I feel as though T.I. felt the need to purchase those weapons because of the incident that happened with his former bodyguard that ended up dying, i guess he needed to take precautions for his safety but that doesnt excuse the fact that he had wayyyy too many guns. I agree, if you are doing dirt, esp.when you have been blessed, and no longer have to be in that element - [if you ever did], then you have to own up, and man up and accept the consequences of your choices - period.

My point was that it was very odd, that there was a cameraman from a local news/hip-hop show available for the ’showdown’ — but it may be the bodyguard was calling a whole lot of people that day.

I am very sad to hear about T.I.’s situation. I feel that he is a wonderful talent. However, when you are from the hood…..you are still…from the hood. No matter where you new address takes you. That mentality does not change. No one knows the true story behind the reason he decided to take on such a large aresenal of weapons. It is easy to assume, spectate, and speculate on his lifstyle. However, until you have walked in his shoes and understood his responsibilities…enemies, fake friends, wealth, etc. We wont know WHY this decision was made. The only thing I think he did wrong is he “trusted the wrong person”. One of the main rules of the game is to……NEVER get too comfortable with your environment. Another rule is to watch who you let come to your house. The bodyguard should have never known about the gunsafe in the closet. Some things should be personal…no matter what!

I don’t know how reliable the following is but this is supposedly what his people are saying.

According to TI’s friend, the rapper never tried to purchase any guns through his bodyguard. The insider explained to MediaTakeOut.com, “[The bodyguard] asked TI for an advance on his [pay] and TI gave it to him …. Whatever he spent money on - whether it be guns, drugs, or formula for his children - TI had nothing to do with it.” The insider continued, “The government was just looking to pin a case on TI - they’ve been trying for years. So they pushed [the bodyguard] into snitching on TI.”

And the insider claims that the cache of weapons found in TI’s home was not his either. The insider explains, “TI has security that live with him and stay with him at all times.
