I think she looks phenomenal in these pics and I didn’t want to go here, but well…here goes: I think it’s funny that so many people (black people) diss Kelis, when usually her “features” are “preferred”… If she wanted to be one of those pathetic, flat characters who play to what they believe to be “strengths” like “good hair” or “mixed heritage” or “light skin” she could. It’s the truth, and you know it… Well, Kelis chooses to be an individual, an artist. I think, at least, she should be respected for that.
uuummmm music has always been about appearance and fashion. People in music have been influencing fashion for years, there’s nothing new about that. Artists are considered people who are on the edge and set the trends from John Lennon to M.I.A to Joan Jett to Kelis to Andre 3000.
As far as her music it’s pretty well recieved by critics world-wide and she has an international base. She started off with a completely different point of view and made herself a star doing her own thing. Give the chick her credit sometimes lol

This chick is BAD!!! And people judge Kelis on her “USA sales and popularity” here, but answer this for me : WHY DOES SHE STILL HAVE A DEAL WITH A (MAJOR) LABEL AFTER ALL THESE YEARS?? I’ll answer this one for you seeing that you don’t seem to have a clue. She is successful in Europe and Asia, she’s a star overseas, so they keep her because of that. Same thing with Amerie. So while we call them has-beens and make people like T-Pain stars (who’s said to get no real love overseas), they’re being loved over there. And Kelis definitely is an artist. She worked with the best of them from Cee-Lo to Raphael Saadiq, and those were not bubblegum songs. She’s not going anywhere.

I agree with #49 one hundred percent. The problem is that nowadays people are afraid to be different, afraid to express themselves because they are worried about what others may think. So what happens is that now conformity is look upon as “playin it safe”.
Its funny that people with style are always being bashed by those who obviously has none, but yet they are quick to turn around and bite off a trend by that same individual. I can’t even count how many birds was (and still is) biting off of Kelis’s asymmetrical hairstyle once “Bossy” got dropped. Or even when Remy first came out with the blond bang. Yea people is callin her HAM now, but lets not forget about those same girls who dyed their bangs blond, strawberry or even copper.
I give alot of props to Kelis, M.I.A., Gwen and others who has style and is always ON TOP of their trend game. Might I add the Kelis was rockin fierce shit when she first came out, not AFTER she got paid like most celebs now…
I love Kelis, she looks good in these pictures and they are hot, and as I previously read Kelis isn’t a big seller in the U.S. but in Europe she’s running things with 9 tops forty hits and gold, platinum selling albums so she’s doing pretty good for herself there, my advice just put out singles in America and release the entire album where it sells like in Europe,Asia and the other overseas places.
