VH1 presented the 2nd Annual Black Girls Rock! event out in NYC on Saturday (October 6th). Hosted by Regina King & Gabrielle Union, the event recognizes exceptional women of color who have made outstanding contributions in their careers and communities. This is the event that Beyonce WAS to be given a top honor but after her, “I wish I was born Latina” comment- they pulled the plug on that!!! I’m glad they honor black women that love being beautiful black women, do awesome work and deserve the recognition. Maybe, Bey will get it together and get a BlackGirlsRock honor oneday.

Idris Elba was born and raised in London- which makes him British and from the UK. Yeh – his Dad’s from Sierra Leone and his mom is from Ghana. But his nationality is British. Both my parents and from Ghana but it doesn’t make me any less British or Ghanaian. SO yeh- deal with the picture’s title- it’s not incorrect.
