See the big problem is that the Industry is stuck on looks so damn hard, they cannot see real talent, when it is in their face! Mya is a sexy girl, but this song sounds to damn high school for me! I like grown people music, with is not existent anymore in this time and decade! I first heard this song about a year ago, I thought it was just something she released just to get be talking about her again, but I didn’t think she would make a video for it or call it a single.

I think this is my favorite Mya song. The video, the song the message I can jus relate and I’m loving it. Mya’s vocals have also improved she’s really singing from her heart. Go girl!!!!!

I dont know whats happened to Mya. She was cool when she first came out, but she fell off. Her voice is not that strong, but she can do way better then this. You can tell the record label doesnt want to spend that much money on her anymore. That video was cheap as hell. If they keep pushing her album back its not going to come out. Mya is very talented she just needs better people backing her up. Maybe even switch labels and have some hot producers up there on her new album. The point is she can sing, but if you notice most singers that actually do have talent are the ones that are cast to the side while the non talented people are pushed forward. Take tamia for example. Great singer, all her albums are hot. But not enough support. Then look at the R&B singer which name starts with a B, she’s an alright singer but I heard better. But she gets pushed to the front a lot.

Well, lol, Irene, Motown IS Mya’s new label.She was with Interscope for the longest time. And Lock U Down was produced by Scott Storch and featured Lil Wayne–proof that if you don’t have it, you don’t have it–or, that you don’t have a strong team around you. Biggest examples: Ciara, Janet Jackson, Beyonce, Aaliyah and Jennifer Lopez. All of those women (well…JJ when she was in her heyday) have a strong team of producers, songwriting collaborators, and management behind them, if not the full support of their record label. If your label doesn’t have your back, you’ll end up like Kelly Rowland instead of like Rihanna these days. Maybe Mya needs to hook up with Benny Medina–Tyra just split with him so maybe he has time for new clients.

Mya just seems too old to be ridin’ around in her car looking for her boyfriend…how old is she? she has to be kinda old for this type of stuff by now, because she was popular when I was in elementary school and I’m in college now.

Mya, in my opinion, is VERY UNAPPRECIATED. She surprisingly daring and versatile. Not the most powerful voice, but she is doing her VERY BEST to separate herself from the other R&B chicks. Listen to her 2003 album MOODRING. Damn, that ish was HOT AS HELL. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I heard that album. Mya, who a lot people thought was just another generic R&B female, proved a lot of people wrong with that album.

She also seems like a really dope chick, and comes off as very sweet and genuine about her singing career.

Hopefully this WILL get a release. She has been stuck in the same category as Amerie for too long now–two good female singers with long-delayed albums, who the public need to give a chance before making assertions about them.

Ok so I read that the reason her album got pushed back in the first place was because she switched labels (A&M to Motown)…I like Mya but maybeee its not the right time for her to be comin out again, cause theres like a lot of competition and like somebody else said on here she’s so 90s…I don’t wanna say she’s washed up but, maybe its just not the right time. But I do like this song and the video is alright..Vocally I think she does better with pop songs.

It’s one of those songs where you don’t really like it but you know people who can relate and are going through things like this will love it.

I think that Mya is growing and it is definitely cool to see her come out with something to let us know she is still there, but, I think she should get a singing coach to improve her range a littlle and really challenge her creative thinking, get on an indie label and rock it out.
