We all heard the rumor about Usher delaying his album plans because of Tameka’s pregnancy but it looks like Usher’s mama is not having it!
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the two ladies supposedly got into a recent screaming match where Jonetta Patton blamed Tameka for ruining her son’s career.
The entertainer’s mother, Jonetta Patton, supposedly had a screaming match with his wife, Tameka Foster, after learning Usher had dropped plans to release a new record because Foster insisted he take a break from his career to concentrate on her and their baby, a son who’s due in December.
Patton despises Foster for getting her fired as her son’s manager but didn’t hesitate to call her daughter-in-law to tell her she “is doing a great job destroying a talented artist’s fantastic career.”
According to a source who was present, Foster said nothing, then snapped her cell phone shut, thus ending the one-sided conversation. [source]
I’m sure you all remember the tip we received after Usher threw his fragrance release party a few weeks back. The tipster said you could slice the tension between Tameka and Jonetta with a knife.
Usher needs to snap out of it – he is old enough to realize that mama does know best sometimes. I think his mama is dead on about Tameka, sad to say. Usher picked the wrong time to rebel and assert his manhood…he’s going to be paying for it dearly for the rest of his life – dayum URSH!
Wow. Mommy’s not playing. I hear that. Usher will soon come to his senses. I wish them all the best of luck. My guess is that Usher will need it the most. A couple of you are saying that he’s in love. I’m not quite to sure about that. I think Usher is more excited than anything else about his baby and fatherhood. But i certainly could be wrong. He’s a grown man, with a wife, and a baby on the way. He’s not the little boy she helped to become a superstar.
She has to let him go, let him be a man, make his own decisions, and deal with whatever consequences his decisions bring.
I just hope Usher is not letting Tameka destroy his relationship with his mother, because his mother will ALWAYS be is mother. Tameka may or may not always be his wife. You don’t let anybody separate you from your family so they can control you.

That’s Usher’s fault….you gotta be aware of a woman that just doesn’t get along with your mother? And yes, mothers can be a mess sometimes but EVERYONE has something negative to say about Tameka including her OWN family, so what’s really good?? If my parents had each listened to their parents they would never have got married and been able to share a beautiful happy 25yr marriage in which they’ve stuck with each other and worked hard together to get through the hard times and also enjoyed many many happy times..
Maybe Tameka and Usher’s mother are too alike, I know that’s why my grandmother didn’t like my mother.

His mother has always been his manager and he always called her by her first name…and in a interview once with MTV some time back he said sometimes he finds it hard for him to seperate his mother from his manager
I kinda understand usher’s mom but she cant breastfeed him forever. Both women are being selfish. Momma need to let him go ahead and make mistakes and learn from them. I wouldn’t want to see my son putting the thing he loves on a backburner on behalf of some female.

Usher’s mistake was not marrying Tomeka. His mistake was letting 1million people into his business. His mistake was putting a fragrance out without a CD to back him up. His mistake was throwing Tomeka into public view when he KNOWS good and well he has young female fans that will be heartsick. I feel what ushers mom is saying from a “BUSINESS” point of view only. She was the one that nurtured him into the superstar that he is now. (Can i still say “superstar”?). So its got to be hard to sit back and watch her son’s career slow down, when it was just getting on a roll! Bottom Line everybody knew this was coming. No surprise Usher wants to be there for the baby. He is a father, he should be there for the birth of his child.
