Wait. Let me elaborate. I liked the direction Kerry Washington was going but the direction could have been a little better so that the situation was more clear and the actors played out the scenes better. I think everyone was great in the video though.

I like it. I think Kerry did a wonderful job directing and for those who are a little confused and feel pieces were missing, I think that was the whole point. People will interpret this in different ways which is cool. That’s the art of directing; you can spell out the ending or leave a little to the imagination, which is what Kerry did. I like the concept of the video. It’s concept that everyone goes through at some point. The ex that does not want to give up on the relationship even when the other person has moved on. That person that does not want to give up keeps putting themselves in situations to hurt themselves because that hurt they feel is the closest they can get back to that love. The opposite of Love is not Hate, It’s apathy! The love and hate has the same energy level. Joy and Pain is the same way!

How hard is it to figure out that Akeys is the new girl and Common gets a glance at Ole girl Kerry going in the room to get the DVD of them. He kinda still wants her but she ain’t really ready - like ALL break ups. He leaves the party and then AKeys notices he is gone - she goes looking for him when she sees the ex leaving - so she knows what the deal is. So at the end AKeys is just there for him to lean on her shoulder and Kerry leaves wondering if she should go back but naaaahhhhh she is moving on.

I get that! No rocket sceince, no less grown. Just a simple lil mini movie with few question marks. but I think in the age of videos being mini movies people expect it to be produced by LIONGATE or Warner Bros. She seems him and senses he needs some embrace type love that women seem to know you need. His face is all sour stoic at the end though because another beautiful woman he apparently still cares for(if maybe no longer in that way) fucked up his mood. Somebody mentioned she was supposed to look dark,black clothes, dark make up ,tears, etc that was a good observation. All I’m saying in this I’m high on chronic rant is this Kerry Washing made a dope video at the very least an interesting one and people should respect that.

Loved it! This video is a beautiful work or art, Ms. Washington has a wonderful directing career in front of her. For those who don’t think it was well done, go rent a few award-winning independent and/or foreign films and get an understanding of cinematic art.
