking that “he owes me something cause I gave birth to his kids (they’re yours too, do you owe him?)! “I washed his drawers and typed his term paper!”, thank you, but I’m sure your panties were in the load too and if you’re that smart get your degree. He only wants a “white woman” cause she’s submissive. It’s not alright to want a submissive, non-confrontational relationship? And if I find a sister that is (docile), then isn’t she labled “stupid”?
