I wonder where Jill saw all that negative ish about her! I don’t know anybody personally that does not like Jill and her music. She has always come off as a fun, real and positive person.

Preach on sister. This is a woman on a mission and has so much self esteem and is self assured by the sounds of things. She’s so articulate, and everything she touches turns to gold. Now her new album, The Real Thing, that is worth anticipating.

As I was listening to and watching that video of Ms. Scott I noticed that she had so much pain in her face. Even when she was smiling it looked like it hurt. I just wish that I could be the man that could take all of that pain away from her. Honestly!! There have been many times that I have watched her videos and listened to her CD’s and said to myself this woman is a WOMAN. I don’t know about other men out there I dream and pray for a woman with ambition and dreams like the ones she has the dream of building together, having a family and just winning all around. Nobody wants to lose but we all have at least once in our lives and I want to win. So if you read this Ms. Scott I will be in search of a woman like you.

I just feel as though I could come up to her and say, “Girl what happened with your marraige?” Or, “Jill where have you been?”. Its that easy… She is a true bonafide sister. And I live by the phrase, “live your life like its golden…”

@ 7.MIKE, I feel what you’re saying, she’s going through some tough things. You can see the sorrow and pain on her face, no matter how hard she tries to smile, but this is life, divorces are never fun, family can be f*cking ungrateful, and a lot of lame people spend time and energy hating on people who didn’t do anything to deserve this. Jill is giving back to the community, going to schools to educate young folks, nobody talks about that. Not to mention that she’s representing for us sisters…ANY woman….ANYBODY MAN OR WOMAN for that matter, teaching us to love ourselves FIRST (”1 is the magic number”) and to love others, talking about the beauty of devotion AND being treated right. The love, the pain, the struggle, that’s what she’s all about.

THANK YOU for this post. I would have never known she had an album coming out with all the fuss over Ye’ and Loose Change. I hope Jill and Keyshia Cole can bring R&B back because Nas said it best “Hip-hop is Dead!”

Remember the first time I seen Jill preform. Her CD was not out yet and I could not get her songs out of my head. I would sing the words to anyone that would listen. Even called my girlfriend if i forget the melody.

I love Jill Scott’s music and every cd she has put out even the Collaborations cd is exceptional. She is an amazing vocalist with such precision in her vocals from delivery to her outstanding range she is truly a remarkable vocalist. As for people not liking her I am not suprised about the blog she read which was stating a lot of negative things about her. The reason I am not surprised is because a couple of years back Star from the Star and Bucwild radio show was saying a lot of hateful things about an interview he had with her while he was on Hot 97. He stated that her attitude was horrible and that she was basically acting as if being on his show was beneath her. Also he stated that Jill was one of those singer/performers that does not want to be touched or talked when before a performance. Because Star had such a huge following I am thinking that these people took his word and may be are those who have negative things to say about the incomparable Jill Scott. Either way I have to personally witness such acts or at least see it on tv or hear it in its real context before I decide on whether or not a person is as negative as some perceive them to be.

I love Jill Scott for her realness and sincerity, and i will definitely be coppin that cd in a few weeks, but i’m real too so i must be honest when i say i found it a bit hypocritical when Jill said she couldnt believe how people who didn’t even know her took the time out of their day to write a message about her, someone they didn’t even know. She even stated there were hundred and hundreds of messages, and she made sure to say that she read them all. Now how much time did she take out of her life to sit and read a bunch of messages about herself, coming from people as she say, don’t even know her. Whatever the time table was, i’m sure the writer took less time writing their individual message in their entire lifetime, than it took for her to read all them messages. It must have taken her hours. Now that i couldn’t believe, that you actually sat and read them all…dayum and wtf! I would have read some of them, laughed my ass off, and kept it moving. That would have been a little comedic relief for me….the fact that she’s taking the time to address it in an interview shows it touched her in some negative way…..i mean, saying “umma do me, so you do you” just exudes hurt feelings. I would have not given no damn air time for haters. That interview would have been all about me and what’s going on with me, unless the interview specifically asked me about hating, and even then would have quickly dismissed that bull, and brought the interview back around to myself.

So Jill, it does matter, cause if it didn’t no person would sit and read a bunch of crap about themselves for absolutely no reason at all. Alot people do hate, and to some people, you genuinely appear a certain way to them. And that’s just a hazard and con of being a celebrity…no two people will view or perceive you the same. So its not all hating…some people won’t like you, like your music, like your look, and don’t mind saying it, especially to a person who exude confidence. Please get use to this….

I think I came across a site like that a few years ago where they hate on particular people. I think it’s hard when you know the type of person you are and for people that don’t know you to be making hurtful comments.

It’s also sad how people change over money. I suppose they think that because of her fame she should be giving money away and not expecting it back. But that shows how down to earth she is, she may have her celebrity status but she still has her values. Jill you said you know who you are as a person - so just keep being that person. Loads of people love you and your music and that’s all that matters at the end of the day. I am looking forward to your next album.

Did anyone else notice how much in pain she seemed to be? I mean it’s normal for what she’s going through….it’ll get better every day…must be tough to lose a life partner, a soulmate. You could see and hear the pain coming from her, she is obviously still dealing with alot…it’s beautiful to see that she’s working through these life adjustments, and not allowing them to interfere with her daily life…i mean she could have easily gone into a deep depression and confined herself to her home….but nope, seems like she’s been working on her music and planning for the future. Yet another person i’ll add to my prayer list.

Jill, everybody get hated on, especially in the industry she is in. It’s life. Move on.

This is something that we hear and experience on a regular basis, we should all be use to it now. The more you show people that you are affected by their negativity the more they will attack.
