On finding herself on top of an Egyptian tomb:
I needed to get out of town and clear my head, I went to Egypt. It was such a miraculous experience for me. I crawled to the top of the pyramid and I just sang at the top of my lungs right there. People walking in acted like I was crazy; I didn’t care. When I came home, I wanted to abandon all the tat stuff about me feeling too vulnerable to collaborate with people. Forget that.
On her idea of a good date:
I like to do things just because the thought came in your mind. I like to maybe go to the planetarium, crazy late at night. I love when a dude is cool with going to the museum with me, especially if it’s an interesting exhibit. I’m not just trying to go see dead white people. [Laughs]
The singer also graces the cover of the upcoming issue of Ebony. She is making moves and looking gorgeous doing so!

I think her and Beyonce look alot alike right now. From their hair color, figures and fashion sense, they are barely distinguishable. I don’t mean that as a diss to either person-I’m just saying. I love Alicia’s music and wish her the best, but I find some of her comments to be condescending at times. I applaud anyone who can keep a cool head and their sense of self in the shady entertainment world, but her previous comments about dating industry guys and her statements here about people “losing it” due to fame are off-setting to me. Alicia Keys looks wonderful on the cover of the magazine. Its a very beautiful photo. Her image has softened alot from when she first hit the scene ,and had more of a rugged tom boyish look.She seems to be embracing her femininity more as far as style goes,and shes wearing more form fitting outfits that show her figure off! Shes also very talented ,and although there is alot of speculation about her sexual orientation, I admire the fact that she trys to keep it as private as she can,and remains with the one guy ,when she could easily have her pick of hot men to choose from.
