MUSIC NEWS ROUND UP: TWEET ALBUM NEWS / SPICE GIRLS PARTNER WITH VICTORIA’S SECRET / SOULJA BOY REMAINS #1

Friday, October 19, 2007

tweet1.jpg

According to our friends at Rap-Up.com, Tweet will be releasing her album 3rd album, Love, Tweet on April 8, 2008. The project will be released via Umbrella Recordings.

Tweet had some words about the new record “My Dear.”

“‘My Dear’ has that Atlanta sound, which I like,” says Tweet. “Marz [the producer] called me one night and asked me to come by the studio, Grand Hustle, and it just happened. I always wanted to work with T.I. and didn’t know how soon it would happen. But the opportunity came about and I went for it!” [SOURCE]

It has also be reported that “My Dear,” the single that was posted with T.I. was just released as a buzz song and the official first single is titled, “Anymore,” and is produced by Novel. Tweet is one of my favorite vocalists, but it seems like to me, the label didn’t like the feedback that they were get back from “My Dear,” so they decided to switch gears a little bit. I certainly don’t blame them.

SPICE GIRLS PARTNER WITH VICTORIA’S SECRET

spice.jpg

The Spice Girls, Capitol Music Group and Victoria’s Secret have teamed up to release the Spice Girl’s greatest hits album, beginning November 13.

The album will feature two new recordings from the girls titled “Voodoo” and “Headlines (Friendship Never Ends), along with classic Spice Girls favorites. Although sales on the album will begin Nov. 13, the disc will hit traditional retailers on January 15th and will include a DVD with music videos.

The girls will also begin their sold-out reunion tour on December 2, in Vancouver. Two days afterwards, they will perform at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.

SOULJA BOY REMAINS #1

sbtellem.jpg

Atlanta native Soulja Boy still remains at the top of the charts with his first dance anthem “Crank That (Soulja Boy).” He has been at #1 for six non-consecutive weeks, while Kanye West remains at #2.

Surprisingly enough, his second single, “Soulja Girl,” which features the Zone 4-signees I15, is also one of the greatest gainers on the radio, and is slowly but surely climbing the R&B/Hip Hop charts (holding the 23 spot after 4 weeks), while Alicia Keys’s “No One” still holds on the #1 spot on that chart.

I’ll be the first to say, color me surprised. I didn’t think it’d get this far this fast.

#1. How are the Spice Girls too old? When Mary & Mariah..and others of the like are still in the game?

Can’t wait for that new Tweet album.

Soulja Boy ROCKED IT at the Hip Hop Awards. The song is catchy & fun and not meant to be taken seriously.. Glad he’s getting success & basically did it on his own.

I am so sick and tired of hearing about this Souljah boy having the number one song in the country! Why don’t we hear stories about the fact that this child can’t even read! This would explain his elementary beats and lyrics. And it will also explain that horrible “Throw some D’s on it” song which he stole from text message joke.

I agree with mizz. cooper about Soulja Boy. He’s an embarassment to the great MC’s of hip-hop who crafted their art and had RESPECT for the genre. This dude, and all the other gimmicks are buring it into the ground.

He needs to go back to school instead of making this H.A.M. of a song!

first of all soulja boy is a child so stop talking shit like he 30 and should know better,he’s just having fun in his teenage years,of course he can’t rap but he makes songs for the kids to dance to,if all music was serious this would be a boring ass world, nobody said he was the king of hip hop or anything he just doing his little thing and getting his shine on…….you guys should try it

tweet i just love her voice,it’s very strong we need that back in r&b

i do have to admit that i used to like the spice girls and their little movie so i aint mad at them but i thought they had like 2 singles and that was it,or were they bigger in the uk????

I must be gettin old or something cuz Soulja Boy irritates the hell outta me. I can’t stand that song. Everytime I hear some kids pumpin it or doing the dance, I want to sit them down with a book and say now there’s something you need to study instead tryin to supersoak dat oh!

Tweet- Her first album was great, 2nd..well eh i liked only a couple of songs. But those few song were strong. I am excited about her new album

Souljah Boy - He has one hit wonder enbedded into my mind. The song is annoying but it has grown on me. He has songs called “Booty Meat” & Sidekick… i mean its so stupid…and Stupid is wat is in these days…i miss artist like a tribe called quest and the fugee’s …Rap w/ purpose and u can dance too

Spice Girls- a few people above asked if they had enough hits to make a greatest hits. Of course they do(see below).* the concert SOLD OUT in 38 seconds…they all are in there early 30’s oldest is 34…Mel B is giving them alot of publicity in America. They wre Huge in UK and big here as well. I am a fan and glad that they settled there petty differences to release this.

Standard edition
“Wannabe”
“Say You’ll Be There”
“2 Become 1″
“Mama”
“Who Do You Think You Are”
“Move Over”
“Spice Up Your Life”
“Too Much”
“Stop”
“Viva Forever”
“Let Love Lead the Way”
“Holler”
“Headlines (Friendship Never Ends)” new
“Voodoo” new
“Goodbye”

Tia–It’s not his age that bothers me. I mean, Lil’ Mama doesnt annoy but shes that same age group as Soulja Boy. It’s his EAR WRETCHING music, which I’d hate if he was in his 20’s or 30’s. I mean I could jam to Kriss Kross from the 90’s when they were kids.

Good for Tweet. Her voice is something different, that’s why I love it. Can’t wait to hear new material from her.

Yes, the Spice Girls were the ish back then. I’m not even going to front. They are not that old… y’all act like they are in their 40’s and such. They are all still in their early 30’s. Its not a problem at all. And with news coming that all their shows are being sold out… they are making their way to the bank!! Good for them. I’m excited to hear their 2 new songs. “Holler” and “Let Love Lead The Way” were my songs back then.

well # 40 just don’t listen to it,that’ll solve all your problems,he has alot of time to grow in the music business and make better music (lyric wise) until then he can keep makin us dance ya dig.oh and lil mama happens to be a very good rapper if you look past all of the bubble gum stuff she does, she actually has flow like when she was freestylin on the hip hop awards and that “no music” song after lip gloss on the video,so i agree on that she has alot of potential

Whatever song it is that soulja boy talks about superman that hoe I don’t think that’s a song for kids like what ppl have been saying.

My 16 year old cousin told me that superman that hoe means to be having sex then pull out and release on the girl’s back and she turns on her back making it spread like a cape…..

Spice Girls old?? Umm, no, they were young when they came out. There’s people in the game older than them, Mary J. Jennifer L., Janet, etc. So why should they sit down? Even when they started fading off in the States, they were still huge in Britain. Their tour will make huge money.
