As a married woman, this show is str8 up my alley. While my husband isn’t as crazy as Scoop, he feels the same way about a lot of those issues. It’s just so nice to see black people married and celebrating that.

I think that this show is not an intelligent look into marriage or even black marriages for that matter. This couple is very uncoordinated. Everyone is not the same, neither are we meant to be the same, but I can’t jump on the bandwagon with a husband cursing towards his wife and his audience the whole show, threatening to “whoop her a$$ if she gives birth to a child of a darker complexion”, etc. I mean how ignorant is he? I do believe they will gather an audience because let’s face it, it’s reality jack a$$ season right about now and people are just eating it all up! But these people are giving such a non-biblical look into the sacred world of marriage. Their views are so unethical and such a disgrace, I feel, because marriage is a private union that involves God bringing two lives together as one. They are advising people on matters that they have no biblical foundation on. I wanted to take a further look before I gave my opinion and while watching episode #48 on their site, I am too through with them! From giving head, to the scene in the sex shop, and to him advising men on the proper way to cheat right in front of his wife!?!?!?!… I am just so floored…. I will definately keep them in my prayers. Of all the crazy reality shows out right now, I feel that this is the most disgraceful and I will definately be praying for their marriage because with that type of foundation, it is bound to tumble and it is so sad that this is who we have to widely represent or be the temporary face of a black marriage.

I hope I didn’t offend anyone with my opinions, but they are just that. You don’t have to like them, but I feel they are valid and I hope they can be respected. Peace, Love, & Happiness to you All!

Shockey u are totally right…to a point. Some of the material is offensive like talking about head and how to have sex but I am positive that the show will go a different route when MTV picks it up! They wont be having that. The show is humorous and when MTV’s producers shape it up to still allow it to have its edge but not offend the masses I think that you and I will enjoy the show so much more.

To Oatszun and FatManScoop, no one is being religiouss zealots, its just a common sense statement about marriage. Even if you don’t get married in a church and only go to the Justice of the Peace as he says he took his wife to (but she has on this humungous rock like she had a real wedding lol), they still have mention of God and certain things that are stated in a church that go along with a biblical sense of marriage. I come to concreteloop to keep abrest of the positive African American topics that are not widely discussed in the news and on other sites. No one is the perfect Christian and I know that I am very far from it, but there are certain things that reality television should stray away from. And I think that one of those things is marriage. You two have only been married five years and here you are presenting yourselves as a display to the masses when you don’t even have the respect for your wife and your bedroom not to be parading your private matters around. From some of the topics i’ve seen on your site before I posted my opinion, like having Heather Hunter on there and your wife discussing possibly having fantasies of a sexual immorality with women, you taking off your shirt in your bed and having a porn star pose for you after you kicked your wife out of the bed, and a number of other things. I wanted to get a clear look as to what your motive was behind this show before I go casting my opinion based off of one or two shows, but plainly this is all based off of money because there is no structure or substance to this show. It is a disgrace to marriages around the world and is nothing for the youth to watch especially. Don’t bring ConcreteLoop into this and ask why we are on here, they are merely trying to support “us” (black people) as we are not usually supported for the positives which we put out into our community. I think that they were looking out for you guys and as I stated before, there is a audience for almost every freaky thing you can think of. But don’t put it out there as you are a show based on marriage, hence the title, Man & Wife, because you aren’t. You are a show based on freakiness, the classless, and some smalltime celebrities trying to jump onto the reality show bandwagon to get paid. But hey, i’m not here to judge, but if you are gonna put your business out there like that by inviting the world into your bedroom which might I add, no one else but yourselves are supposed to be in, then expect others opinions to be shared. Don’t make excuses for what you say and play it off as a joke, you said it! Just stand by what you say and make your money the best way you know how. And if having a porn star cocking her toosh up in front of you in your bed and posing for you is alright with your wife, then hey so be it. #24 hit the nail on the head. It was funny to watch and I can totally see why it’s being picked up but it was very disheartening at the same time. I can’t believe he said that if he can get away with getting head on the side that he is going to get head. Good thing you’re not completely disrespecting your wide whom you are supposed to love, honor, and cherish for the rest of your days. Nice one. Some of the advice was good but the way they went about it left a bad taste in my mouth. I’m not trying to be rude but If you’re going to make such statements they should be made in a more respectful manner. You are representing more than just yourselves whether you care to acknowledge. I do hope that this works out for the both of you. Please keep the rest of us in mind when you say the things you say. I’m not asking you to change who are….. just to be a lil more mindful.

Lets start by saying that youre not even understanding that this is ENTERTAINMENT!!!! were having FUN with this……its JOKES and COMEDY!!!!!

If you want to take a “biblical” look at marriage, then you should be looking at the 700 Club on Gospel TV or something….we take a real “common man” approach to sex, marriage and relationships that the average joe (4.9 million of them and counting) can look at, LAUGH at and discuss with their significant other and their family, friends,etc.

#25 - as for MTV cleaning up our show…..they dont have to TELL me to….Shanda and I are the creators and EXECUTIVE PRODUCERS of the show so we make all the decisions….we will have a show that is edgy (for tv) but it will all go back to the website which will be no holds barred……

#26 - I think you are putting religion someplace it does not need to be……there are many shows that have been about marriage that didnt mention jesus or god at all…I dont see you jumping down “Married with children’s” back….it was a show about marriage that was ENTERTAINMENT and that all races creeds etc could relate to in the same way…….as for the devil making a mockery out the show….i dont think thats the case…..i have recieved many blessings personally and professionally…..this show being signed to MTV being one of them. If i wasnt in the right place and doing the right thing, i dont think that would happen…..
