In the clip above, 50 Cent expressed unhappiness with touring and says he may never make another record in a interview conducted on Tuesday night. In related news, early reports have Kanye West beating 50 in their much-hyped battle of album sales: West’s “Graduation” is on pace to sell about 575,000 to 700,000 its first week out, while 50 Cent’s “Curtis” is on track to do 550,000, according to Billboard magazine. The official word won’t come until next week though, so you never know.

What are we talking about here? 50 Cent’s album was hot especially that track with Akon, Kanye West album was so-so, sometimes his lyrics are a little immature and far fetched but over all they both were decent albums considering the horrible state that hip-hop is in now. I respect them both because they say what they want and still apeal to the audience, while the rest of the industry is on the south’s d**k makining one hit wonders just to sell a record, Hip hop is suppose to be are universal language to influence, teach and give back to our culture but instead we rather “lean and rock” What have we become, kids look up to these artists and go out and sell drugs and kill one another just so they can live up to these fake fasades and false images we potray. So its not about 50 and Kanye it’s about hiphop as a hole.

I am not a fan of 50 cent’s music although his first cd was very good but I actually can understand how the business of music has wore heavily on him so it is no surprise that after only three cd’s he feels somewhat burnt out. I think that he has a lot of negative energy around him and it is not necessarily the people around him but the negativity he spews out so frequently. I think that the industry can not stand him because of his success and in your face attitude and they are now collectively teaming up against him and it is just to much for him to handle. Despite what people believe at the end of the day he is a human and not a robot so he is not exempt from real feelings.

The numbers I’ve been reading had Kanye beating 50 by more than 100k not just a few thousand units.
Anyway, 50 is going to spend half his vitamin water check trying to catch up to Kanye. The sales predictions are still low by noth artists standards so I don’t think 50s “media” beef actually did anything. Kanye’s last CD sold 800+ in the first week and 50 sold about a million or so of his last CD.
