TUPAC SHAKUR IN POETIC JUSTICE

Eleven years ago today (September 13th), Tupac Shakur passed away from gun shot wound complications stemming from a drive by shooting. Instead of posting one of his music videos, I decided to post a clip from one of his best acting features, Poetic Justice.

I’m sure most people still wonder how far he would have gone on the acting tip, because he had real talent. Anyway, above is a clip from the 1993 cult classic that he co-starred in with Janet Jackson. Rest In Peace.

  5. ms_mac

Game ain’t been the same. If you had stuck around I know he would have matured and changed the face of hip-hop. RIP bruh.

  6. Melanie

Rest in Peace Tupac……….man if he was still alive all he will be steady blowing all these other wack and fake rappers away.

  7. jscene

    I’M SERIOUSLY ANGRY HE’S GONE.

  8. Greatestloveofall

RIP, gone but never forgotten. What happened to Pac and Biggie should be a lesson for all MC’s about the dangers and potential tragedy linked to beefs and feuds if they get so volatile.

  9. new yorker

he was extremely talented. R.I.P. pac

  10. Tupac was a revolutionay, unfortunately these types of individuals often die young. If he was alive today I believe he would have achieved a great level of success, Jay-Z like and beyond. Oscar maybe? The influence and charisma he possessed is almost non existent in hip hop today. A lot of rappers would not be in the game if he was around. You know who Im talking about…”A coward dies a thousand deaths… a soldier dies but once”
    RIP

  11. Aww I just watched this dvd the other day

  12. Greatestloveofall

He was a really gifted actor too.

  13. tON tON

I love Tupac… there will never be another like him… he was so talent.. not jus as a rapper. He was so ahead of his time.. his musiq is classic… He talked bout everythin… from Keep Ya Head Up… to California Love… Hail Mary… He was so real…
    Can’t believe its been 11 years… seems like yesterday…
    Rest In Peace Pac…

  14. Miyoko

    @ # 9

Tupacs death had nothing to do with Biggie, i’m a true believer of that…Biggie was a good hearted person……the dude Tupac & his crew beat up in Vegas that night had something to do with it.

    RIP Pac

  15. taji

This brilliant man would have been the biggest lyricist to crossover from music to film in my opinion. I remember watching him in the various movies he acted in and honestly thought to myself that I could see this man win an Oscar. If he had more time to work on his craft in acting he definitely would have been at the Academy Awards. A prolific artist and immense talent Tupac Shakur was. Peace to his family and may he truly rest in peace.

  16. Heroes get remembered, legends like Tupac never die.

  17. jscene

DAMMIT ANGEL, NOW I’M GOING TO HAVE TO GO HOME AND WATCH THE WHOLE MOVIE AGAIN…THAT WAS A TEASE.

LOL @ “CREDIT, THAT NIGGA AINT GOT NO CREDIT CARDS.”

  18. Keish

Poetic Justice…is my favorite movie!!! I just love it….R.I.P TUPAC….your fans miss you!!!

  19. lol @ 18. They have the whole movie in clips on Youtube. Just hit that up.

  20. jscene

    wow @11

I beg to differ, jayz status my ass. Aint nobody checkin to put jayz’s ugly ass in no films no time soon, so, i think you had that one sentence backwards. Because even before his death, alot felt Tupac was the best and most prolific rapper out (though some argued Biggie was ahead of him.) But please don’t mention Jayz’s commercial ass…he raps about nothing, just fake and commercial.

  21. Aries_Dyme

“Well walk then, them fat @$$ thighs could use some exercise!”… I LOVE that movie…

  22. msweb

    DAMN 11YRS

ANGEL, YOU SHOULD HAVE PUT UP A CLIP FROM “JUICE”!!!!!

    CULT CLASSIC….YEAH!!!

  26. Jameslyn

@23…….yep, right by Obama’s side……Tupac was one of the realest lyricists alive and still is in his death.

From the scene where Tupac and Guy Torry are at the post office talking to Janet’s ex husband

Guy…”what you doing when you get off?”

    Tupac…..”I’m black muthafuka….mind my business”.

That’s a classic line if I ever heard one!!!!

  27. dontmatta

    i miss tupac. dang. :(

  28. Irene

He’s defintely one of my favorite rappers, because not only was he poetic he was also a great lyricist. Not too many rappers today can compare to that. His music had depth and a story. I love music that has me thinking. RIP Tupac. (Wow I can’t believe it’s been eleven years already, it doesn’t seem that long)

  29. R baby

This is my black idol right here and possibly the only rapper i can buy an original CD from

  34. Yeah he was good in Juice too. But Poetic Justice showed his soft side and you know the ladies are suckers for that. LOL. That’s why I love the movie. He was an all around good actor.

  35. I had great appreciation for Tupacs contributions! R.I.P.

  36. SheSoCrazy

R.I.P baby. He changed my life.

  37. R.I.P Tupac. What’s kind of Odd is that today is my mother’s birthday and Tupac and I share the same Birthday June 16th. I really miss his music.

