The LeToya song as stated is old, but it’s new because we’ve never heard it until now. As for the person saying that she was a 1 hit wonder, CTSO. LeToya had “Torn” which was huge, and then she had “She Don’t” which she never really got a big chance to promote on radio and stuff because her Label Capitol merged with Virgin (I believe). That is also why LeToya wasn’t able to release another single, but her Album did very well (for a 1 Hit wonder), so well that she has Album #2 coming at the top of 2008. Miserable people, get ready to do what you do best because LeToya has stepped it up big time and she’s ready to TKO you all (The ones who like to talk sh*t that is) with this new Album!

What I find myself thinking most of the time in reference to topics like these is that people who make comments like. “Ugh.. he’s lame now & yada..yada…is that clearly these people are post 86 (dob) babies. Not saying there’s anything worng with that but most post 86 peeps have a completely different understanding, or rather should I say, outlook on music. To say Jay’s music is corny or anything as such, you clearly lack a full understanding of music and it’s critical evolution to a large extent. Then there are other peeps much older from the same era that don’t get it either. So it’s not entirely about the era in which you derive from. It’s about knowledge, respect, and appreciation of music, the artists that create it, and the backgroud stories behind the music/artists. People don’t listen to music. They sample it, some even hear it, but they don’t listen to it. There is a difference!

Case and point this very song Blue Magic. There are people making comments saying Jay sounds old and lame. Well all ye musical geniuses the point and inspiration for the song, is the American Gangsta movie which is set in the pre 80’s era. Jay then took the concept and feel from that movie concept/era and crafted a song around it. Hince the reason his flow and rhymes on this song reflects the mood of this movie and era. However most of the would be critics missed the entire point! So it’s not surprising you all don’t like it or apprectiate it and are sitting there critizing. Thankfully there are those who do get it. Without you, I dont’ know where the hell music would be!!
