Yesterday I had a chance to hang out with J. Holiday while he was making an appearance in Washington D.C for the release of his new album, Back Of My Lac which is in stores right now. While there, I spoke with him for a minute and asked him about things including one regarding those candids with Jessica White (I’m sorry J.!).

T: So you how feeling today? Your album is finally released, you excited…nervous…
J: No. I’m excited, you know its finally here. I finally get the chance to show people what D.C can really do.
T: I was outside and your fanbase has gotten really crazy! How does that feel now? You got any wild fan stories yet?
J: Not yet, but I’m sure that after today I might (laughs)…
T: I know, I’m waiting for somebody to come down sobbing!
T: Ok so I have to ask you about this…
J: Awww!…
T: We posted some pictures…
J: (laughs)
T: of you and a Victoria Secret model. So like, whats up with that?
J: Oh nothing. She’s just a cool friend. You know, we went out and had dinner…
T: Went out and had dinner? So c’mon, are you single? You got girls mad now…
J: Yes, I’m single…ready to mingle…
T: So I know you just got off tour with Keyshia Cole. When are you starting back up on tour again.
J: I’ll be back in November with R. Kelly doing the double up tour.
T: Oh ok, that’s cool. ANd after that, what’s next for J. Holiday?
J: I don’t know, that’s going to go through December to around Christmas. I’m not sure what I’m going to get into for the new year.
T: Are you looking forward to doing anything else other than singing yet?
J: Fo sure. I’m not rushing anything you know, I got plans to broaden my career. But right now, I just want to focus on this album right now and once this is over, we’ll see what happens.
T: Ok, and what’s the next single?
J: It’s a song called “Suffocate”.
T: Did you shoot a video for it yet?
J: Naw, we’re actually shooting the video starting on the 8th & the 9th in Paris.
T: Ooooh big things, cool…
J: (laughs)

THIS DUDE IS COOL. HIS ALBUM IS HOT AND I LIKE HIS WHOLE LAID BACK SWAGGER. ALTHOUGH HE SINGS WAY BETTER THAN LLOYD, I’D HAVE TO RANK BOTH OF THIER CD’S AS TWO OF THE BEST MALE R&B CD’S THIS YEAR.
He sings great live! That is so refreshing, too many of this artists rely on auto tune and all that crap. If you can sing live, then I respect you as a singer.

OMG…..from looking at that first picture, I knew that he was in a Downtown Locker Room! Having to had worked there some years ago, I know how one looks like without looking at any of the signage. LOL Anyway, I wish I was up at PG Plaza that day, but that looks like it was hella crowded and that was one of the reasons that I stopped going to PG because everytime I went it was always MAD CROWDED! Also @ #18, I think the same thing when I see Tigger now or hear him on the radio…..all that keeps coming to mind is Superhead saying “blood on the sheets and his ass blown out to the white meat”….. DOUBLE UGH AND SUPER YUCKY! As for J’s next single, I CANNOT wait for ‘Suffocate’ to hit the airwaves because that is my jam!
