As we stated yesterday, Usher and Tameka got married in a grand ceremony over the weekend. Here are a few photos and some commentary on the wedding.
Usher and Tameka Raymond were married over the weekend before family members and a few celebrity friends in an elegant ceremony at Chateau Elan Winery and Resort outside of Atlanta.
Celebrity wedding planner Diann Valentine designed the lavish reception which was held in a custom tent decked out in lush red tones. The happy couple chose “Before I Let Go” by Frankie Beverly and Maze for their first dance and also enjoyed dancing to a song the groom wrote for his bride called “Here I Stand.” Their guests danced to DJs D-Nice and Doug E. I hate to admit it but I am experiencing a little hate-itis. Suddenly, Usher isn’t sexy to me anymore.
They don’t physicially match – but hey, you can’t help who you love. I wish them well.

How can someone tell us to mind our own business on a blog? LOL!!!! Freedom of speech!!! Usher and Tameka make a statement to the press abou their personal life everytime the wind blows, but people should mind their own business?? Crazy! Usher goes on Ellen to talk about his wedding and mentions the pregnancy before being asked, but people should mind their business?? You sound real stupid!!!!!!!!!! Tameka and Usher need to keep their wedding photos to themselves instead of releasing to the media, THEN we’ll all mind our own business. YOUR ARE THE PERFECT EXAMPLE OF STUPIDITY!!!
I only have one problem with Tameka, THE CHAOS. I am very weary of any woman who comes into a man’s life and alienates him from his mother. Justified or unjustified. A wife should be a calming spirit in a man’s life and I am just feeling like Tameka is full of drama. Maybe that is why most people seem to “hate” them.
Besides that I really could care less about them, their relationship is really just plain boring. There is nothing likeable about them as a couple. Sorry.

I am not hating on the two of them. What is the rush with everyone wanting to get married. I give these two at the most 5 yrs. People these days don’t value marriage like they used to. It seems like every other day someone is getting divorced which shows that the statistics of 1of 2 marriage last are true. It won’t last because they got married for the wrong reasons. Who calls a wedding off then has a secret wedding then another wedding for friends and family. And then post the pictures in Essence magazine to show that they had a beautiful wedding. GET REAL. It seems like they did what they did to shut the media up. The fact that his mother wasn’t there says it all. Dont be surprised people when you hear about this divorce.
Another good point made is where are her kids. Shouldn’t they be in the pictures. When you marry a woman you also marry her kids. But then again maybe she doesnt want them in the public eye. Just a thought.

Should she really be wearing white? Also, I am sooooo happy that Usher married a black woman, no matter what! That is something to be truly recognized, because we all know that is very rare in Hollywood, or any other place where there are financially successful black men.

I wish these guys the best. I agree with BamBam. Here is a stand-up man doing what he think is best for him, his wife and their child. I’m proud to be married to that type of man. We don’t see enough of that in hip hop. It’s nice to see hip hop grow up. We’re so conditioned to living jacked up lives that when someone else does something right, we wish bad on them. WAKE UP BLACK FOLKS!!!!!! While other cultures are celebrating their people’s success we live in the Willie Lynch complex world — Full Blown!!! Publicly beating-them-down so no one else dare to try!! My husband often notes how “The Rollin Stone” “The Grateful Dead” “Madonna” Hanna Montanna” “Jennifer Lopez” etc. will always pack stadiums even if they haven’t had a hit record in years. He says that other cultures are thirsty for (their) rich and famous and they take every opportunity to celebrate them, lift them up, follow them around, live and breath for their every movement. However, he says the Temptation and the Four Top are usually playing the Chitlin Circuit because black folks don’t celebrate their rich and famous and after the record gets old we throw them out like yesterday’s news. That is why Jackie Wilson died pennyless in a senior citizen home and Frank Sinatra had to care of him while he was living and had to bury him when he died. Even Howard Hughes helped and supported black disgarded celebrities. We cast off, throw away, beat-down, threaten, hurt, despise any of our people pulling-themselves-up and apparently we treat the ones who are reaching back and pulling-up our sisters/ourselves even worse. Usher has taken on the responsible of several men. He is marrying a beautiful sister of color and not only has he taken the responsibility to love and provide for her but also for 4 other people…her children. This is 5 other people’s lives that he has committed to love, support and care for. And he didn’t have too? There was no Welfare Worker, no Child Support Court. He just volunteered out of love to help elevate some people. How many of you out there throwing lugs can profess the same????? Some of you ought to take a page of the “Usher” book and take care of your own kids….women too! Stop beating-up each other and let’s celebrate our successful people. Try lifting each other up and make a true cultural difference. Don’t judge them until you walk a mile in their shoes. I am truly happy for (Esther — read it in the Bible) and for the 4 little ones that Usher extended his golden septer too. Thank you Usher for extending 5 other people the opportunity to be lifted up-and-out and thanks for elevating our people. You are a class act and the best part is — you know it — and know one can tell you differently. Here’s hoping that one day BLACK FOLKS will WAKE UP everywhere will catch the Concept!!!!
