Brandy, who is still in court with legal battles, is saying that recording her new album is helping her to cope. Police investigators recommended that Brandy be charged with misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter, but the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office has yet to file charges.
“I’ve just got to get that album out,” the pop star tells PEOPLE. “I have to get it out, if it’s the last thing I do.” She continues, “I’ve been gone for a long time. I really want to give the fans something that they deserve to have. So, I’m working really hard on this. I really want to make it the best work I’ve done so far.”
Brandy’s as yet to be titled album will be her fifth studio album and the first since 2004’s critically well-received (even though sales weren’t what they were expected to be) Afrodisiac.
Howard University’s spectacular homecoming took place last week and being a bison myself, I was there for some of the festivities. I had the pleasure of hanging with Janelle Monae who performed at Howard’s fashion show. This girl is one HECK of a performer!

The third song to leak from Bow Wow and Omarion’s joint project, Faceoff. Apparently now, this is the first single from the project. Honestly, like the other tracks that I’ve heard, this one falls short as well. I guess I’m just past being interested in hearing any of the material that’s been prepared for this album, because all of it has been mediocre to me. But realistically, “Girlfriend” is the type of the song they need to be recording, because it’s what’s going to appeal to their audience - young girls want to hear Bow and Omari talking about being in love with a girl, ’cause that girl could potentially be them.

Little Jax Joseph Nilon and Jaid Thomas Nilon were born a minute apart in Los Angeles. The actress, who has a teenage son from a previous marriage, tells People magazine, “We’re so in love with them.”
Beauvais-Nilon, who posed nude while pregnant in the August (07) issue of Playboy, has been married to Hollywood agent Mike Nilon since 2001.
