I love this song and video because Jay is taking it back to the old school. Some may not like it because they are a little to young to remember or appreciate the essence of hip hop. I am glad that he is paying respect to real hip hop.

Most of Jay’s old stuff talked about dope slangin and living the high life off of it. Plain and Simple.The man knows what real hip hop was about and it was truly not about those those elements. I think he is tired of being in a box musically.
My suggestion to you is to listen to BDP’s “Love’s Gonna Getcha”. You really need to hear some real hip hop and cleanse your ears of all that Dope Boy Fantasy Rap.

I HATE JAY-Z, he looks straight up like a turtle, thats not even the reason, his voice sucks, its way to basic, its like he shows no emotion when he’s rapping.. Beats are nice.. HOVA MY ASS, who the **** does this ched think he is? Lupe fiasco is clearly better then him when it comes to it lyrically, I mean I listened to his starting verse, its not that great :P, i just think people give this idiot way too much respect, theres other rappers out there doing it better..

Jay-z stopped being innovative the moment he got that crossover appeal..since then its the same formula..I love jay for his talents but I also dislike jay for having limited himself so much..I guess if it works you continue it but damn..the man is in a position to flip the hustler tales..hasn’t kool g. rap been doing that sincle like 83? 30 seconds of this video made me nostalgic for “Don’t Knock the Hustle” which had a similar video of New York City streets, cars ridin’ etc. If he’s biting anyone, it’s himself. All the current shit I hear on the radio is mostly about dances and other dumb shit. So, again…not that I’m an expert…I’m just curious to hear from some of the people posting that Jay-Z is whack…who then from the mainstream should we look to for good material as far as Rap music?
