I loved the video. It was a good look, Very different from all the other hip hop videos. Real Grown and Sexy. Alicia Keys and Kerry Washington are too damn fine.

It was nice. Cool song. Nice to have a different vibe to a rap video. Kerry and Common have great screen presence individually and hot chemistry together. It wasn’t a cinematic masterpiece, but is was a nice break from the norm.

#70–I agree. It does have an indie/ foreign art house flavor to it. I like the mysterious, fatal attraction type vibe. Glad I viewed this one.

Kerry Washington did a great job with the vid. I’m so proud of her. More black women should be directing music video’s anyway. Maybe then we would see more that T & A on our screens. Video’s just might become an artistic form of expression once again rather than the soft porn and cracked out kiddie tales they have become.

I think the whole point of the song and the video is for it to be interpretive. If you think about it… Common could be confused, as most people are when they are no longer involved with someone they share ‘memories’ with. He was from a outsiders perspective moving on (hence Alicia and company at a couple’s dinner party) while secretly holding on to memories from the past relationship. Kerry Washington’s character needed what some of us women call ‘closure’ by geting her stuff that she believes she’s entitled to and also test him to see if he would give her any type of sign that their break up was a mistake. Alicia having women’s intuition, senses something ain’t right and goes to look for her man. At the end, although KW is walking away, and he’s watching as she struts across the street, they are both contemplating whether the break up was a good idea but decides to not wake a sleeping giant…. Ta Da.. that is my interpretation… loose one at least…

Ok, let me see if I can break this down.
Kerry is the ex girlfriend..(is she stalking ?)
She sneeks in to Common’s place
Common still has feelings for her, even though he’s got AK ?
Everybody looks grown and sexy in the video, but the story could have been clearer.

Wow…that video by Common was pretty tight. I LOVE the way that he made it almost like a movie more than the typical music video, but then again he kinda did the same thing with his ‘Testify’ video and that was tight too. So keep puttin out the hotness Common, and I’m sure everybody will keep watchin and listening.

Somebody please just explain to me why Common is so phucking fine??? No man on earth should be that damn fine and intellectual…DAAAYYUMM! He IS the prototype….BTW, maybe this song was a sly shout out to Erykah Badu. She had a song on her last album tiled “I Want You” as well. Common is one of the most lyrical artist in the rap game that has been ignored for a long time, his season has arrived. I loved this video and the way it actually tells the story of this song. Keep it coming Common.

okay, what did karri say to common when he tried to grab the dvd from her? she said something that just shocked his world? his character literally let her walk out the place with the dvd in hand? he even covered his mouth in awe over it. what do you all think she said?

this video took me a while to understand also. it is hard to tell who the girl in the video is and the fact he is singing about someone who he will always love and held so close to his heart, yet the video makes her look like a psycho. i realized he is singing about how great she kerry was, yet they broke up for the better. he now has a new girlfriend, but isnt into her like he was with the ex.

she goes to his place to get the video they made having sex, since she didn’t want him having it since it’s over. she sneeked in because he is not giving the video up. he sees shes there, and it shows before he goes into the room, he is thinking of the video and he knows shes gonna take it. he is holding on to it because its all he has left of her. she takes it and leaves. he realizes she just took the last thing he had to remind him of her, then alicia comes and sees her leaving, and she smiles because she knows the video is finally gone, and she knew all along common was still in love with his ex. alicia is his comfort chick pretty much. this was a great video, and it finally makes sense haha
