Sorry guys ….. but I do not think the re-release will have a positive impact on sales. Kelly is beautiful, much like 99% of all pop singers, but she lacks charisma.

Charisma plays a huge role in marketing success. I wish her luck .. she’ll need it.

I’m going to be one of the few that proudly reps for her CD. I really liked it. “Come Back” would have been a great single, much better than”Ghetto”. Anyway, I think the problem with the album was the marketing. It’s contemporary R&B, not pop or hip-hop. She should have been pushed to us in the older market (25+) not the younger crowd. Why go on 106 & Park when the audience isn’t really chexking for you? BLack artists think that show is the be all and end all of a career. It’s not.

Also, many of her songs leaked as early as last November, so people had been piecing it together for months. I think a re-release would be great for her and I HOPE that Music World tries to establish her as a solid R&B artist, not some pop cross-over like Beyonce. Unlike Mya and Amerie, Kelly Rowland can really stand on her own.

I also GLADLY rep her album, it is hot. It got great reviews yet aint sold very well. I will always support Kelly till the end.

I love me some Kelly…and her album was hot, the songs she released weren’t a good choice, and her videos pissed me off. I had a lot of hope for her, but now I’m not sure if she really has what it takes to be a solo artist.

I hope the re-release helps her album sales b/c she has a really thorough cd. It’s good and didn’t get the promotion or hype it deserved. I liked it much better than Ciara’s and Beyonce’s.

I agree with you Mack #28, Bday did sound rushed. I kept thinking, why is she bragging about making this album so quickly, it sounds like you made it quickly. Beyonce had a couple of hot songs on there but that wasn’t a front to back listen CD.

I think the problem is people set their star and no one can get a break. Beyonce is supposedly the epitome of female entertainment right now. She’s good performer, has a great voice, I’ll give her those things. But she’s not the last or the only.

I can see the growth in Kelly she looks very pretty in those pics but to me her as a
solo artist is not a good look, she was way betta to me in DC.

I haven’t really gotten into Kelly as a soloist. I have liked her on collabs though (i.e. dilemma until they ran it into the ground). If at first you don’t succeed try try again all I know! Hope thing eventually work out for her.

Amerie new cd is fiiiire. It grew on me but it’s a solid cd. Nevertheless, I wish all the ladies much success. I’m fans of each one of them. I like Kelly more for her personality than her vocal skills though.

I have both Bday & Ms. Kelly and honestly I like Ms. Kelly better than Bday. I had to listen to alot of Beyonces songs over and over again before I liked them and I am a big Beyonce fan and usually I love all of her music and I love the gogo music she likes to do.

For her to be on top she would have to compete with her bestfriend beyonce and if anyone has seen the old destiny child videos of them doing interviews & etc - kelly seemed like she praised beyonce and would let her have all the limelight. Im guessing its just her personality. Shes not so agressive and Beyonce/Sasha is.

Kelly’s cd is very good but watching her perform is like watching a spoon. Kelly Rowland brings nothing new to the table and I think people are now looking for different types of music. I love Kellys music to death and whenever I hear shes about to perform or has new music I get excited because I want her to shine. But she just has a sound like “everybody else”. People are even seeming to respect rihanna now that she doesnt look like the typical “weaveable”, blonde hair pop girl. After her hair cut and more edgy music she got more recognition.

I think a re-release would be good IFshe changed some things up a little and got with the right people. Just for trial and error change your management and see how things work(having just family relationship with the Knowles not business.
Change your style,your attitude towards work(be aggressive and act like you want it)
Be creative and come up with something that destinys child or beyonce has not come up with.
Be you ,dont talk as if you owe your entire life to the Knowles(be appreciative not obligated)
Find the best producers or even the “underdogs” you never know where that will take you.
Take risks that whats life is about.
I dont care if cds dont sell that much anymore-there are means and ways to get people buying them(dont sell your body now)

Have any of you actually heard her album? That girl can really sing. The problem is not Mathew Knowles letting her shine it is people like this making this comment. She is a very talented young lady. I think if she were high yellow her own people would probably give her a chance.

Nothing against Beyonce, but, she is not any prettier and she is not more talented. She just happened to date the right man. Because I believe if she were not dating him know would have paid as much attention to her.
