Britney has had 5-7 top ten hits…Toxic, Drive me Crazy, Oops, Hit Me BAby, and Gimme more, and 17 songs total that’ve charted (has the most charting success of the Millenium artists)

The thing is Gimme more and HIT me baby one more time are her HIGHEST songs on the charts

I’m not feeling this Britney stuff, not because it isn’t catchy or because the beats aren’t hot, but because there is no artistry. This album has no concept, no known direction other than throwing money at the top producers. I’m sure if Cherish got this kinda budget they would jump off. She isn’t even promoting this CD. Look at the crappy video for GimmeMore. I don’t think Brit needs to worry about Celine, she was also up against Alicia. All 3 of the ladies are totally different I don’t think one would hurt the other much, but Jive needs this CD to be #1 with no worries because they have obviously spent a grip on it.

It’s the strange phenomenon with Britney Spears. She DOES CHART more than most artists, but yeah, she doesn’t have that many number 1 hits. What’s strange about that is her albums ALWAYS sell like crazy, and when ever she releases a video it stays at the top of the TRL countdown for weeks. You would think she’d get more radio spins, and she DOES in Europe. The problem is she’s really not respected in the US. A lot of radio stations won’t play her stuff as often, but as you can see that’s never stopped her.

I mean, for example, Baby One More Time was the only #1 off of her first album, but that album went DIAMOND. NOBODY can fuck with that, #1s or not…

That tends to happen when u work with urban producers, look at Fergie, Gwen, and JoJo, no one had issues when their music was being posted. I think a lot of people have issues with Brit because of the simple fact that she’s going through a meltdown, she’s human, it happens to the best of us. Give her time she’ll get it together.

I only listen to Brit’s song the other’s don’t interest…I must say its cute for her! I hope she makes videos worthy of her songs, and redeems herself from this downward spirl she is on!

I don’t like “No One”….but I’m an AK fan, so I’ll buy the CD next month. As far as Britney is concerned, I’m not gonna front, I like Gimme More. If I can listen to non- singing chicks like Janet, Rhianna, Ciara, I can give non-singing Brit a chance too. I have it on my IPOD and bump it er’day, no lie.

@109, Britney’s had more solo albums out, but none of the other mentioned ladies will probably ever sell as many albums as she did. Who cares about Grammy’s? It’s not like they actually award the best artists of the year. Besides Brit can always win more Grammys, but Bey is gonna have a helluva time trying to sell over 14 mill cds in the U.S. No disrespect to her, of course.
