I don’t know if you guys remember Cheri Dennis, but she’s been signed to Diddy’s Bad Boy for eons. She was surpassed by Danity Kane, Yung Joc, Cassie, B5, and all the other artists that Diddy has put before her. The sad thing is, she’s been signed longer than each and ever last one of those artists mentioned. Either way, I heard through the grape vine that Cheri shot a new video here in Atlanta a couple of days ago. I’m assuming that it’s for this new single, “Portrait of Love,” which features rappers Yung Joc and Gorilla Zoe.

I was a huge fan of Cheri’s first single, “I Love U,” which you may remember from ages ago. It was produced by Ryan Leslie, one of his better ones, if I might add. “Portrait of Love” is not a bad song, but I really don’t think it hits hard enough to be Cheri’s new single if she wants to bring heat and finally get this project out. It’s been a long time coming, and she really needs to get it together. Supposedly, the album is set for a release date of January 29th. We’ll see.
Be on the look-out for more Cheri Dennis news! Hopefully, she can get the steam she needs to get her debut out.

This song has been around for ages, its hot, produced by Soul Diggaz. (Missy associates) I don’t think its hot enough to break her out as her “debut” single (come on, “I Love You” wasn’t promoted or even released properly) but it is a cool, catchy track and I hope it blows up. Can you believe Cheri has been part of the Bad Boy family for approacing A DECADE people? (she appeared on Mase and Puffy’s albums in 1999)
However, the reason Cassie got released before Cheri despite her obvious lack of vocal talent is because Ryan Leslie gave her the hottest, catchiest tracks like “Me & U”, “Long Way 2 Go” and “Call U Out”. (and because she’s hot as hell!) I wish Bad Boy would get Cheri one of these hot singles to break her out. Either way, I’m a massive Cheri fan and I hope her project finally gets a release when its supposed to in January, I’ll be copping it.
