Why are they doing a re release? They only do that when the album was successful such as Usher or dare I say…Beyonce. It’s not about her management, she has had more support and promotion than many artists who are pulling better numbers. People talked a good game about supporting her, but it’s evident they really didn’t [at least not enough].

Keep talking about leaving her current label and management - but, there is no other label or management checking for her. This at least is a steady check. She is talented, she can sing, but she may not be cut out as a solo artist.

I can see where thinkaboutit is coming from and I also see where Rain is coming from. Her team killed any momentum she had by waiting so long to choose and release the next single. Then when they finally released a second single they chose one of the weakest songs on the album, gave her a tiny ass budget to make a whack ass video, and screwed with the download period and radio release. One of the songs that got the best reviews was chosen for UK release instead of here where it would have made a bigger impact. I fault her team, her, and her “fans.” The team for their mismanagement of the album, her for delivering half assed performances when she should be giving it her all to capitalize on the promotion she did get, and the “fans” for claiming they were gonna be supporting so much then didn’t turn out at the record stores to buy the album.

I don’t feel bad for Kelly at all. She and Beyonce dissed the hell outta her and Latavia. Toya came out, hit #1 (the second in DC to do that behind Beyonce) and went platnium in the US alone.

Kelly sold 2.6 million WORLWIDE on the FIRST album and 2 million was OVERSEAS. She only went gold in the US. Her second album is still under 200K in the US alone.

Change management, change her image, change her sound, whatever needs to be changed, change it quick or it is a rap. For all we know, it may already be the end. Most labels would have cut an artist loose by now with her dismal record.

#110 Latoya has not gone platinum. She has been certified platinum (which means 1 million has been shipped). She has actually sold around 850,000. Just wanted to point that out.

I think kelly blew it, after she did that song with Nelly, instead of taking advantage of that, she came out with a wack album.

I really like Kelly, i think most people do. She has a good voice and stay looking FINE!! But her promo is all wrong IMO, her vidoes always look cheap and tacky. Then the singles are released months after the songs have been playlisted, by which time most “impulse buyers” have moved on, so she is stuck with only her hardocre fans (mostly DC leftovers) rather than branching out broadening her appeal. Also, she can sing, but her voice is rarely 100% when singing live. So her talent doesn’t shone through as it should. I feel like Kelly is the unfinished product.

IF she is rereleasing her CD (which i ddin’t buy because i wasn’t impressed with what i heard) she needs to add several HOT TRACKS and promote that ish to death especially over here in Europe; she has a strong fanbase over here. Heck, that might not do the trick…i just don’t think kells is a star.

Next time leave the gloves at home.
