VIDEO: ASHANTI SINGING ‘GOD BLESS AMERICA’

Ashanti sang ‘God Bless America’ for the first game of the MLB World Series in Boston on Wednesday night. She did a pretty good job too, check it out.

Her new album, The Declaration has been pushed to February of next year.

THE MINI ROUND UP: DAME DASH & RACHEL ROY EXPECTING / BIGGIE WAX FIGURE REVEALED

Damon Dash is celebrating after announcing his fashion designer wife, Rachel Roy, is pregnant with the couple’s second child. Roy is due to give birth in spring 2008; the couple, who wed in 2005, already have a daughter, Ava, born in 1999. Roy says,

“It’s number two and I am thrilled because number one, Ava, is the best thing in my life, and I have always wanted to have another little Ava – or Ava as a boy. So, high fives all around.”

Dash also has a son from a previous relationship.

BIGGIE WAX FIGURE REVEALED

October 25, 2007 [New York, NY] – In a moving tribute to her son, Ms. Voletta Wallace today unveiled a wax figure of legendary rapper Biggie Smalls (born: Christopher Wallace) at Madame Tussauds New York. Many of Biggie’s friends attended the figure unveiling, which also featured a performance by members of the Brooklyn High School of Arts’ choir, who sang “I’ll Be Missing You,” a tribute song composed shortly after Biggie’s death, and gospel classic, “I’ll Fly Away.”

TV SHOWS PT. 2: JAY-Z IS A STORYTELLER / “MARTIN” SEASON 3 / MARY & TYSON ON TOPMODEL / CHRISTINA LOVES SUPERMAN

Jay-Z finished taping a special episode of VH1′s Storytellers titled Jay-Z: Life of an American Gangster. The nearly two hour concert, filmed at Steiner Studios in Brooklyn, will include Jigga performing tracks from his new album American Gangster and giving the audience a explanation of the inspiration behind the songs.

Word is that wifey Beyonce was backstage dancing and rhyming along backstage for support. Gotta love that. Be sure to check out the special episode of Storytellers on VH1 November 8th at 9p.m ET/PT.
