This is why people like Kelly Rowland & Mya can’t seem to get the liftoff that they need. Not because the talent (in Kelly’s case) isn’t there, but because the topics/style they sing on, is sooooooo outdated. Back in like 2005 when ATL ran things, maybe a song like this would have done well with mainstream radio & whatnot. But now? You have such strong tracks coming out (like Alicia’s new material), talking about new things, positive things, and really making songs like this seem “wack”.