  38. Do people actually rest in peace i hate that term. People just be saying stuff they don’t mean. Tupac was one of the best black actors I’ve seen.

  39. HEAVY-CHEVY

Favorite Pac aka THE G.O.A.T. Lyrics

“I ain’t a killa, but don’t push me, revenge is like the sweetest joy next 2 gettin pucci”.

“Mama tell me am I wrong, is GOD just anotha cop waitin 2 beat ma azz if i don’t go pop”

    “I got shot 5 times & I’m still breathin, livin proof there’s a GOD if u need a reason”.

“I told ma mama if I did die, just put a blunt in ma casket & let me get ma dead homiez high”

I agree w/ #15, if Pac didn’t participate in the beating of Orlando “Baby Lane” Anderson, he probably would still be here or woulda been here a little longer.

I gotta ?? 4 yaw, was it just me or was Pac lyin on Dear Mama when he said “I love payin rent when the rents due”, cuz I never have til this day like payin that damn mortgage. LMAO

  40. THEGRINDTHEORY

yeah you ladies love the “Captain Sensitives”….. Gon and Tell em What they wanna hear Pac… and By the way Pac is resting in Peace… the same way you saw him in that ” I aint Mad Atcha” video …..peace

  41. Mz Coko

Juice is my joint…I have that on DVD..it’s a must…and yes, I was all in love with him in Poetic Justice…he was a MAN! Taking care of his daughter…took her from her crackhead mama! I miss my fellow Gemini!

Brenda’s Got A Baby! Wooo…lawd…he put the bidness out there!

  42. R.I.P to the G.O.A.T

    there will never be another.

  43. Mz Coko

“They goin fuck you up!”–too funny

“That’s why I’m fuckin somebody else”–no she know she was wrong 4 that!

  44. Mz Coko

    ^^now….

    some of my fav lines

  45. “What the fuck you know? You dont even keep yo damn nails clean!” Tha’s Janet, playing her “ghetto girl” role in the movie. Yall remeber when she wanted 2pac to take an AIDS test for there kissing sceen??!?!?!?

  46. Miss Chosen

HE WAS A BEAUTIFUL MAN, HE WAS A GOD IN HIS OWN RIGHT. THERE WILL NEVER B ANOTHA LIKE MARTIN AND MALCOLM.

  47. “HOW LONG WILL THEY MOURN ME”? -Tupac (from:THUG LIFE-1994)

FOREVER and EVER…………..*there only are few people that I actually cry about because they are longer alive. And Tupac is one of them.

I will NEVER forget this day!

Rest In Peace-”God Bless the Dead”-Tupac(1998-previously unreleashed)

I fell in love with Tupac (late you can say-LOL) I knew of him-but only began to like him after I bought “Me Against the World” something about that cd spoke to me! And then I was a fan(for life) not just because of his music-but because of HIM the person. Despite all the negative press and the way he could “act out”. I could still love him for being- HIM. TUPAC AMARU SHAKUR-(born: Lasane Parrish Crooks) or 2PAC,whatever you called him. He WILL ALWAYS BE LOVED AND ADMIRED AND MISSED!

He gave me a birthday gift, back in 1996….”All Eyez On Me” ,was released on my birthday 2/13 that year**(well it was gift to me-rather personally given or not-LOL) !

Anyway-I have and always will have nothing but love for Tupac!

I’ll leave with this…in his words!

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yTSdkToGu9E *(not my video)

  48. I just wished he would have children…. but in true Tupac fashion he was always thinking ahead.

this is why the song was made……..http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5xMu99SvTt8

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rjv9BjWtXsc

    Don’t forget this movie!

    “Go to school,you’re late”!

  49. Okay, so saying “rest in peace” is a cliche comment for someone passing. But to assume that people don’t mean is a rude comment.

Tupac was a great rapper and actor (one of the few, to this day) and like someone alluded to here, had he still been around none of these fake ass rappers wouldn’t bother coming out; either that or they wouldn’t even be seen, for Tupac Shakur’s talent would overshadow them without trying.

    Re: QueenChocolate
Why you have to say “best black actors”? Why not one of the best actors PERIOD?

    Re: mrs sands

I’m so tired of that old ass rumor. She didn’t ask no AIDs test. She explained what happened on Hot97 in an Angie Martinez interview back in 1997 (the Velvet Rope tour was about to drop at that time) when she asked.

  50. ToniChilds

  53. Beyaki says..

My favorite movie was from him Juice, because when Q closed the locker after Raheem died and he was standing right there.OMG that was soo classic.Even though I kind of didn’t agree of what he did to much but he sure did open a lot of people’s eyes such as mine.

  54. Aries_Dyme

    Re Warrior Princess

In a documentary, HE put her on blast about that AIDS test and he also said they exchanged #’s when the movie wrapped and he was like “I’m going to call you” and when he did call.. she changed her #.. I’m sorry you’re the last know but Janet Jackson is a lying @$$ bia!… Sorry to be the one to break that to you ;o)
