Alicia Keys premiered the video to her much talked about new song, “No One” on BET’s 106 & Park on Monday. I didn’t get to the catch the studio interview afterwards, so if you did, please fill us in via the comment area.
Alicia has definitely changed her sound and style completely on this album and I can’t wait to hear the final result. Her third studio album, As I Am will be in stores on November 13th.

I love it!!! It’s original without doing too much, with the different scenes “inside a piano”, really beautiful. She looks so damn classy, the girl is glowing!! And her hairstyle in the club is beyond hot.

I loved the video and I can’t stop playing the song on my Ipod. Ms. Keys is definitely a legend and all her music is on point. I’ve seen her in concert twice and she give everything she has to a performance and rhe audience loves her. Simple is good for this video plus there was a report that record companies were cutting the budgets for videos to save money.

I actually love the video and the song. It’s VERYYYYYYYYYYYY simple and sometimes thats what we are missing these days. People always want to go over the top when sometimes it’s the simple things that will do just fine. She looked pretty in the video and she pulled off the concept. Job Well Done.

Ahh… I don’t know what it is about Alicia Keys.. but she has this mystery about her. I’ve personally been a huge fan of her hers since ‘Fallin’, she really does her bit for r&b, i feel her emotions in voice, shes almost like the female NeYo.. he has that spark in his voice too. I loved it! I think she looked beautiful, and it was more of an emotional video than a narrative. It’s cool to do that occasionally. She always does storylines, so perhaps she was trying something different. I loved the hair, and I can’t wait until it gets cool outside so I can press mine out! Humidity is not the business!
I am looking foward to her album, because she always has a great body of work. Fall releases are looking just as good as those last year!

I’m loving the video, the song, the different looks, and the different path that Alicia is taking us on right about now!
Basically from the interview I can understand why it is so simple and why she wasn’t focusing on having a love interest in the video. Alicia said she wanted people to look at the video and see the diff rooms and put themselves there so they can get their own feelings about what the song is saying. If she had a guy all wrapped up with him the whole time then that is all the song would be about. Instead she is solo until the end making the song more than just a love song. It can be a person, a thing, a job, a talent, an ambition that “No One” can take you from. The song is deeper than just a love interest. I’m single so I wouldn’t be able to relate but I do have other things going on that I’m not going to let “No One” take me from.

For the people who are tired of the piano, what do you expect from a pianist? Sometimes I wonder if these blogs are a blessing or a curse, as we are forced to see how stupid some people really are. Stevie Wonder and Elton John have been performing on the piano thing for several generations with great success. John Legend and A Keys is just another generation of real musicians with real messages to real vocals like John and Wonder. Best of all, both of the younger artists changes it up during their performances and step away from the piano to give you more emotion and make a stronger connection with the audience.
Love her or leave her! She’s gonna fly high regardless.
I’m trying real hard to like this song. I have heard better, but I still love her music and style. She looked great in the video, but it was just ok. I’m not feeling the “no one” part of the song or the “ohhh ohhh”. It irks me. What can I say she is still fabulous!
I hate the whole is she or isnt she talk but I remember a video of alicias poems she read during def poetry jam and about how shes a prisoner of her own words she couldnt say and how she has feelings locked away in her head. Saying could you take it if I came clear ” in one of the verses and then she busts out with a performance of “freedom” by george michael where he was talking about how hes not the image they want him to be. I think alicia is trying to tell us something through her craft and I hope she doesmt feel the need to portray her self as something she isnt if she infact is trying to say that.
